It looked like even with the guard along they would be shambling about aimlessly for a while. Ethan was doing his utmost to remain confident they would find Amuné, and he still was, though he worried what state they might find her in. Kidnappings were worse the longer they went on for and every second passing was a worrisome one. Between everyone they had though things would work out, they had to. They had been through more than this already and Amuné still had to see her parents again, she couldn't just disappear. Saying that would be much easier if they had some actual lead where to look though, right now it was a matter of wandering around and hoping to get lucky.

Ethan had almost considered going door-to-door when Wyth took off down the road ahead of them, watching the moorcat confused before taking off after him. If Wyth was reacting like that then he must have noticed something and they had to follow, it could bring them to Amuné. Blast it if the animal wasn't quick though, the only way he'd ever hope to keep pace was to use his magic and doing that right now wasn't the best of ideas. With the guard and Cecil in tow they managed to keep on Wyth's trail around the corner, heading further down that road until a shout directed their focus elsewhere. Someone was fighting with something and, judging by the growls, that something was Wyth. Had he found someone responsible for this?

As it happened he had, and it was the same man who had taken away Amuné in the first place. They may well have interrogated the man then and there were he not set upon by the massive moorcat and already torn up, probably off to meet the same fate as the man before if they didn't intervene. Not knowing how else to stop it Ethan rushed over and put himself in Wyth's way, smiling as he held his hands in a gesture for Wyth to back down. "Stop, we can't find Amuné if you kill him, please calm down," he urged, waving the animal off and backing up slightly, just in case his plea didn't work. While he was trying to console the furious beast the guard went around them to the man himself, apparently trying to do something to stop the bleeding before he passed out from it.

"That's a good boy. I know you're angry but you need to not do that, killing won't help us," Ethan spoke as he gently stroked Wyth's head, relieved the moorcat had backed down. He understood it perfectly though as even he wanted to hurt the man for what had been done, Amuné was completely innocent and should never have been mixed up in this mess of theirs. But as the guard was showing you couldn't just lash out even if you knew someone was bad, hurting someone else didn't fix the problem.

While he had no medicines on him and there was no healer among them the guard did what he could, using strips of cloth from the man's own clothing to tie up the wounds. His shirt was now in tatters but he doubted anyone minded, it was better than bleeding to death. "I'll get you to a chirurgeon, but first you'll have to answer my questions," the guard explained as the man was helped into a sitting position against a wall. The groans of pain and his panicked state didn't make questioning him easy but it had to be done, they couldn't leave without answers. "You took a young Ydran girl earlier and there have been other disappearances recently too. We have reason to believe you're responsible, so tell me. Are you? And where are they being kept?"

"T-That damn animal attacked me! What are ya q-questioning me for?!" the man shouted, staring wide eyed at Wyth and wincing as he agitated his wounds by moving, "K-Kill that damn thing, it's a wild animal! You're a guard dammit, ain't you supposed to protect people?"

"I am protecting people, I see a slaver right in front of me who could very well bleed out if he's not given help," the guard replied, frowning as he got to his feet, "But... If you don't want to answer me then fine, we'll find another lead. I'd imagine you've got comrades nearby, hopefully one of them helps you." He didn't honestly mean to leave the man there to die, it was more a scare tactic to make him desperate. Turning to leave he'd barely taken the first step before their suspect shouted out for him to stop.

"Alright damn it, alright! Saints don't leave me here!" the bearded man cursed, groaning again as he reached down and held his wounded leg, "Using a damn thing like that to attack me, thought you blokes were supposed to be the good guys... What you're doing is criminal, ya hear?"

The guard rolled his eyes at the irony of that accusation before kneeling before the slaver again. "It's only criminal if a guard does it. At the moment I'm not technically on duty, so I'm not a guard, and neither is that animal, or anyone else here. Just some bystanders trying to do right," he retorted as he reached down and placed a hand on the man's leg, gripping it tightly and drawing a pained groan from it, "Now then, the Ydran girl, where is she? You should know, you had her, tell us where you've put her."

"You bastard! Fine, fine, the girl's over in that building!" the slaver cursed as he pointed to a large stone building, windows boarded up and a chain on the front door. Laying his head back on the building he inhaled before grinning, spitting on the guard and laughing at him as he wiped it away. "But there's more of us than you, and we're all armed! We've got hostages and you bastards can't do nothin' about it! You're wastin' your time here, should just turn around and piss of!"

Nymira had heard a man's scream and opted to follow it, and now she was glad she had. With Asta along they stumbled across quite the scene of a man on the ground being interrogated by the guard, Ethan stood with a bloody Wyth, though she had a sneaking suspicion none of the blood was his own. Cecil didn't look terribly comfortable though that was nothing new. Approaching the guard as she overheard the man shouting about the frugality of their efforts she scoffed, resisting the urge to strike the man for acting so loathsome. "I think we could do plenty, least of which would be kill you and all of your deplorable friends," Nymira said curtly, "But apparently death is too good for scum like you, so we'll have to settle for something close to it. Men without honor like you should be thrown to the flames..."

And that right there was why Nymira wasn't making the calls here. They did need some kind of punishment though, Ethan figured life behind bars would be enough. They had the place now however and most everyone was present, all that stood before them and saving Amuné were a handful of slavers. "Okay then... Now we just have to get inside..." Breaking through the front seemed dangerous though, if Nymira had heard the screams then surely the men inside had too and they were already alert, probably setting up for a fight. Plus as the man said they had hostages now and, if they weren't careful, they may be killed. Amuné may be killed if they didn't do this right. Biting his lip as he stared at the door a thought came to mind then, looking over at Cecil and smiling hopefully. They had a solution to this, one which could take out all the men at once and not result in any deaths. It would be tricky but maybe they could make it work.

"Cecil, remember back on the bridge? What you did to help us get away from that old man? Think we can pull that off again here?" They would somehow need to get water though and get it close enough to the slavers, plus they couldn't get any on the prisoners or they would be caught in it too. Nor did he know where they might manage all of that without the guard catching on to what they were, not unless he stayed with the wounded man while they went about saving Amuné.

"Our best option here is to attack from two fronts, make them split up their forces," Nymira said as she looked to the building, frowning seeing the locked door in the front. She could melt the chains in a second and they would be in, yet as Ethan had considered she too expected an ambush. There was something telling about the front door however and she looked to the wounded man for answers, lowering herself to his level and grabbing him by the collar. "You didn't come out that door, so where is the other entrance? In the back?" When he didn't answer she pressed him back into the wall despite the guard's protests not to harm him. "We won't kill you, but you had best believe I'll bring you close enough if you insist on being difficult. Where is the entrance?"

"Agh, on the side!" the slaver snapped, coughing and rubbing at his collar as Nymira released her grip, "Doesn't matter though, the lads aren't stupid, they'll know you're coming. Like I said just turn around and forget it, you're gonna get yourselves killed."

Opting to just ignore the man this time Nymira looked back at the building, trying to think of an alternative way of attacking it. With the walls made of stone it was more solid than your usual structure, and even with two entrances they were at risk if they barged in. Drawing her eyes up to the roof she noted how it seemed to be made of wood, an idea coming to mind as she went over to Cecil and grabbed him by the arm. "Come here, let me see something," she said as she dragged him closer to the building, craning her neck to look above and gesturing to the boards hanging over. "You can make that jump, yes? They expect us to come from the doors or perhaps the windows... But what about above? You could get up and break in from above, and while some come in from above and draw focus elsewhere the others can use the doors, they'll become disorganized in the confusion and we'll overrun them in seconds." Numbers meant nothing when there was no cohesion, all they had to do was cause chaos and victory was theirs. "Only problem is who do we send you in with..."

"I'll go," Ethan volunteered promptly with a raised hand, "I don't have a weapon but uh... I can distract them at least? I can still keep them busy chasing me while you work on getting in, and I'm safe with Cecil helping me." Not that he wanted to put all of that on his friend but unless he got a weapon inside he was unarmed, and using magic should only be a last resort. Looking at the rooftop before them he debated on finding a way of climbing up somewhere on the side, walking over to the alley and peering around for anything, a stack of pipes or boxes, anything to use. "Hey Cecil, can we uh... Go around back and climb up?" Ethan asked with a nod, smiling knowingly. Since there didn't look to be a way up he'd have to use magic and Cecil would just jump, best to do that without the guard there to see them in action. Last thing anyone wanted right now was things stalling because they were raising flags.
Yumi felt that way however ridiculous it might be, and how couldn't she? She was traveling with Saiyans, people who aggravatingly were stronger than her naturally, even if not more skilled fighters. Then there was Viral who had both strength and skill on his side and Vegeta as well, not even to mention Eris, Orion and the others who had joined them since this began. Maybe it was an inferiority thing, she'd always been one of the best in her classes and now she felt like she was catching up to everyone else. "So why is it okay for you to think that way?" she pressed, turning the question around on Viral as she frowned at him, "I don't think anyone else could have done what you did today, killing those things. And you were sick for so long and still kept fighting and helping us win, no one else could have managed that either. So I don't get where you think you're inferior from." Shaking her head once Yumi smiled and looked to the villagers, finding a little joy in the fact that despite what they had been through they seemed happier, now that she and the others were here. "Plus look at what we're doing and how many people we're helping. How can you feel bad about that?"

So did Shu want someone grooming him? They had tried it before and Takeshi couldn't quite commit, repulsed by the idea he may be picking bugs out of his brother's hair and subsequently eating them. If he just wanted someone cleaning his hair then... Maybe he could manage? Either way they could sort out their hygiene later, Vegeta was needing them to help out with getting their friends back and that was far more important. Maybe not as important as helping Shu with his problem of changing, but that couldn't be helped either, not right now anyway. Moving closer to the portal he peered through their side of things to try getting an idea of it, finding it looked not unlike the dry deserts of Shaharia. For all his eagerness usually to get into the thick of it Takeshi couldn't say he loved the idea of heading over there, and from the sound of his brother neither could he. Glancing back he put on a smile and extended a hand, nodding his head towards the portal and trying to seem confident for Shu's sake. "Hey you'll be with your big brother, and Yumi and Viral are there too, we'll be fine," he reassured, taking Shu's hand and looking at the portal, "T'charrl, keep the door open will ya? We'll be right back with the others, and when we get back you'd better believe we're celebrating!"

Taking a deep breath Takeshi gave Shu one last nod before stepping into the portal, bracing for who knows what was on the other side. As soon as they were through the first thing he noticed was the hot air, definitely similar to a desert. Taking a breath and almost coughing at how dry it felt the older boy looked around where they had come out, finding themselves on a slight rise above the rest of the otherwise flat ground before them. Quite a lot could be seen from here, they had gotten pretty lucky with where they had been dumped out. "Man... Not even a single tree in sight, what a shitty place," he pointed out as they approached the edge of the rise. Peering down over it they saw it wasn't a huge drop to get down, they could probably jump and be just fine. Scanning the area to check for anything of note Takeshi pulled on Shu's arm when he spotted their friends in the distance, pointing to their small figures a ways off. "Look, you seeing what I'm seeing buddy?" he asked before grinning, trying to take off to go down to them. Nothing happened. Furrowing his brow Takeshi looked at his legs as though they were the problem and even went as far as jumping once to no avail, utterly beside himself why he couldn't take off. "Eh... Shu? Can you fly?"
Yeeeeah boi, so far made 310$ for Wednessday lunch and all day today. Not bad for about 22 hours work.
Hey making dat money doe! :D
Post from me is going to wait until tomorrow, working a 17 hour day today and no means can I make a post right now xD
"Yeah, like a trim, you know? Maybe so its short like mine," Takeshi said as he grabbed a lock and pulled it for Shu to see, "I got plenty of hair still, but mine doesn't clump up or get stuff in it like yours." If the little guy was always saying how different he felt then maybe that would make him feel more like them. Then again Aito had said something about making Shu more comfortable and maybe getting his brother to change himself wasn't the way to do that. Damn it, why did this stuff have to be so hard? Problems you could just punch were a lot easier to deal with than this. "Even if you were by yourself you would have helped him, I know you would have buddy. And you know... Maybe after this we can try and work on that? I... Don't know how we're gonna do it yet, but we can give it a shot. That way if you do change it won't be a problem anymore." Takeshi figured he needed to speak to someone else for that, he'd been able to control his Oozaru the one time he'd changed, albeit after a bit of a fit, and now he no longer had a tail to transform with.

Yumi frowned and shook her head, casting her gaze downward with a sigh. "That's not what I meant and you know it. It just annoys me, feeling like I'm somehow inferior to all of you," she explained, "With how amazing you all are it almost feels like all the years I've trained are amounting to nothing. I just wish you wouldn't think of me as some helpless person is all, I'm perfectly capable of fighting too." Suggesting she could spar with Viral was more meant as a compliment to him too, it meant she thought he was strong and hoped to improve by practicing with him. Given how he'd reacted to her idea though Yumi didn't even bother explaining further, not wanting to agitate him any more. Besides Eris and Orion were here now, and with them came quite a few villagers too. That was an awful lot of lives to be responsible for and Yumi felt the pressure of it, not wanting to let even a single one of them be harmed. She'd like to be optimistic that things would work out but, as Viral said, they had no way of getting back still.

Astonishing, it looked like they were actually going to pull this off! Impressive that Haku had managed to track the energy source so keenly and even more impressive was T'charrl's ability to get a rift open. Vegeta watched as the air began to shimmer before there was an audible tearing noise, and what he could only describe as a window to another world began to form. It was small at first, barely a peephole, but soon it had expanded to a size large enough to fit a person. Feeling that more energy was needed he committed even more Ki to the process, watching as the opening grew in size until it was certainly large enough for a few people to fit through. "Great... Fantastic work..." Vegeta panted, smiling through the exertion as he scanned their limited view for any signs of their friends. Unable to spot anything he looked over to Takeshi and Shu for help, calling out for them to come over.

Takeshi wasn't sure what Vegeta wanted until he noticed the portal before them, having wondered what in the world the noise he'd heard had been. So they had really done it huh? And now the guy was wanting him and Shu to head over and help out... Why did he not love that idea? Still their friends needed them and like it or not he and Shu were the only ones not currently tied up with something else. Walking over to the portal he peered into it as if to get a better look, scratching his head as he tried wrapping his mind around how it worked. "So you want us to go get them huh...? I mean sure, no problem as long as you keep the portal open yeah?"
"I see... Well then we'd best pray they're still nearby, otherwise this is going to become far more complicated." Even now Vegeta was thinking, trying to come up with some alternative method of tracking their friends. Without Yumi's Ki signature to follow he didn't know what other means they might have, none of the Beastmen had any energy they could detect and he doubted any of the villagers would either, not that they could recognize them anyways. It was disconcerting, if they couldn't succeed here then it could be some time until they found another option. Furrowing his brow when asked if he noticed anything more Vegeta tried to reach out further, still only managing to find faint traces of Yumi's energy, nothing concrete. Looking even further he still was unable to detect anything, gritting his teeth in frustration before letting out a sigh. "Nothing... There's traces but I can't sense her, no matter how far I dig," he remarked, opening his eyes slightly and glancing towards the energy trail itself, "This is very bothersome..."

"I-I think I found her..." Haku spoke up, eyes still closed and his head turned slightly towards the right now, "It's... Far, but I can kind of sense her... She's moving too..." Could he dig even further than this? Already he was straining just to get the slight sense he had OF HER. When trying to focus more intensely on her he was able to begin and get a picture of her in his mind, and with a bit more effort he even had some kind of sense of the area she was in. Sweat was visibly trickling down his face now as he tried to maintain the image that he had, biting his lip and reflexively tightening his grip a little on T'charrl's shoulders. "I found her, she's t-there..." he mumbled, hoping the others could pick up the Ki like he had, "I t-think that's her..."

"Alright, alright, no haircut buddy, you got it," Takeshi said quickly, putting up his hands with a slight smile, "And I mean... It wouldn't be super weird if you had a little shorter hair, it's not like I wanna shave you bald, you know?" It would certainly make cleaning Shu a lot easier and make his head a LOT less likely to be home for creepy crawlies. Plus he couldn't force the little guy to get one if he didn't want one either much as he might like it to happen. "Oh really? So you keeping Viral from getting even more hurt was... Just an accident then, huh?" Takeshi asked with an arched brow, smirking as he reached over and prodded Shu in the arm, "Or back when we were on New Namek, you didn't help set Viral up to kill that thing, did you? Seems to me like you're way more helpful than you think buddy. And hell I feel safe around you, I wanted you to fight with me didn't I? It's because I know I can trust you and rely on you, and everything worked out just fine. So I don't get what you mean we're not safe around you?"

Yumi had a good idea of how Viral must be feeling right now and was slightly bothered when he tried to walk on his own. He could try and play it off all he wanted but she knew he was worn out and exhausted, the look on his face gave it all away. Why couldn't he just rely on her a little bit? She didn't mind, in fact she minded more that he wasn't letting her help. "Defenseless? When we get home I'll kick your butt without Ki if you want to see how 'defenseless' I really am," Yumi taunted with a wink and smile, becoming a little more serious at Viral's uneasy expression. "There's security as long as you're with friends you can trust. You don't have to worry, if one of those things come after us I'll take care of it." Nothing else was going to harm Viral, she'd tear anything to pieces that tried to so much as lay a claw on him. Just to be sure they weren't being followed she lifted her head and sniffed at the air, smiling when a familiar scent was found nearby. Just around a bend came Orion, followed closely behind by quite a few of the villagers and Eris bringing up the rear. Apparently they hadn't been all that far off at all!

"Ah... And there's our commander and his woman," Orion pointed out with a smile, ignoring the shout of discontent from Eris as he waved to Yumi and Viral. Indeed the villagers hadn't been too far off, merely a moment's walk from the battlefield stashed away in the cave. He wondered if perhaps they had been meant as bait and to lure them into an enclosed space, somewhere that the overwhelming number of beasts they had fought would have been impossible to deal with. Thankfully they had come along before that had happened otherwise they may not be celebrating their victory right now. Stopping before Viral he nodded before gesturing back to the near two dozen villagers they had with them, smiling slightly at their find. "They say only two were killed in a fight when they were taken, otherwise this is everyone. We've good fortune finding so many still alive, have we had any luck on opening the portal?"
The timer is ticking boy, do not fail us >:o
