Repair: Diesel is an excellent mechanic and machinist. His ability to troubleshoot and jury rig parts makes him an almost irreplaceable asset to both the clinic and the team.
Unique skill:
Swarm (only once): Diesel activates a tracking beacon that he almost always keeps in his pocket, said beacon draws every drone in his personal storage that he has outfitted with a receiver to the area. As his main priority is always their remote pathfinding, they'll most likely arrive unscathed. While the majority of them aren't fixed to the point of combat operation, their arrival is an almost guaranteed distraction. The signal is incredibly long range, even able to transmit across the continent with very little interference.
Personality: Diesel is the type to work on several projects (that he often refers to as his children) at once with the fervor of a madman. Unfortunately, he often leaves several of such projects unfinished as he continually takes on new ones or upgrading his completed works. As far as the team goes, he tends to act fairly distant despite the fact that if it came down to saving either them or his children he would begrudgingly save his allies. The only ones that often see the caring side of him are those that have worked for Vanessa's clinic for a while, others probably see him as a loner grease monkey.
Bio: Jacob Fuller was the child of two scrappers in southeastern Detroit. Of course, the scrap that they sold wasn't necessarily legal as it was often pilfered from the junkyards of megacorps before the items could be melted down and re-purposed. Because of this upbringing, he was very well acquainted with the appraising and repairing of trashed goods. His family got by for quite a few years before stealing from the wrong yard. It was when Jacob was eleven that they were caught rifling through an Ares Macrotechnology Scrapyard. For some shady reason or another the Knight Errant were patrolling the area. Naturally, it was shoot on sight...and so both of Jacobs parents were. The young boy was, however, hidden in a shipping container filled with fried drones that had been nearby when the patrol showed up.
Said container was shipped to a small company in Australia. Apparently the business was only interested in the internal components of the busted robots. Once the large crate was received, the workers were stunned to find a malnourished kid and a working drone that had been patched together from the surrounding busted bots. Of course, they still scrapped the now crying child's project, they had to at least try to break even on the shipment. The young orphaned child was abandoned in the city with a small credstick that one of the men had given him out of pity. Thankfully he was picked up by a group of runners that frequented the cheap foodstand he was using to sustain himself.
While he wasn't able to go on runs at his age, he quickly made himself useful repairing the team's drones and cyberware. After four years, the group got Jacob a surprise gift, the team of runners had paid and arranged for him to have a datajack installed while they were on another mission. The clinic the operation was done at was run by none other than Jordan Kimball, a fairly prominent cyberware surgeon in the underground. While Jacob had expected to wake up to his adopted family standing over him, he was greeted by the surgeon's daughter Vanessa. He later found out that the team had been doublecrossed and eliminated while he had been recovering. Jordan allowed the young man to stay and help around the clinic. Years later, the surgeon passed away and left both Jacob and Vanessa to run his business. The latter eventually discovered that her father was in fact a fixer for the group of shadowrunners that Jacob had lived with.
Eventually, Jacob cleared out the old team's hangout and collected their spare drones and weapons to use for himself. Vanessa, in the meantime, was gathering her father's contacts and other information in order to take his place. Once he learned that Vanessa was gathering a team, he begged her to let him join. She was reluctant at first, given everything he had been through, but truthfully he knew more about the world of shadows than she did and would be a valuable asset.
Years later, Vanessa had gathered a team of sorts. It was a bit rag-tag, but everyone in it was an expert in their own right. Jacob, now going by his streetname 'Diesel', has taken on the role of the team's rigger and mechanic.
