And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
 • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
 • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
 • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
 • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

I suppose it might as well be time to move on, with some contributing less to the decision than others. Please provide me with a Perception check @Norschtalen.
@Norschtalen Kyra finds a bunch of Kobold tracks going back and forth from the stairway to the right, most approaching by the edge of the cliff and passing the spear, but heading back in a more centre aligned path. The other direction is more densely populated in steps, and sports both small and large reptilian tracks, as well as boot marks of humanoids. Clearly the way the cavern naturally curves to is more travelled.
There was silence. The adventurers disturbed the bats once, but they managed to not do it twice. Not all of them were successful in keeping the racket to a minimum, but it seemed that it was, at least, acceptable to the chiropterans. The swarm remained in the roof, leaving the room free to explore. It was no small space, reaching much further than the three pillars that had been the most visible mark for the party to look at, but darkness had hidden most beneath them. Even now those of them that could not see in the dark were left begging for the sunlight to reach just a bit further, but the dark of the cave was overwhelming. Too many corners. Not enough sun.

Those that had a knack for this sort of an environment would find that the larger area behind the pillars would soon split three separate ways. A staircase hacked into the stone on the right, a cliff of sorts towards the front, and the cavern bending towards the left into another space in entirety in the direction that remained. It seemed safe enough for now. Other than the ambient noises of the cave, not much was left. But of all the things to note, the most obvious one to Brannor if nobody else was the repugnant smell rising forth from beyond the drop before them.

Were there a source of light, perhaps it could be said better what actually was down there. For now, the smell was a strong enough of a deterrent. Likely a dump of some sort. Nearby, on the right side of it, something suggesting the sort could be found. A spear with a pitted blade laid on the floor between the cliff and the stairs. Clearly using this as a weapon would be inadvisable. Disposal left unfinished, or here for a reason? It was, after all, the only clearly man made item in the room.

With the last of the results in I'll be able to determine what comes next. Please hold, post to come tomorrow!
Yep @Zverda, we roll guild dice and hyperlink them through the result syntax.
It seems we have the conclusion to the short rest. Anyone that used hit dice to heal may recover an additional four (4) points of HP thanks to Parum's song. In case your next course of action is to return through the batcave (not the one with batman), I am still missing Stealth checks from Brannor (remember you were granted Guidance) @The Harbinger of Ferocity, Orchid @Lucius Cypher, Kyra @Norschtalen and Torus @Zverda. I'm unsure if Parum can be of assistance with the sneaking since she needs to focus on her own just as well, so we'll not account for that.

Then again, you could head back through the mushrooms and not risk rousing the attention of the bats. It's a whole another thing whether you'll find anything worthwhile there though.
I am afraid I will be having to bow out of this particular RP. I've been spending too much time on roleplaying online, and been somewhat careless with what I have been taking on. Add in a change in circumstances in my personal life and the already wobbly tower has fallen down. It has not been an easy decision to bring the axe down on an RP I took no small part in seeing to life, but this has ended up on the list of those that will be left behind. I am sorry for the inconvenience this causes for anyone.
I would like to point out I'm still expecting to hear what you did on your short rest @Ryonara and @Norschtalen.

And @Zverda, you were taking over Torus for the rest of this dungeon yes? I'll be sure to get the necessary resources to you soon.
The ambush of the small predators after blood had certainly made its mark on the adventurers. The bats all around them continued their wild swarming, cutting visibility to near zero and filling their ears with loud squeaking, but thankfully the large shape of a giant hyena could serve as the beacon for them all to gather at. Around the animal shaped Torus, they would have a conversation in gestures that would end after a short while in the majority vote suggesting they would retrace their steps, tend to their wounded and then see to heading deeper into the cave.

Beyond the screeching cloud, back on the pathways among mushrooms growing tall, they would find their desired quiet. Relative quiet at the least, as slowly the bats would calm down. With the intruders gone, they would not be spending all too long frantically flapping in the air. But if something good was to be said about all this, at least the liveliness of the swarm hadn't alerted any additional cultists to their presence. This must be common enough an occurrence to them. Would make sense, if a few people walking past in armour was enough to set them off.

For now, there was time to rest, recuperate, bandage what was hurt. Grit one's teeth together, pull one up by their bootstraps and reinforce the determination to end this menace that they had come to end. The exit was not too far if it would call to them. But most of them wouldn't be likely to consider it an option. Kyra had the town of Greenest to avenge. Parum had further tragedies like this to prevent. Brannor would see to the same, and make sure the madmen were driven to the grave they deserved. Orchid had his glory. And Torus? A druid could not suffer the Queen of Dragons to rise. An end to all nature was no fitting future. Preventative measures need be taken.

Taking into account the current tally of there only being one opinion on the contrary, unless further suggestions against seeking a reprieve along the already taken path rise I shall see to advancing us tomorrow. Would do so tonight, but I find it prudent to give all some time to consider the arguments made on both sides.
