Sounds fascinating and I would definitely be interested. I am curious about the balance regarding the ranking system. For a character who defies orders, or fails to follow through on particular orders, or some similar situation will you basically be performing a court martial(should it be warranted)?
Also, what about the orange territories. Are they unclaimed? Wind Tribe?
Personality: A charming fellow with an easy smile and a relaxed posture that he has carefully sculpted over decades of practice. He relies largely on his silver tongue to get him out of trouble when it rears its ugly head. Although his past has given him a long list of skills, his personal view is that a battle avoided, is a battle won.
Short Biography: Vaerune began life among the lower class, without the comforts or the distractions of nobility. Raised as the son of a disinherited minor noble mother and a simple hunter father, opportunities for a better life were few and far between, even considering the lifespan of dragons. Still, he had food in his belly, a roof over his head, and his father was an excellent teacher when it came time for him to begin aquiring a trade. His mother, however, had other plans for her son.
Vaerune’s mother taught him that words and favors, could often cut deeper than even the sharpest swords. When he was not out hunting with his father, she ensured Vaerune was taught not only the basic education given to minor nobility, but that he also understood the value of information. These were the first steps along the path that would take Vaerune into the underbelly of dragon society. In this environment, he would learn the true value of his mother’s lessons, as the only way one prospered was to trade favors like actual currency.
Vaerune has spent over a century learning what he considers to be his new trade, simultaneously, and perhaps unfortunately distancing himself from his parents. He has traveled to many of the cities in the Nocturne-controlled territory, making friends among the merchant class as well as the “scum of society”. He has always been eager to learn, and has had several teachers in the arts of “dirty fighting”.
When the news broke of a new species called “Humans” arriving, Vaerune remained apart from the discussions. Although he doesn’t see how they could be a great threat, he has seen too many dragons fall in his world due to what they didn’t know. Nobody knew the humans.
