Located at the end of the Awean peninsula, this village is widely accepted as the continent's best resource for trade in fish. It is populated by a diverse people well adapted to a life lived mostly on the seas. Communities are built as complex structures that span the distance between numerous islets across the archipelago. Houses are constructed in lumber cobbled together in a spiderweb network of ropes that often leaves sections suspended above the water. Although dwellings may look precarious at best to outsiders, each make has weathered both sea and storm and survived. The climate here is tropical and often too wet and humid a place for anyone unfamiliar with the area. Those that call it their home however swear by the sunset's kiss on a dusk sea. Lawai surrounds an active volcano. There have been no eruptions in recent years. _____________________________________________________________ | _________________________________________________"_ |
Infamous island near the edge of the known world, inhabited near exclusively by those pirates that call the sea their home. Although well known as a hotbed of criminal activity, enforcement of law is near impossible with waters surrounding the island being so dangerous to traverse and a return for such enforcement being next to nothing. As it stands, there is little to gain in permanence from venturing so far East and anyone too brave or stupid to heed the notion does so at their own risk. Gravendau is governed by a collection of five captains. These five hold their seats by virtue of wealth, power, and influence. Other captains can challenge them for their seats by amassing more of any of the above, or, by way of a duel to the death. _____________________________________________________________ | _________________________________________________"_ |
Settlement situated at the base of Brakken Mountain and home to the miners and quarry workers who find their fortune from the mountain's bounty. Thanks in large part to a nearby port, trade in and out of Brakkendale is healthy and nearly all of the continent's stone and metal is mined here. Those who call the mountain their home are a hearty and hard working people. The climate is fairly dry despite being situated near the coast. During the summer, dust storms sweep through from the North mountain pass and strong winds are a common occurrence during the rest of the year. The numerous windmills dotting the surrounding landscape is a sign of the settlement's early adaptation to their home's unique weather. _____________________________________________________________ | _________________________________________________"_ |
A kingdom to the North with a beauty matched only by it's mystery. Ilimare is a reclusive state situated in the mountains on an island of sheer cliffs and surrounded by a tumultuous and unforgiving sea. Approach by ship is further exacerbated by the wall of jagged rocks just below the water's surface. Although a path through exists, the exact route is difficult to find for the inexperienced and even more difficult for those uninvited; and very few are ever invited. Besides by sea, there is also travel to Ilimare by a single bridge spanning the length between the island and their settlement on the mainland. The bridge is impossibly long, taking as much as three days to cross, and there is very little shelter along the route save for a stop at it's midpoint. Beyond that, one may try their luck crossing the frozen sea during the Winter months and surviving the climb once they've reached the walls of the island. _____________________________________________________________ | _________________________________________________"_ |
To look upon Solem is to gaze upon Heaven itself. An expansive kingdom carved from marble and stone, it stretches from the base of the northern mountains all the way to the coast and is a icon of opulence and decadence that is impossible to miss from nearly all horizons. From within it's walls, most if not all citizens are masked. Solem remains the seat of power in the known world and is looking to expand it's reach far beyond the edges of the map. _____________________________________________________________ | _________________________________________________"_ |
