Bio

You showed up.

One way or another, you've arrived at my profile. You've taken a wrong turn in an alleyway because you didn't pay enough attention to your map. You've heard of something cool and new and thought maybe you'd see what all the fuss is about? Or maybe it is that you noticed like me updating my status or were lurking through an RP or something I am in and just kinda clicked my profile, that happens too. Regardless, you'll come to learn that your actions have consequences. Not this one since you can always just, like, leave.

I have a few names and I don't mind being called whatever you fancy at that given time. KingofTheSpectrum, FamishedPants, ChadChadlainn. Any derivative of these is fine as well. Most tend to use Pants, however. I'm nearing my thirties and enjoy games, anime, V-tubers, and visual novels. You can find my still-obsolete list here as it contains everything important on it.

As for games particularly, I am a huge fan of Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Nier and its sequel, FFXIV, and recently, Project Wingman.I tend to lean towards shooters and action games, but I have also wasted 8+ years on League of Legends. I think the only games I tend to avoid are card games and sports games, but there can always be exceptions.

For anime, I tend to watch whatever looks entertaining. It doesn't have to be good. I've seen a lot of the generic, poor-quality isekai harems that are out there. It's difficult to remember what I actually genuinely like, but Chaika the Coffin Princess comes to mind, as well as FMA: Brotherhood. I'm currently enjoying Tokyo Revengers.

I've read my fair share of visual novels, as my list would tell you. I can't recommend going through Muv Luv Extra/Unlimited, then playing Alternative enough! Big fan of Rance, Grisaia no Kajitsu, and Demonbane as well. I could probably go on and on about them, but I'll stop here.

Also, fuck you, Broken.

"Stop being a little bitch."
Zachary Ackerson

Here they were again, discussing the untimely demise of yet another Infinite and the false friend who killed them just like he said they would. He wasn't happy that he was right, but he wasn't surprised, either. Because when one died, another one would soon follow suit, and they would be pulling the trigger this time.

And the cycle, Zach was convinced, would once again repeat.

---

This place is nothing but a prison-cum-death-chamber. The gloom was apparently held at bay by the spark of hope in each Infinite's heart. But with these extinguished flames, one couldn't miss the overwhelming darkness of despair. Knowing this ever-present dread, was there really ever hope to begin with?

---

The trial began.

When Noel confessed to her role as Davis' helper, Zach shook his head. So Noel had always been sneaking around behind their backs? She even went so far as to stage a conversation between her and the false Justiciar. How obnoxiously absurd. Zachary had always had reservations about the reporter, but that was for a much different reason. He couldn't -- no, nobody could have ever predicted this. It was betrayal in the truest sense of the word. A friend wouldn't do such a thing.

Was that too a strong word to describe the others for Zach? Maybe. But at the very least, he did not desire harm inflicted on the others, not even Ice, and he was sad when unfortunate fates befell them. To some degree, even if minor, he felt a connection.

Not that his actions following that thought would make it obvious.

Because his first contribution to the conversation was after Cyrus spoke, and Noel had responded, and it wasn't kind. But Cyrus' actions weren't justified enough for him to remain silent. He was emotionally compromised, and even if it was obvious and understandable why, it was getting them nowhere. Besides, telling her to kill herself was almost funny given the fact that her choice to execute Bliss in front of everyone was doing just that.

"Just.. stop, Cyrus. What do you hope to gain by this aggression? If it's catharsis you want, then just wait for the inevitable execution. I'm sure Davis will make it quite the spectacle." he sighed. "Besides, being a hypocrite takes the sting out of your words. Because unless you can, with a straight face, tell us that you'd insult Bliss for doing the exact same thing, you have no ground to stand on. It's meaningless and quite petty." in contrast to Cyrus, Zach was quite calm. His words didn't seem to have any real inflection to them, more like he was making small talk. If Cyrus had a response, Zachary would likely just ignore it, as nothing he would say would matter to him.

Zach turned to Noel. He clearly did not intend on remaining silent this time. "No, at least I'm not," he answered her. "A murderer should be punished, and one who targets children especially so." he agreed. He then turned a hand up "But like that? By you? And so soon after a trial? I can't condone it, even if you're trying to blue-ball Davis." he said.
Feels weird being in a trial already but I mean there's no reason NOT to be.

Also, I missed some text coloring with Zach and now I physically can't RP anymore. I'm out guys, sorry.

"Imagine just staring at someone and not saying anything. Also ignore my last post :3"
Silhouette

Silhouette couldn't see the point in making small talk at this time, but she did not ignore Tetrad because of this. She thought for a moment and seriously considered the question, even though it likely wasn't intended to be answered. "I... didn't dislike the respite from this city, so I suppose it has been okay. Notwithstanding the Ascendancy intervention that is."

Truth was, that was a mixed bag. Getting mixed up with them so early was a bit irksome, but that also meant potential conflicts she could enjoy. Thinking in this way was still very much foreign to her, but she could not deny herself any longer. Ninha and her, in a way, might not have been so different. She was just unfamiliar, whereas Sil imagined that the girl was never in denial. How she envied the girl if that were the case.

The others seemed to have ascertained the Overcity in a relatively short amount of time, which was a pleasant surprise to Sil. She wasn't partial to waiting around.

But Mika was asking a bit much of her.

"You want me to get on that?" Silhouette asked, eying the cloud skeptically. She was obviously doubtful the thing was safe, but it wasn't like she had any transport of her own, unfortunately. She sighed, resigning herself to her fate, but not before asking them to wait for a second while she approached a tree and, brandishing her blade, carved a small chunk out of it, which she then stashed in her coat. It was to be her insurance in case of an emergency.

Hopping onto the potential death trap, Sil spoke. "If we're all ready, then lets go." she urged.

Presumably, Nimbus did indeed take off. This being the case, Samantha kept one hand over her breast where the piece of wood was resting. She intended to use it the moment she needed to and no later.

Katarina voicing her inexperience with this area prompted Silhouette to respond. "I suggest not coming here for a vacation, unlike someone else. It is most certainly a dang..er..ous...?" she trailed off as she slowly eyed the girl staring at her. Sam slightly tilted her head, unsure why she was getting such treatment from Su. It was making her feel uncomfortable. And wasn't that rude? What kind of person just stares at someone like that? Only a creep or something of that nature.

Oblivious to the irony of her having such a thought, Sil opted to take action. "Su?" she addressed the girl by name unconsciously. "If you could stop violating me with your eyes and ask whatever it is you want to ask, I'd appreciate it."

"Tigers are for nerds~!"

— Hilaria

How sweet it was for the girl to personally thank everyone. Wasn't she precious? But not entirely. That trick of hers was perhaps the least pleasant experience Hilaria had the misfortunate of having in a long while. If she thought about it, the only real damage she sustained that fight was friendly fire. Hilaria might have to discipline her if that happened again, which would be even less pleasant.

"Oh, Hilaria is glad to have been of some help~! You can call upon her whenever you need~!" she lied with the sweetest smile on her face. "Mmm, but only if you don't cook her like that~"

Saying such, she glanced back at the newcomer, whose tiger had, unfortunately, not turned into a tortoise. She thought he should prioritize fixing that. Maybe then she'd find him somewhat interesting, but for now she did not. Hilaria found herself paying less and less attention to the conversation involving him, and instead turned back to Mariette, who was making a break for it.

"Eh~ Leaving so soon~?" she asked the girl before she could disappear into the portal. Hilaria was mildly curious about the girl with a cute little doll. But if she was unwilling to talk, then that was fine, too. She could also strike up a conversation with the pirate, or just leave.

"Pain, pain, go away."

— Emily

Emily frowned upon hearing Helga's reasoning. She did not owe Emily a single thing, as far as she was concerned. They were sisters, and so it was only expected that she would help one in need. Even if the pain was intense, a mauled arm was always preferable to a dead sister. And she imagined Lupa would not be particularly happy if she had killed someone in that state.

As they entered the hotel, Emily took in her surroundings. She had not been to a place that bore any resemblance to this before. "How pretty!" she complimented, following the girl to the break room, wherein Lupa was set down and Helga had changed. Emily did not follow suit as she felt it was best to remain in her magical girl form until she was in better shape.

Moments later, the two ghost girls arrived. Emily had a vague sense that she knew them from somewhere, and this was confirmed when Julia mentioned seeing her at the beach. There had been quite a few girls there, but Emily still felt a little ashamed she didn't properly recall the girls. They didn't seem to take it personally, so it must not have been as rude as she was imagining it was.

"Oh, hello! I'm Emily." she introduced herself to the ghosts, doing her best to smile despite the pain she was in. She was nothing but eager to comply with Helga's instruction, and sat on the sofa as asked. As the girl explained the situation here and her worries, Emily frowned. "Su is a friend of yours?" she asked. "In that case, I do hope things turn out alright." she wished the girl luck.

When all was said and done with the healing, Emily felt so much better she nearly jumped out of joy. "Thank you!" she told Helga, and then both of the ghosts. With the pain gone she could properly smile, which naturally the other girls got to witness.

Being the stranger she was, Emily was quiet as the door opened. She felt a tinge of disappointment when Helga deflated after the guests turning out not to be Su, but otherwise did nothing.
Who knows? Maybe despair is the way to go?
@Majoras End

Or she could join him UwU
Excellent, I'm glad everyone was able to post in a timely fashion. I'll likely have another post up over the next few days.

<Snipped quote by FamishedPants>

I don't know who should spearhead the investigation, but it should be a levelheaded individual as oppose to a boneheaded one. It's sure to make the headlines since Noel is there.

Whomever it is, they need to be one stop ahead of the game. I'm starting to have doubts this'll be as easy as it looks. I mean, who just heads into a room and gifts everyone with a decap latte like that? Justicar, erm, Noel, has a few screws loose in her head it would seem. But I'll be damned if she'll get to see the headlines she'll be making.

And I especially don't want this RP headed in a hopeless direction, even if Zach has succumbed to despair. UwU
A post was made.

"I'm not much of a fan of scrambled eggs."
Zachary Ackerson

Zachary turned cold and dull eyes towards Alice, his expression disappearing as he did so. It was his sole response to the girl's attempt to diffuse the situation. As if he was almost unable to perceive her. Was this some form of arrogance, or something else? From what she had said, Alice did not understand either. Was there any point in speaking to her? Or Ice? He wasn't sure. He remained seemingly apathetic, but then Ice said something that noticeably shook him.

The ex-archer didn't look directly at Ice, but protested. "No, you're wrong. I... wouldn't do any such thing." he didn't seem particularly convincing when he said as much, though. Attempting to regain his composure (lack of outward expression in this case), Zachary remained quiet as Cyrus tried his luck where Alice had failed.

Ice's denial was significantly more hostile in nature than Zachary's own, perhaps to nobody's surprise. But Zachary didn't expect anything else from the thug. It did, however, seem to catch Cyrus off-guard, and the man might've even considered joining in on the conflict.

Zachary sighed. This was all so meaningless. Why even get worked up here? Nothing would come of it. Nothing mattered. "I'm..." the young man trailed off, his eye caught on a peculiar sight, and all interest in the conversation they were just having suddenly disappearing.

"...?"

An armored figure with a gun was perhaps the least-comfortable thing you could introduce to this situation. Tensions were high as-is, and now Bliss had a gun to her head. Zachary was... oddly calm at the sight, even though he knew this was only going to end with a casualty.

He had to have been as astounded as anybody else at the secret Bliss had been keeping, but his features remained stoic. And this persisted even after the gun had been fired and they had once again lost an Infinite to an Infinite.

Noel? That's surprising.

But it wasn't a big deal. Not Bliss. Not her death. Not the brain matter being flung. Not Noel's identity. Nothing. There was no big deal. Because it was exactly like he had said -- someone would kill someone, and there would be a trial. Granted, he wasn't expecting it to be right away, nor was he expecting to witness it firsthand. But that's just how it was.

"Could you just not right now?" Zachary firmly asked this of the person having perhaps the most reasonable response in the room, Emily. Her screaming was giving him a headache. Yes, everyone saw the blatant murder by gunshot that happened in this room. So there was no point in going off like that. Didn't she understand this? No, she wouldn't, would she?

The young man found himself glancing at the time. Sure was early in the day, wasn't it?
Not to get ahead of myself, but this trial doesn't seem particularly hard. Unless there's some trick to it. I suppose we'll see once we've made some headway. But who should head the investigation?
I'm sure she'll come up with something. She has a good head on her shoulders.
