Kyogen Akechi

Age: Appears in 30's

Gender: Male

Height: 6'5

Weight: 220 lbs

Hair Colour: Black

Eye Colour: Brown

Birthday: May 4th

Clan/Family: Akechi Clan

Race: Shinigami

Rank: 7th Division Lieutenant

Spiritual Energy Colour: Green

Personality: Kyogen has a seemingly carefree demeanor, and takes every opportunity he has to mess with people. Nothing seems important to him, and he does things according to his own schedule.

Deep down, Kyogen still feels guilty, and using his 'messing with people' as a chance to take his anger out, often taking it too far. Infact, his guilts severe enough, Kyogen sometimes wanders into the 'death seeker' category, yet his fear of death makes him never act on it himself. Instead of actively trying to hurt himself, he takes on as many dangerous missions as he can, and always volunteers as vanguard. He also has a tendency to mess with the 11th division as well for this same reason.

With his captain, Kyogen is a complete opposite: he seems insane and unorderly compared to her elegance and control; she is nice, he is down right vicious at times; he is free, she is strict; and her idealism clashes with his pragmatism. Noting her 'change', he always tries to show the world as ugly, and ideals having no place in it. Despite that, he enjoys someone to contrast with him so much, in some ways, it gives him hope.

History: Officially a noble, Kyogen grew up in the Seireiti, as part of the Akechi clan. The entire clan were shinigami, and expected Kyogen to be one from an early age. Not only that, but they expected him to act like a noble. Kyogen never cared about nobility, or the image associated with it. He felt like the Seireiti was stifling, and refused to act the part. He longed to live in the Rukongai.

He and his father often clashed. During one 'training' excersize, his father went too far, beating him in the name of 'training'. That day, Kyogen snapped, and killed his father in the name of 'training' with his zanpakuto. Although it went down as a training incident, Kyogen left his house, and his zanpakuto was left there.

For years he begged in the Seireiti, but was hardly ever helped. In the end, he did end up becoming a soul reaper, partially out of desperation, and partially out of guilt for his father.

To this day, he hates his last name.

Relationships/Friendships/Rivalries/Siblings:

Yosh roped me in for his Lt.
Arieh

Arieh's departure of the bar led him to the most foul beast he had encountered yet, and sadly one he couldn't kill, though he was sure many would pay him for such an act. All he could do was paw at his beard in annoyance.

"Hume, what obligation do I have to provide you with work? Even if you did pick off a few of your fellows, the most you would get would be a raised eyebrow. I come from a more proud people than that. If you are so desperate though, come. Help me slay a hydra. I would like to show you how a proud hunter dispatches his prey. Nature respects strength, and even the most forsaken monster is a part of nature."

Arieh glanced at the people around him, seeing the group of hunters glancing out from the smith shop. The same group that often harried him about his race... and the same group that were wide eyed each time he returned with a hunt's proof, occasional heads much larger than he was. Arieh's annoyance at them turned to a terrifying roar that shook the area. It was relatively quiet compared to Arieh's normal one.

"Human hunters, what is your business? If you are curious, come, come and die unprepared. If you are not curious, leave us be."

With that, Arieh headed to the outskirts of town, he was sure the other beast was still with him.

"I know not about this beast, other than it's a hydra. If it's young, I shall rend its heart, and that's that. If it's more mature, with harder scales, I shall simply outmatch it. I don't suppose the normal head as proof shall do, we shall bring back the heart of this beast one way or another. Perhaps they would believe our story, but I do not like to be shorted or dishonored with pay. I do consider this will kill your obvious boredom. Perhaps you should find a woman."
@rumblestiltskin well, saw this as a community thing, so anything goes. Anyone want to add onto the lore, by all means. An ant dureva, go for it.

Bayera--Olias-- A bar on the outskirts of town
Noon

The sound of ringing glass filled the hall as the lion dureva slammed his drink back on the bar counter. His figure was extremely large and imposing, nearly twice the size of the nearest man to him, though no one sat next to him. He looked remarkably human for a dureva, the only real differences being the fangs he had, as well as a large mane of fur across his shoulders. Next to him sat a large club, which buckled the floor beneath it. He looked annoyed.

"Still no info on that child, hume? What about all that 'magic', and technology you humes adore? What about the gods you all worship? All of it can't grant me one wish?

A frustrated expression came across the bartender's face as he cleaned about the 10th glass from the man. No matter how much this beast drank, he never seemed the least bit tipsy.

"Arieh, with all do respect, we aren't miracle workers."

A growl came from Arieh.

"And don't you dare roar in my bar. People are iffy enough about us serving your kind. Here in Olias, we might welcome tourist, but anything more... is less than welcome."

The lion dureva could only shake his head, and pick up his 11th glass.

"How much?"

"What?"

"How much more do I have to pay in your.... money to increase the range of your search?"

"More than a dureva would have."

The growl returned, before the door burst open.

"Hey, any hunters here? A monster was seen on the outskirts, an elite mark!"

Ariel finished his drink, oddly calmed by it, before calling out to the man.

"How much is the reward?"

"I don't know, it's alot though, it's a hydra! Those things are worth their weight in gold, and they weigh alot!"

That was enough. Ariel stepped off the barstool, which would have sighed in relief if it could, and grabbed his club with one hand, as if it was a wooden stick.

"I will be back in a few hours, barkeep. I do believe whatever the pay, it will be enough money, even for you greedy humes."

Arieh

Concept:

A lion dureva from the a nomadic clan to the East, blessed with mostly human appearance, save for a mane through his shoulders, and fangs. Arieh is very conservative in his beliefs, and dislikes dealing with humes. The reason he is in Olias is his child, who was much more liberal than him, disappeared, prompting Arieh to search the world over for them. Originally a hunter for his clan, he explored and explored their nomadic route, and yet could not find them. It was then with bitter distain, he realized, out of curiosity, the unknown of the hume villages had lured them.

With a heavy heart, Arieh went against the elders, and left the clan. After the death of his wife, he had only two things left, traditions, and what was left of his family, and he had to choose. Picking up a nature gem, he made his way to Olias. However, human villages proved much different than the clan, and Arieh had trouble adjusting. With no money, no one cared about his plight. Eventually, his work as a monster hunter turned out to be the key to him gaining money. With his natural strength, fighting monsters seemed almost easier than dealing with humans. Arieh continues his search, hunting monsters to fund his expeditions, and to to create a reward for any news on what has become of his child.

(Child is vague as possible, to leave open for other people to mess with.)

Equipment:

Nature Gem- Needed for a Dureva to dwell away from their nomadic routes.

'Bane of Atlas'- A club carried by Arieh, weighing a thousand pounds. Forged from an extremely dense material, Arieh managed to order it from a smith in order to hunt monsters. Though it was created by magic, Arieh pretends to be ignorant of that fact. It's easy to disgruntle him by pointing out no dureva could have created such a club.

Abilities:

Extreme Strength- All the mana flowing through Arieh's veins is used to augment his strength many times over. With it, Arieh can bend steel, and swing his club around as if it were a stick. The result is Arieh's blows are comparable to a bazooka going off.

Roar- Strengthening his vocal cords, Arieh is able to unleash an immense roar, comparable to a dragons. This does little more than intimidate, but it does that well.
