Nehir

Nehir nodded at the clerk, shuddering slightly at the reminder of The Biting Incident. It took so long to scrub out the stains. Shaking the memories loose, he turned back to Nefrena and Millifluer ready to speak before he noticed Sophie approach, abruptly taking the orc job. He bit his lip for a moment as the ran the numbers, tallying the reduction of each person's share in his head with frightening proficiency. It was...fine. He'd admit to being a little disappointed in the lost coin, having wanted to save up for a new magic robe. But...asking her to abandon the job just because he was feeling a little greedy wouldn't sit well. With him or the guild. "Hello Miss Velmet" He said, putting on his nicest customer service smile. "Glad to hear you'll be joining us!"

Gillian

"SHIT!" Gillian yelped as the first crossbow bolt fired, the twang of its string sounding far louder than it should have. That nem...where had it even come from? He and the other knights had been watching the party like hawks. Its was like the assassin had just been birthed from the ether. Deciding that thinking was better saved for latter he rushed to the princess and the mini captain, skittering to a halt as Gerard charged the assassin; a mad blitz of ingrained instinct and training seeming to over come the man.

Squatting in front of the Princess' and Fanlily's prone forms Gill slammed his forearms together, the alien metal ringing loud enough that he could feel the vibrations in his teeth. The air in front of him warped for a moment before a an red sigil burst to life in a crackle of flame. "You two ok?" he grunted, watching through the shield ward as Tyaethe and Gerard intercepted their tiny intruder. "Cause its REALLY gonna hurt my chances with Alisha if either of you are dead..." He said, trying to sound at ease and just barely succeeding. He kept his eyes glued to the nem, watching for any sign of magic. While he was confident his ward could take any physical attack the little murderer could throw at him, even a minor spell could pass right through. And with how much effort was needed to keep it up, he didn't really like his chances of getting out of the way of one if it came, much less the three of them.

Nehir

"Nehir Rasim, Five of Wands!" He said after leaning back a bit to dodge any further unintentional attempt at smothering him on the clerks part. He hardly seemed phased by it, probably because it happened more than he liked to admit. When your standing height was at almost crotch level with the average human, you kind of got used to avoiding assaults from unwanted body parts. "Miss Alexandria is also a six of cups." He added after the cleric in question introduce herself.

"And the big fellow...I do not believe is ranked." He chirpped after Milli whispered to the both of the nem. "Though as I understand he will be acting as Miss Alexandria's attendant. "

Nehir

"Nefrena is right. After we register it's just a matter of collecting some equipment and renting horses." He said, heading towards the counter. He spared a look back at his companions, taking a quick account of how well off they looked. Milly was probably fine, even if her stuffed animal looked like it had seen better days. Nefrena however...that was a harder guess. If her weapon was any indication she was sitting pretty, but Nehir knew far too many adventurers in his day who blew their earnings on the shiniest piece of new equipment and barely saving anything back. There was such a thing as over investing in yourself. "I've got enough to cover both of those by the way." He said, waving his hand to dismiss any concerns before they arose. "Though it does mean that a portion of your share goes to covering that. The Stables require we pay up front, since we're high risk clients." He continued, tapping a finger to his chin as he broke down their expenses in his head. "Milly and Raffy unfortunately are too heavy to share a horse, but me and Nefrena can do so comfortably and have some room left for the camping equipment....though we'll probably need help getting up them..." He said, more embarassed at the need for aid than the cost saving measure. When you weighed as much as someone else's armor, it kind of became inevitable that you'd be sitting in someone's lap in transit. At least this time he wouldn't be alone in the indignity.

"I can also put forward say... a weeks worth of trail rations between us, though if we stay longer it will be pay as we go. Anything else will unfortunately be a private expense....and be aware, if any other adventure's take this job that means the guild is obligated to give them an equal share. So if you do buy something for this I'd suggest being conservative." He concluded as he stepped up to the counter....rather literally. Thankfully the guild was nice enough to provide a step ladder for those too short to be seen over it normally. "Heyo~" the nem man squeaked, waving the posting in an attempt to beacon the attendant over. "We'd like to take on the orc slaying job!"

Nehir

"Oh uh...nemmish uh..." Nehir sputtered, somewhat taken a back by the language. He spoke it though hardly with as much proficiency as he really aught to. Estival WAS home to a few Nem towns, though it was often just easier to use the common language. He'd really only ever spoke it with his family back home, his mother insistent that he and his younger sister learn at least the basics. "Safas ma tasu. Ahs da yar-ei Nehir. You'll uh...have to forgive me. A little rusty with that tongue." He says flushing slightly, his native accent slightly butchering his pronunciation.

He took a good look at the girl as she landed. She was a little taller than him he noted, his pride wounding a little. She had looked shorter a moment ago atop the knight he'd sworn...That aside, it was harder to tell how fit she was, her cloak pulled tightly around herself like that. But with that sword strapped to her, Nehir was very much doubtful she was as bad in a fight as she said. That thing was gorgeous! It had to have cost as much as two of his scepters!

"I'd be more than happy to have you along Nefrena!" Nehir said, quickly tearing his eyes away from the sword, not wanting to be rude. "It's rare to have another Nem in the party, so I'm looking forward to working with you." He added with a small bow. "And don't worry about the fighting. I'm kind of specialized in that area...So if anything, you're doing me a huge favor. Magic as a weapon is a bit useless if I don't have a clue where to aim it." He said, hoping to bolster the girls enthusiasm for the job and knowing how it felt to think you were the dead weight in the group.

His eyes widened a moment later before he hastily added, "N-not that I'll be aiming at YOU of course! That'd be silly!" he gasped, hoping the girl hadn't yet caught wind (metaphorically or otherwise) of his somewhat mixed reputation.

Gillian

"Her being dressed properly hardly seems your intent Rowan." Gillian said, sipping his wine as his fellow knights flirted with one another. "And please dont encourage him Elwen." He added, refilling his glass as he spoke. "No amount of alcohol makes that a good idea. I'd rather have my arms cut off a second time than hear him attempt to." he chuckled, casting a glance over to the mini-captain and the princess. They seemed to be getting on well, which was a good sign. Even if in so far all he'd heard exchanged between them was the idle chatter that permeated such parties.

He nodded wordlessly to Segmore as he approached and joined their little band. "I live, which is a good sign." He said with a shrug. "All things considered, the party is substantially less life threatening than most of our jobs. Keep expecting things to go ti-" He began, stopping himself. Probably a poor idea to use the more crass language within earshot of their host. "Pear shaped. Like a drider to burst through the floor or an army of highly agitated Nem falling from the ceiling. But the nights young."

I will get one up tomorrow.
Nehir

Nehir shrugged at Ifrari's suggestion. It wasn't a TERRIBLE idea, but he couldn't force Rex to take a job. "I think scolding is punishment enough for now." he said, taking a proper look at the board now that the jobs were posted. There were a pretty good selection today, though that wasn't too much of a surprise. Summer was a busy season for the guild, the trivial work that was the stereotype for novice adventures pilled high as commoners prepared their stores for winter. He regarded the dark elf for a moment as he looked over the potential jobs. "That said, you and him might be good picks for the Haesting mission." He said as he tapped the job in question. "Be a good way for someone to teach him a little patience while still letting him work to his strengths." He added, smiling at the two.

He flinched as Sophie exploded in her usual violent fashion. He shot a warning stare at the girl, brows knitting together for a moment. Normally he'd get on to her like he had Rex, but she was probably still nursing her embarrassment. Adventuring was a profession where you often dealt with people in the middle of a crisis. A volatile temper was a good way to make most situations even more stressful or worse....make the client stiff the guild on the bill! While he didn't question Sophie's character (or Rex's for that matter), it still reflected on the guild. "Language please, Miss Velmet." He said softly but firmly, deciding that a gentle reminder was enough and opting to let the girl cool down on her own.

Looking back at the board Nehir snagged the first task, looking over the details. It was more up his ally than the others. Slaughtering orcs tended to incur less damage to private property, at least on his part. Plus, while deadly, they weren't exactly smart fighters; enough numbers and physical strength to simply overwhelm enemies was a fairly popular tactic with them. Which wasn't exactly great for them when someone, say, summoned a swirling malestrom of lacerating wind directly on top of them, the thought enough to send a gleeful smile to Nehir's face.

"I think this'll do..." He grumbled, his mind already sorting through what he'd need. Renting horses (pony in his case...) would be cheap enough, less than two of the bounties should cover it. He'd need some muscle and a scout for back up, plus maybe one or two more. He glanced around the hall to take in his options. Rex, Sophie, and Ifrari were the closest, which covered all the bases but....that seemed like a recipe for disaster at the moment. Sophie would be hot for a while, which would keep Rex upset. Ifrari...would do what amused Ifrari. Which could be a range from messing with the two to trying to make nice. Hard pass there.

Tristram and his group were too big, despite being a more cohesive unit. The job was good but splitting everything with him on board might be pushing it. Plus Cassia seemed to have a magical talent at ruining his budgets in ways he couldn't have imagined. Liliane was nice enough, but from the looks of it she had two wands with her as it stood. It wouldn't be fair to ask her take on THAT much of the front line responsibility, even if she could probably take it.

He was about to give up when he spotted Mellifleur's tall companion, a monolith of steel armor current hoisting...a Nem girl over his (its?) head like some sort of trophy. As odd as the sight was, Melli was a perfect choice in his mind. Cup and Sword for the price of one share was hard to beat after all! A little...eccentricity on the girls part was a small price to pay, and one easily within the budget!

Pushing his way back through the crowd he approached the trio, waving at the Nem high above him. "Hey Melli!" He chirped, splaying the job posting before her like a small child proud of their drawing, the nem neither ignorant of the cuteness of the act nor embarrassed. Sometimes it was better to lean into how some folk saw his people, and Mellifluer wasn't the sort of think less of him for it. That and maybe he found a little enjoyment in playing the part, if only to amuse the girl. "I was wondering if you had a job lined up yet? If not I'd love to have you and Raffy along!" He added as he glanced up at the 'sword' in question, eyes trailing over the Nem girl. "You're friends also welcome to come along if she wants. It should be pretty easy between the four of us!" he said, smiling up at his fellow Nem and hoping she wasn't being held up there against her will.

Nehir

Nehir pattered around the guild hall, carefully dodging between legs from the less aware passersby. A small pile of documents carefully piled in his arms. He hair swirling wildly about his head as he circled around yet another of the tall folk, his footing oddly graceful for a mage, a product less of any natural alacrity and more many many years of practice. "'Scuse me! Pardon! Sorry sorry!" He chirpped as loudly as he could above the din of the guild hall, few souls actually noticing someone so far below their normal vision.

The Job Board was always so violently busy first thing in the morning. Honestly, it was ridiculous! A orderly line wasn't hard people! Sighing he pushed further into the crowd, feeling himself be rattled against the various uh...waists of the busy patrons. He squeaked sharply as someone's mace slapped against his shoulder, a hushed grumble of mild pain slipping past his lips. As much as he loved the guild, there...were times where the lack of awareness of his fellow adventurers for the smaller among them irked him.

As he burst through the maze of limbs his eyes caught sight of a Hundi barreling into a fellow adventurer. A small bubble annoyance burst in his chest, shoulder still aching from the earlier unwanted bludgeoning. "REX!" The tiny nem man barked, voice finally cutting through the noise with an authority that far outweighed its speaker. Nehir puffed his tiny chest out, one hand falling to his hip while the other clutched the papers to his chest as he stared down at the hundi (or attempted to).

"The bounty board is neither sentient nor mobile!" He said pouting, eyes glaring over the other adventures huddled around the board and pressing for space. He would like to think he looked intimidating, but knew full well that was probably a pipe dream. "The jobs will STILL be there if you wait patiently. More WOULD have been in fact!" He huffs, waving the small stack of job listings in front of him like a scolding mother.

Sighing he approached the board, trying to let his agitation wash out of him. "You will be more courteous to your guildmates, big or small, in the future or I will personally make sure you're on rat clearing duty for a year!" He said brusquely, eyes passing not only over the hundi but several other patrons as well. He didn't really have that kind of authority, but such threats were generally enough to make the more rambunctious members think twice. Taking a few pins out of the board he slowly began to pin the new orders to whatever available spaces he could reach, standing unsteadily on his tip toes and undermining the previous air of authority to a damning degree as he struggled to get anything to a reasonably readable height.
