"Thank you, Charles, dear," Melissa cooed as she nuzzled against Charles' cheek. "It doesn't seem like it'll last much longer now, unfortunately," she said, looking at the current time and the time the movie was supposed to end, "but we still need to go to the museum. So let's go after, okay?" Melissa giggled, and then turned to the television.
What she had seen and heard had left her (metaphorically) heartbroken.
"W-Wait, what?!" Melissa exclaimed, panicking. "Y-You mean they're NOT getting married?! That can't be true!" The ghost's face was twisted in shock and horror, absolutely crushed that the movie which she thought was so fitting for her and Charles didn't end quite as she had predicted. "There must be a mistake! There must!"
Once the credits began rolling, Melissa let out a heavy sigh and stood up, her eyes looking down at the floor. "Well...let's get going, then, Charles." Her voice was very unenthusiastic as she slowly began walking towards the door. "Perhaps the museum would be a better experience for us than...that travesty." If one listened closely enough, they could hear the words "waste of time" being muttered under Melissa's breath. Clearly, if she had a heart, it would be in pieces right now.
