<Snipped quote by Hidden Lilly> Good luck!!
Thanks! I honestly think we should play through PD or skip to an after classes end for the day time but not necessarily to the next day. Give some of the characters a bit more time to interact. I know that at some point I want to work in that Makoto goes to talk to Mimic and see how he felt her powers. He may end up being one of the better teachers for her since it is no-nonsense and can guide her on how to use her powers?
I still say we should just skip. I'm slowly losing interest. I feel like nothing really happens.
It takes a while for things to happen, but it does give a lot of chances for character development, to really get into their heads. On a side note, I have my last 2 midterms this week (Yay!) so I may be off and on with posts. I'll likely still be able to post once a day but if i disappear for a few days you know I've gone to hit the books :P
he's set up a bunch around the school though, so be careful! :P
Flood looked at the both of them. "Sorry about that." He watched the students storm off and his smile shrunk a little but he began laughing when everyone else laughed. "You guys might want to go change, class will be starting soon." He began taking his jacket off to reveal another clean black jacket underneath. His jacket was the only thing not covered with paint.
Katherin smiled at Makoto. "I was considering if going to Mimic's class covered in paint might give me an advantage." She answered with a smile. She doubted it. Mimic wasnt the kind to notice a student attire. She climbed to her feet. "Came on Makoto. If we're going to change we have to hurry." She held her hands out to the other girl.
Makoto took Katherin's hands and hoisted herself up. She accepted Flood's apology. "I guess it just wasn't meant for me to wear these clothes today."Makoto joked, thinking back to earlier in the morning when the sprinklers had gone off. She had one change of clothing, she hoped that these clothes would not be stained to last her until she could accumulate more clothing to wear.
Katherin grunted when Flood hit her. The breath was temporarily knocked out of her but luckily she wasn't hurt. She lay there trying to catch her breath and seeing stars. She head Makoto laughing. She didn't know how the girl could laugh. They looked like idiots all covered in paint. Then she looked at them and joined in the laughter. "Well this is one way to add color to my day. Not what I was think but its one solution." She shook her head. "Now I have to change. I don't want to go to Mimic's class like this...actually..." She paused to consider the idea.
Makoto's laugh fizzled out as she turned to face Katherin, the large smile still stretching across her face. She waited for Katherin to explain her comment, prompting her by saying; "What? What have you thought of?" Makoto couldn't help but notice that the students around the trio were not happy with the paint splatter. Many had in fact stormed off. She wondered if they were going to get into trouble if a teacher walked this deep into the cafeteria.
"Don't sit underneath it, its a timed paint bomb!" Flood yelled when he heard a ding from above. He jumped over the table and pushed Katherin and Makoto out of the way as the paint splashed all over him. He looked at them and opened his eyes. He was covered with various types of paint and colors. "I'll never understand why women take so long to do makeup. I just did it in 5 seconds."
Makoto shrieked when Flood tackled both herself and Katherin out of the way. Paint had still managed to get on some of her clothing, which made her angry and concerned. She didn't have many changes of clothes that was for certain. Now, as she looked to Flood, proudly covered in many shades of colour she couldn't help but smile. Her smile grew and widened until it was a true beaming smile. Her world had fully crashed yesterday, had totally spun upside down and spat her out dizzy. For the first time in a long time she truly smiled. She even, slowly, something began to bubble up inside her. Makoto giggled at the situation she and her friends found themselves in. She sat on the floor, enjoying the moment and it's silliness. "Flood, you look ridiculous."
Flood looked at Makoto's food and shrugged. He went to grab his own food and sat down next to Katherin. He saw everyone leave and snickered when he saw some of their bruised faces. "Heh, I beat some of those guys up earlier. Stupid bullies." He ate his food rather quickly, then looked at the ceiling. He moved slightly to the left when he saw one of his timed paint bombs on the ceiling. "How did I even get up there?"
Makoto keeping a weather ear and eye out for Phoebe managed to catch a bit of Flood's self-talk. She paused in her eating, curiosity causing her to respond. "What?" Makoto looked up, not really seeing much until she realized there was a well hidden shape that didn't quite belong. It was spherical and dark to match the ceiling and shadows, but the beams were all very straight edged. She focused her gaze on it. "Flood, do you know what that is?" she asked, squinting at the object, trying to get a better look.
Makoto followed Katherin to the table, and were quickly joined by Flood. Makoto welcomed Flood with a warm smile. "Good afternoon Flood." She said, giggling softly at his odd comment. "We were having a hard time finding somewhere to sit and figured that if you were with us, we may have had better luck." Flood's blunt comment about how other student's treated him from yesterday seemed to gold true as some students at the part of the table where Katherin and Makoto were sitting paused eating and fairly gracefully got up to leave, all the while giving cut eye to Flood. Makoto didn't like how they treated him, he really didn't seem that bad outside of being a bit of a loose cannon. By the other student's leaving however, it left room for Flood to sit down and join Katherin and Makoto if he wanted to. There were also a few other seats at the table open for other classmates if they wanted to sit with the trio. Makoto took a bite out of her sandwich, it tasted amazing. The food always seemed to be so fresh and well kept here. Even the fruit that shouldn't be in season tasted like they were truly sun grown.
Katherin smiled at Makoto. "If I can figure it out I might take you up on that. Im not sure that I explain it to myself yet much less anyone else. Maybe after this weekend I will have a better idea." She hoped so. She scanned the crowd and was sad not to see Phoebe or any of her other friends. She supposed that Phoebe was with Ryan making wedding plans. Or talking to Nikolas. The though made her sad.
Makoto smiled at Katherin, encouraged that she would be taken up on her offer as much as to encourage Katherin that it will all work out. "There is no pressure, you don't need to explain if you don't want to. I won't force you." Makoto maneuvered the other students with Katherin as they got in line to receive food. Quickly selecting their food the two looked out into the sea of people once again. "It's pretty crowded in here, should we find somewhere else to eat?" Makoto asked, only seeing a few single seats here and there. "I guess in a room this busy, Flood's reputation with the other students would come in handy." She joked, trying to make Katherin laugh.
Katherin nodded. "Yes I took him up on the offer. I need to go home. Maybe some time with dad will help ground me. I've been feeling lost lately. Maybe reconnecting to my roots will help." She hoped it would. She didn't know what else to do. She felt like her friends were growing apart. She needed to know if her father had ever experience that when he was at the academy. Maybe he would have a suggestion that would help her deal with it.
"That's good, I hope it helps you out too." It saddened Makoto that Katherin would feel lost. She wondered how and in what way her new friend felt this way. Was it social? future goal based? She wasn't sure and as Katherin seemed deep in thought about it, it didn't feel right to ask those questions. As a result, Makoto posed a statement instead. "If you need any help, please feel free to ask me. Alright?" The two girls rounded the corner and walked through one of the many sets of double doors to enter the cafeteria. Makoto quickly scanned the area for Phoebe and Flood. She didn't see either of them as of yet in the large, noisy, and crowded room.
