And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

We are missing @Zverda's call @Lucius Cypher, and on top of that I am somewhat busy. Stuff will move on once I wrap up my holiday business, with or without the declared action of the last group member wuth their standin character.
Oh snap. Spooky tentacles coming out. Is it possible for Orchid to see what the source of these tentacles are?

I am afraid that is well beyond the 60ft darkvision range.

On a related note, could the party have a crude, or even well developed if one is so inclined, map to better represent the exact positioning of all things? I suspect that this might be mighty relevant with something that seems to have very, very long reach and is no kobold or dragon from the look of it, @Hekazu.

I will be able to provide one tomorrow at earliest. Right now is quite busy a time in my personal schedule, but that's the holiday season in general isn't it?

I'll be taking in all simultaneous actions before declaring results, but I have made note of @Norschtalen's shot.
The first attempts at the assault had not been as notable upon the man sized objects in the dark, but they had had an effect. Something to further prove the fact that an effect had been had was already stirring there in the dark, out of sight of those who lacked the eyes to see into the deep recesses, behind the shroud formed by lack of light and snuffed torches. Had this room always been this dark? No, now that Brannor raised his nose he could smell it in the air. Faintly, but it was there. Smoke. There had been fire in here, but it had been shut off.

The first warning had been received. The second was a sudden clacking of a series of small falling rocks coming from their side. And then the threat itself rose to the air. It wasn't a creature leaping out to them. It wasn't a piece of ammunition either, soaring through the air with the intent to maim. No, what came at them didn't even choose to arrive from the direction of the caged off stairs that had been the first source of suspicion. What came at them was a group of six smooth tendrils rising from the area down to their right, the way that the eggs they had attacked were placed in. They did not quite reach the group yet, having to close a bit of distance still after revealing themselves from the edge, but they were most certainly en route towards the adventurers.

That's an arrow bouncing off of the shell I'm afraid @Norschtalen.
Just in case it went missed, there is a set of stairs going down to the area with the eggs. It is just caged off, though there also is a key right up there against the wall opposite of said stairs. Mentioning since possible usage of rope was brought up so that you know your options.
Most objects are immune to poison and psychic damage, rendering them immune to Vicious Mockery @Ryonara. This includes dragon eggs in shady corners, or outside of them at that, but the latter does not really apply here. Also, the target would have to be a creature. And be able to hear you.

You are welcome to use the sling though, and the pebble does seem to hit the oval object at a good angle, some of the force transferring on over instead of simply making a glancing blow at the side. But the sound is not the most promising, it being a click much like you'd tossed a stone at the cave wall, if a little less resonant.
Right, so if that is the decision…

Kyra sees no signs of further opposition, though given this is hard stone floor one can never be too sure.

Those who choose to wield a bow or other ranged weapons against the eggs are free to make a single attack roll against the shapes in the dark. Once that has been seen to, I will move us on with a post of my own.

This direction didn't seem to serve much purpose, and so the only find they made here was soon subjected to the half-orc's machete, the rope ladder being cut at its supporting points on the sides, making it a notably one way chute down from the height of thirty feet, the bottom of the remaining ladder difficult if not impossible to reach now from the floor of the space they were in. This was safe enough, the adventurers determined and turned around, focusing their attentions on the opposite direction of this little passage instead, passing once again the carcass of the winged kobold and the chest of treasure within the ornate chamber.

This next area they would descend the stairs into was large enough for some of its shady corners to be even out of reach of those with darkvision or sources of light on their person. Here on the Northern side of the room, to the left from the perspective of the adventurers, opened up an elevated observation area, whereas far in the distance to the back one could, just barely, make out an edge that marked a sharp descent. Yet more interesting was the large area to the right of them, down from the observation zone they were approaching. Another wide ledge marked the drop into another pit area, from whence most of the echoing sounds of dripping water came from, stalactites in the ceiling being the obvious cause of this. It was warm in this room.

Yet once more the signs of the cult having done its work here were visible as one looked towards the middle of the platform, where another caged off set of stairs descended down below, a key hanging from a peg on the wall just opposite of it. Aside from the bars though, not much could be discerned of the cult's presence, other than several dark stains upon the floor. Whatever those be. Yet here appeared to be where the party struck gold: Down the ledge, in the darkness below, three feet tall oval shaped objects stood among the rocks. Perhaps they had found what they came looking for?

I made an attempt to post this yesterday, but my internet decided to crap on itself. Worry not, I trusted on the autosave to preserve the message. Actually, worry all you want, because it did not. Lovely. I suppose my browser settings must have eliminated it from existence. Or it remained unused for too long, which is also possible and even likely, though why would it display it at the bottom of the screen as a saved draft then? I digress.

As I had intended to say back then, to avoid an entire post of noncontent I shall share OOC what you find on this new path. The passage ends soon after turning towards North-West, the otherwise dead end featuring a rope ladder descending from above. It appears to end at an obstacle of some sort, though it doesn't quite look like stone as some light is making its way through. A rug? Kyra made no notes of movement in the area she guarded.

So now the question is, do you climb the rope ladder and if you do, in what order? If you do not, do you head back the way whence you came, or will you head East to see what's over there instead?

@Zverda@Ryonara@Lucius Cypher@Norschtalen@The Harbinger of Ferocity
You came from the direction that says "IN", which would be the stairs heading down from the North. Cyanwrath's corpse is in the other room that did not contain dragon imagery and scribblings and all, the one those stairs come from. Since I'm pretty sure you are going to be continuing your search from this latter room.
