Seems like all my statuses are "Sorry if replies come slow or aren't great" lately. But, sorry if replies come slow or aren't great . Mental state keeps making writing a challenge.

Bio
This user is a general waste of space. Capable-ish writer, generally able to write in the high casual to low advanced bracket when motivation strikes. Very much prefers a casual attitude about RP though, and is sometimes over-encumbered by life.
I remember E-Feds from back in the day. I'm gonna post and subscribe here to see what happens, but I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to be a part of it.
This is probably dead by now, but if it isn't I'd love to learn about PF2 as I'm mostly familiar with Dungeons and Dragons systems, and have been very interested in seeing about getting the PF2 resources and such myself.
Not that this post is, in any way, new. But since I got a PM the other day about it, I figure I should go ahead and make the note, I'm currently not looking for any of the games listed in this thread. I have another one somewhere, on my profile if you would like to look over and discuss.
Letting someone else take one of the other the 'main character' roles, instead of myself, I think would be more prudent at this point. I am sorry, I guess I got this more sort of Egyptian fantasy vibe, just hearing of the desert setting. Animal headed super beings, sphynxs as a thing, basically i was just inserting fantasy ieas *I* had into something else, and that's not appropriate. So it would be better to let those who won't try to make the idea into something that isn't your own.
Seeing Human, fae, or dwarf, I was sort of hoping that this would turn out to be a little more "desert" centric kind of fantasy spiel. So I think I'm gonna back out on that. Sorry.
I'd like to potentially throw my hat in the ring on this one too. I've been REALLY looking forward to a good fantasy setting that isn't the typical medieval sword and horse. So I'd like to se where this is headed.
*****Thank you everyone for your interest! I am currently at capacity on RPs from the responses I have had so far and am having to suspend this check for now *****
Hey everyone. First things first, User ID aside, you can call me Josh. Or whatever you like, really!
About Me
I've been writing for over decade now, which is arguably long enough to know better. But I can't help myself. I don't intend to brag on myself much, but I believe I can write pretty well. I'm quite literate. But, I can also be a tad lazy. Somewhere in the range of three to five paragraphs is really where I'm comfortable now days, but if we really connect and I can push my muse, I'd love to be able to get back to the point I can write more.
Schedule wise, I do work a fulltime job, as well as keeping up a house. So I don't have the ability to post every day. A quality post every three to four days is about my speed, ad if I can't make that schedule, I'll do my best to let you know. Since I love to talk and goof off with my partners OOC too.
About You?
I'm not the type to make hard set rules. But, knowing what I like in an RP might help you decide if you think we mesh well.
First, I really enjoy the reading and writing aspect, so I'm looking for someone else who feels the same way. Posts that are the most fun to read are the ones that aren't too short, have detail, and carry the character's emotions as well as add to the plot. They were posts that I can tell you had fun writing.
Also, since I mentioned my own schedule being hectic and my posts not being more frequent than 2 or 3 a week -or sometimes less- then I'm perfectly comfortable with, and in fact prefer someone who has their own things going on, and understands my own slower pace.
Some of my favorite games have been with people who were learning my language as a second language. It's not about grammatical perfection, Hell, I've probably made some mistakes here in this post. But effort is awesome! And I can't write well with people who don't want both my best, and their own.
And a last note, I really can't write at all in the first person. Third person please.
Notes on RP
Firstly, I enjoy playing multiple characters, so if you also did, that'd be great. There are way more than just two people in the world.
My most main characters are usually male, as it's easier to be inside my own psyche. I'll have female characters as well though.
If you want romance in the story, let me say up front I'm really only any good and writing man and woman romance. Nothing wrong with any other kind, I just don't do it justice in writing.
Last but not least, the big one is communication. If we're in a game, and you're not happy, ask me to change something. That's cool. I'd rather work with that than lose a partner. If you just don't want to write with me any more, please let me know that, too.
Now, on to the good (at least in my opinion) stuff. The plots. I just can't get behind using just the word "pairings" really. Rather than figure out what two kind of characters we should lock ourselves into, I prefer to come up with story ideas, and then we can just be whomever we want in that story idea. I guess I should call these ideas 18+ for content. Not because of anything sexual, though. I'm fine if that happens, and also fine if it doesn't. But when I say mature, I'm referring to emotional and intellectual maturity.
Roleplay Ideas
Emergency / Disaster / Survival Stories
So in this game, your character would be a great journalist for a respected publication, dispatched to write a very comprehensive story about a guerrilla style war or civil war of some sort in a smaller country we could decide later or even just make up. It's an awful, tragic, brutal circumstance, and your character hopes by shedding light on it, the rest of the world may provide some manner of aid to the people suffering because of it. You've been sent along with a whole crew. Some of them you know, others you do not. People from your own publication are there, and there's also a film crew there to make a documentary, more about your effort to get the story, than the actual story. Unbeknownst to you, my character, part of that film crew, was inserted into this team by a clandestine government organization, to use your mission as cover to accomplish a hit, that will affect the direction of that war, and benefit themselves. For whatever reason, something terrible happens down there, and these two characters who once had very different goals and ideals now find themselves having to lead their companions out of what is suddenly a very different kind of war zone.
A group of friends, young adult, probably on a break from college or something, decide to go on a vacation together. Camping, or renting a cabin in the woods, or something cliche to get them away from urban areas. They haven't seen each other in quite a while since their lives went in different directions but they all care about each other. A few of them will probably bring along friends or significant others who are important to them now, which means not everyone there will know each other as well. Among those who do, though, there will be some kind of shared past experience. Something bad happened in their histories, as is always the case in movies about groups of friends doing things, that will start to drive tension between them when shit hits the fan and emotions run high. And run high they will, because some kind of natural disaster strikes, and it will take everything they have to get back to their normal lives.
They're an everyday family. Except that they're on the verge of collapse. Or maybe that IS everyday. They haven't been that close for a while. Everyone seems to be doing their own thing, and they don't really spend that much time together or really even seem to like each other. The parents are on the very brink of getting a divorce, but during one of their arguments they remembered they really used to care so much for each other. So they're going to put one last effort into salvaging the family. Money was never their struggle, so they're going to throw money at the problem. Maybe going on some fancy trip together will help them all bond. (foreshadowing much?) Be it taking a cruise, maybe they're flying somewhere, whatever. Something happens that they get stranded and they HAVE to learn to be a family again to survive until help can come for them, or until they can get back on their own.
This idea is much like the very previous one. Maybe it's even the same family, except that instead of going somewhere to try and fix their relationship, they're just dealing with their small miseries as best they can, until something catastrophic happens that forces them to leave their home, and strike out to get to a safe location together as a family.
these ideas can also be combined with some sort of occult and or sci-fi event happening to cause some of what is going on.
Medieval-ish Fantasy Stories
*** I am least likely to go for these ideas right now because of bad exeriences with them in the past. I am still in love with the plots but unless they spark real love and joy in you, I'd prefer we try something else first. ***
A monster hunter of much acclaim is dispatched by the crown to go and smite a monster troubling a small but important town at the edge of the Kingdom. The town is a point of trade with the neighboring land, and so the Royalty wants to make sure that any incidents don't lead to an interruption of the peace. Upon arriving however, the Knight realized that the "monster" he was sent for is only a half blood, and that they're half human as well. And that many of the incidents they're supposedly responsible for are actually a result of persecution by the villagers, and are really only self defense gone awry from an inability to control the power their mixed blood gives them. Power which, the hunter realizes, could be the key to saving the entire Kingdom from a much greater threat he's only caught hints of until now. If only he can convince this supposed "monster" to come with him and help him.
A group of previously unrelated people suddenly wakes up shackled and in jail cells. All they know is that the floor beneath them seems to be moving. Who are they? How did they get here? And just as importantly, why? Certainly they'll have to work together to escape. But how could they even begin to understand that they've become key figures in a grand adventure that will change the scope of the whole world.
Some poor soul from modern days finds themselves drawn back in time somehow. (or maybe to a time we just make up) The people here are more primitive, more savage. Maybe they're awed by the new-comer's wisdom, or maybe they're skeptical, even hostile. Will they find a way home? And in the mean time, what will their role be in this new, old, world? *As a note, I see this one being a kind of political drama with this culture the traveler encounters, how they change, grow, and develop as a result of this person's influence, and the like.
Other Stuff
A team of Paranormal researchers, or maybe ghost debunkers, investigates a supposedly very haunted location. They're a healthy mix of everything from total skeptics to full on believers, so everyone has their own take on what they hope to accomplish there. Until something goes VERY wrong and suddenly they're trapped at that location with a very angry spirit or spirits, and beset upon by a powerful curse. They'll have to solve the mystery of the haunting, and put the spirits at rest, if they want to see the sun come up.
A hard boiled Private Eye -Whom I'd really like to be a female in this one, because busting Tropes is fun- takes what she thinks is going to be a case just like any other. Unfortunately, nothing is every so simple, and no one is who they say they are. Suddenly, she winds up in a bad situation, and with no one willing to believe her or help her out, she ends up having to go it alone, to stop something horrible from happening. The "what" in this could be related to organized crime, terrorism, whatever, but SOME group is about to pull of SOME major attack and she's suddenly the only one that can stop it.
The same premise as Take 1, except instead of some criminal organization, she discovers evidence of a cult about to perform some ritual that will have a disastrous evil effect and has to put a stop to it.
A woman is living alone on a large plot of land on the outskirts of a small town. Out in the vastness of space, another race has just learned of life on Earth, but knows little about us. A scout is dispatched to investigate us quietly, but crashes into some of our space debris and wrecks near the woman's home. She saves him, and for some reason decides not to report him to the feds. But somebody must have seen something, because it isn't too long before a pair of federal agents (also played by us) DO show up. So now the investigators have to piece their way through the puzzle of what's going on in this tight lipped small town that doesn't like outsiders, as the woman and her visitor scramble to stay hidden. Meanwhile, what actually *are* the intentions of his people at large?
In addition to those I also have some vague story-bugs dancing around in my brain that would require more development before I put them down on paper. But if you want to help me with any of that, I'll at least mention them. I do like plotting and world development so maybe you've got similar ideas we could smush up together?

Also, I have a ton of characters laying around that I just desperately want to get to play. So if you liked me, but not my plots, hit me up with your ideas and I'll see if I have anyone that fits them. Well, that's about it. Hopefully I hear from some of you.
