Sorry about my delayed first post, but it is up now.
Cyren Searil

The last day of the arduous journey. It was evening as the group of elves overlooked the prospering and hopeful settlement of Urenda. Morale had been dropping, with no firm idea how long the trip was going to take with such a big group. A few elves ended up dead due to brigands up until this point, and the vista reaffirmed everyone's good spirit despite the surroundings. A vestige of hope in this dying world.

As the group stopped to chatter with each other and determine the plan of action, Cyren and Rinsten - another fellow guardsman - were the one who sought out for help crossing into the city. It was only a matter of offering a few amenities in the form of cookware and some rations in order to secure safety for the whole group, along with some information involving the current state of the city and what was necessary to do when things to trade ended.

Having been awake for all of the evening disregarding a small nap at the bar's table, Cyren was not yet done celebrating. Sitting across from Rinsten and Triel, Rinsten's sister, they were making the most of it without bothering to barter for alcoholic beverages.

"I know I said this before, but we did a good job bringing these people here. To think a bit of work and we can live here comfortably, it is not too bad a deal." With a wide grin, Cyren stretched his hands into the air before placing them behind his neck and leaning the chair back. "Not too bad a deal."

"Yes, it is. We might even be able to find a good guard position if we look around, and hopefully it will pay well. Volunteer work is nice, but there is more to life than being virtuous." It could be said that Rinsten's main goal in life seems to involve him fighting and earning money while doing so. In contrast -

"I would argue that protecting people is not the best course of action when earning money, but you already know that." Leaning her chin on her palm, Triel looked around idly. "There is probably a support position open somewhere that I can fill, maybe somewhere where I can act as a run around here rather than putting myself in danger too often." She wanted to live a full life. "What 'bout you, Cy?"

Cyren set the chair down on all fours as he yawned. After letting it pass, he responded in a cheerful tone. "I just go were the wind takes me, if you expect otherwise - you are wrong. Hopefully a good post will have an opening, but maybe I will find something else to do. Hard to say."

"Whatever it is, we will help you in any way as we can, right, sis?" Reaching over he places his arm across Triel's shoulder and pulls her close.

Ducking while pushing the arm back over her head, she moved herself away before finally responding. "Yes, that's right. That's what best friends are for." The chatting continued afterwards despite everyone's exhaustion.

Surprised by the new and potentially hostile new arrival, Nathaniel steps forward to quickly address the situation.

"My apologies. We are newly arrived magicians unaccustomed to travelling such foreign lands. We didn't mean to intrude." With a slight bow, he hold his left arm to his chest and his right hand facing down. After a moment he flips the hand upright and summons a small fireball above his palm and quickly snuffing it out. Nervous, he tries not to let it be heard in his voice. "We don't mean any trouble, but you may feel free to detain us if you don't believe so."

This would be a good time to learn some new things, but he expected he had to be careful on how he approached this. Not knowing how Vestus will respond, he can only hope everything will work out.

Nodding at the response, he gestures for Vestus to take the lead. "It doesn't seem necessary to make a base of operations due to the building we left being fairly accommodating and the fact that venturing too far without knowing where we are headed might not be for the best. Testing our powers does sound good, though, since I really want to see for myself what I am capable of." Nathaniel assumed they could likely test their abilities on the nearby plant life, but he personally wanted to stretch his legs and explore for the time being so he did not voice the opinion.

Stepping out into the serene setting, the experience was not lost on him. The unusual scents, sights and sounds all were exhilarating and he wanted to just explore it all.

Managing to stop himself for a moment to take a breath, Nathaniel calms himself down and turns to Vestus who was behind him. "I don't really know why we are here, either. I can just theorize it is related to our quest to defeat those powerful beings, but why that woman summoned us here to do that is lost on me since she could have likely done it herself." Letting the thought trail off, he glances around at the surroundings once again. "We were given these powers to - what I assume, at least - to defeat these guys, but she also said our powers could be improved."

Once again pushing up his non-existent glasses, he looks straight into the forest. "I don't think we can face them as we are, but it doesn't mean we can't explore and try facing one if we meet it. As such, it might be best to determine where to go at the moment. You mentioned you liked campfires before, so do you have experience in forests? If so, we could check it out since your experience might help, unless you personally want to see what that village is about."
I would like to sign, but my character sheet is still in the process of being written. I just thought I would post it, though.

Nathaniel

"To be honest, I was more used to taking TVs apart myself rather than watching them. But I never really went camping due to certain... complications involving personal matters."

Catching movement out of the corner of his eye, he sees that Azorel was already heading out the door. He was welcome to the distraction, and went with it. Looking up at Vestus, a wide grin spread across his own face. "But I guess now is not the time to think like that, as we can make up for lost time. Azorel seems to have found the door, so we can head out and explore this nature firsthand."

Marching forward, he did hesitate or turn back. It felt incredibly awkward to walking away from that situation for several reasons, but he was currently relieved.

Tightly gripping the mans hand, it did not feel too warm. That is, until a few moments had passed and the heat started to increase sharply. Pulling back his own hand and shaking it, afterwards he just looked upon his palm which was covered in perspiration. He really turned up the heat, there. Shaking off the droplets, he glared at his own hand yet again to find that they have already frozen solid. Or, maybe he just overheated my cold-skin. Pausing for a moment, he couldn't help but ask himself if this cold skin due to subconscious magic. If it was, he had to further test it.

This experience haven given him some ideas, but in the meantime he looked straight at Vestus and smiled again. "It was warm. A little too warm at that, so I had to cease the handshake."
Nathaniel

@Blackmist16

The straightforward and guileless nature of this man was surprising. It made Nathaniel feel slightly uncomfortable, but only because he was not used to meeting people like this. His unabashed request was also entirely unexpected and added to the uncomfortable feeling.

Holding out his hand for a handshake, he let a small but genuine smile cross his lips. "Sorry, I am not really used to being so personal. How about we just shake hands? I believe mine is still rather cold, so you can feel that too as a result."

Stopping the fireball production, he cautiously feels his palm with his other hand. It was not hot. If anything, it felt colder than usual. "No. I do not feel unusually warm."

At that moment, he was absorbed into the fact and just started rambling to himself. The way he stated that quandary... does that mean that he feels excessively warm? Reigniting a tiny fireball and snuffing it a few times in a matter of seconds, he was felt around the back of his hand, palm and even poked the surface of fireball itself. The heat seems to be coming off of my palm, instead of inside my body, which is indeed odd. If it was indeed coming from my body, it is really good at regulating the heat produced. The cold seems to be caused after the fire. Pausing for a moment, he stared at his palm before looking at Vestus.

"Ah, my apologies." He felt awkward having been distracted, pushing up his non-existent glasses with the cool palm before shrugging dismissively. "As I said, I do not feel warm, since it does not seem to come from my body directly. That does seem to be quite a fundamental difference. Does your skin feel usually cold afterwards?"

Interested in how Vestus's magic differed from his own, he started with the simple question.
