And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

If you need a more detailed description of what a Scrounger is, here's General Creft, one of the more influential ones.
Which news should be told first, the good or the bad ones? Well, good news was that Jace would not starve on a stranded escape craft in the middle of nowhere, since he had actually wandered closer to something. Oh, and he would not starve either, given somebody actually picked up his distress signal. The bad news would be the fact the area his shuttle had wandered to was currently part of the Ragnarov Fleet exploitation zone and that the signal had drawn their attention to the vessel they had presumed to be but aimlessly drifting junk.

The local guardian department had decided not to bother the leadership on Universal Nova to make a decision on the matter, so they simply relayed the information onward and sent a frigate to check out whoever this 'Jace Rosson' was. "Keep them standing for the time being. Much easier for the leaders to decide what is to be done when nothing has been done yet", were the orders given to the fetch team. Orders that would either be fulfilled or poor auditory sense would be regretted. Of course, were the target to show signs of ambush and/or hostility, the group would have much greater freedom of choice.

Not long after the message had been sent, the escape craft's communication receiver crackled to life. "This is RGV-D14-322 hailing 'Jace Rosson'. You have entered Ragnarov Fleet governed space without proper identification, but we are willing to let this transgression slide on the account of the contents of your message. For your sake, we hope your word is true. Prepare to dock. Message repeating once", the radio shared with him before doing just as it had threatened and repeating. After the second batch, "Message ends" took the place of the repeat announcement.

And true enough RGV-D14-322 made its way before the straggler's vessel and opened one of its docking bays, guiding the pod inside with several low intensity tractor beams. The ship was considerably bigger than one might have expected to get in a corner of nowhere such as this, but his maps evidently had not updated since the Fleet and UFP had struck their territory deal. The ship was surrounded by aliens of different species, the quite robotic Scroungers forming the majority. They were all armed and no distinctively human creatures were in sight.

Considering his past as a forced miner and affinity for strategic thinking... Yeah, Creft might be interested in having a word with this man for sure. And given how the Fleet operates with its operations this should be quite interesting indeed. I'll toss a bunch of NPCs your way, given how the rules state that anyone can play those. Just so I can get him closer to where my actual PC is.
If I had fitting characters, I sure would hop on in. But the case of things is, I don't. Duke Virne who might be curious enough to head out himself is currently occupied and General Creft would have little reason to leave Universal Nova now that he has returned. Unless you want a group of nameless Ragnarov Fleet soldiers to fetch you and migrate to Ragnarov Fleet controlled space topic soon after, I don't think I can be of much assistance.

That being said, if that would not be a problem...
Soon all of the newcomers had dispersed from the immediate vicinity of the station the guard captain was taking care of. The pink haired woman and the half-orc had headed off to help escort the prisoner they had brought with them, the halfling girl that apparently was leading this bunch had loudly declared they'd be going for a piss now... wasn't she an interesting one, this... Parum, she thought was her name. Then there had been the old man who now talked with the messenger that... oh yes, she was awaited at the big tent. "Jamison, keep a look out for things while I go visit the big tent. In case the meeting is earlier I'd not like to have Morndath wait", she gave an order to another guard and headed off to see if the message had been truthful. She swore to Tiamat if this was another prank...

Parum's search was not interrupted by many, though when moving in the vicinity of the cave mouth and the big tent she was ordered to move away once. Knowing it would be unwise to return, she would stay away for the time being... but being there had revealed the location of the poles Brannor had spotted earlier to her. And unlike him, she could get closer too. And would you look at that, one of the prisoners bound here was indeed a dark haired half-elf. It might be too much to hope that to be Leosin, but unless Brannor would have found anything on the contrary, this just might be it. She lingered for a moment... should she risk talking to the man?

Orchid's search was... less fruitful than he would have hoped. Try as he might, the people here could only offer 'no can do' or 'talk to me again when you pass the initiation rites'. And to his dismay, there was no such thing as a forge here. Apparently the army did not arm themselves here, hinting at the fact this might actually be but a forward camp built to make it easier to attack and keep watch over the eggs. And yet there were people in the hundreds around. One man that wore an eyepatch even laughed at his notion about unbreakable armour. "Look at you, looking for things like that! No such thing as unbreakable armour in existence, lad! Come, have a drink and tell me what has you so upset!" the apparent veteran would suggest, sensing the relative inexperience of the green barbarian.

As for Torus, now under the pseudonym of Torag, he was being led towards the mess tent by Rebrer when he was asked the fateful question by the fellow undercover agent. Could this man be trusted, the old druid wondered to himself. It was not a matter they could respond to that lightly. The tone used was almost accusing. Yet this man had only spoken the words in a hushed tone and out of earshot of others, even tried to cover up for them at the guard captain though his attempts had not been entirely successful. Maybe, just maybe, they would be worth his trust. He was leaning on the side of that being positive, however.

There go all of the possible contacts for Duke Virne I guess.
Dyn'yer'zhead was quickly growing frustrated at the decisions made by Sauron. Not because they would have been ineffective as a whole, oh no, he had to admit they made the chaos of the battlefield much more manageable. What did cause him great personal strife was how he kept constantly moving the enemies out of his reach. As soon as he had but struck them once, they went poof into some demiplane, only to appear again later and then promptly vanish once more. He ground his teeth together, cursing the warlock's name in Deep Speech, the silent voice travelling little further than the opening of his mouth.

To top it off, many of his spells had been prepared for handling groups. Groups. And if what this male would-be-Koan was not making it difficult to affect multiple targets at once, he couldn't tell what would count for such an achievement. Yes, that was what Sauron was to him now. A would-be-Koan, to be added to the list of names he did not appreciate around him, but would have to tolerate due to Jill saying so. She had brought the man that had stalked her to them as an ally. A fairly questionable decision to be sure. Perhaps he still had the chance to have her see the wisdom in not doing so? But on the other hand, she still spoke for Koan being a valuable part of the crew. Granted, she was not as intelligent as the beholder, but she still had her function.

Yet this was not the time to get lost in one's own thoughts and the faux captain darted off, seeking to annihilate the final remaining opponent. They were already looking quite beat up, so him finishing them without even expending any of his valuable resources would be more than achievable. He reached his position in the opposite corner from Cynthia, the lesser trusted of the two merfolk to join them from the coral city and let loose. Swinging his weapon in wild, unpredictable arcs, he was sure the strikes landed and with any luck would also be enough to finish this ordeal off.

All right. Feel free to.
He had to admit, he had not expected this to be what they would see when they entered the room. Wick knew the man that was in here with the other, the one that he could only consider to be the Green Man. He fit the description too well to be anything else. The discussion between them was brief, but as soon as the Shadows began to appear, Theodore sheathed his sword and began to pull out his crossbow, only to find that the man had vanished into thin air. And that the Green Man was about to strike at them.

Excluding the group that split off behind them, one that Theodore would have preferred to be a part of due to the light that shone within him, but he also understood he was needed in here. He walked behind Cesar, his eye discerning the strengths and weaknesses of the towering man before them. The information he gathered did not seem that spectacular at first, all things he would have expected from a Paladin he had long since deduced the man to be. But. "Hmm, he is a tough one... magic will not do much and fear is not likely to have anything to latch on, that I can tell", he said out loud, sharing the bare minimum his allies would need. Anything else would take time for him to say and then to process.

He pulled out his crossbow and held it loosely in front of him, keeping the mask on his features. If Cesar wanted to show his spirit for adventure once again by engaging in a foolish one on one gambit, he would allow him that, if only to show that they were a unit here. They would undoubtedly do better as a group than he would alone. And experience was the best teacher. Yet it was possible the opposition would be having none of it. He was ready on his feet, just in case.
