Hello all. I am an experienced writer who is writing my own fiction stories on the side. I can role play any genre. What I love most is being able to go-all-out when weaving tales with other writers. It just makes the story more interesting, so I can't wait to write with you. :)
Gaea is the name of the planet in which our role play takes place. On this planet there are a multitude of fictitious races and creatures, but the main dominant races are the Humans, the Giants, and the Fairies. In Gaea, there are multiple religions whether they be legally established churches or temples or hidden cults. The major religion, mostly practiced by humankind is the belief in the White God. This zealous belief created the Church of the White, a church and a self-righteous order that attempts to maintain peace and order throughout the lands. Warriors of The White, or otherwise known as Holy Knights roam the lands, visiting every village, town, and city, spreading the White God’s influence so as to bring more to the light. The Holy Knights insert themselves in the geopolitics between warring states, hoping to find peaceful resolution, and if not, enforce the White God’s judgment. These powerful warriors, wielding legendary weapons blessed by the White God are the self-proclaimed judges of Gaea. They believe their decisions are backed by the White God and often times they are, whether the White God commands that they reduce a kingdom deemed wicked in his eyes to ruin or to take no sides at all.
The Holy Knights’ jurisdiction reaches all lands but one. They were able to achieve peace with the Giants after years of war. Many Giants have been converted to the White God, and although rarely seen among humans, they are free to roam their lands without discrimination. They fairies, however, remain elusive to the church. Many Holy Knights sail the sea, searching the oceans for the hidden Fairy Island. Cloaked with magic, the island frequently appears for a moment before it vanishes into the blue. The island is such a potent reservoir for magical energy that it is said the fairies don't ever age. They could live for eternity on their island and will never by natural means. It is why most fairies are xenophobic and refuse to ever leave. Why leave and risk death when you can live forever?
The fairies are very protective of their home. Every now and then, a shipwreck victim or visitor manages to wash or come ashore the island. The magical alarms are triggered and alert every fairy on the island of the intrusion. If the victim thought he or she was saved, they were mistaken. Imprisoned and left to rot in their dungeons or face swift execution, the fae judge how they judge and need no White God or Holy Knight to do it for them. Lo’ anyone who come ashore Fairy Island for if they are not fae, they will pay (as the rhyme goes).
Our story begins with the current situation in the human kingdom of Caroline.
The Church of the White has deemed the Caroline Kingdom a sanctuary and have taken up residence in the castle. There were rumors of the kingdom housing rebels. It began as a story about the people being upset with the kingdom for cowardly summoning aid from the church rather than use its own armies. The rumor has thus fabricated into a claim that worshippers of the Black God have appeared among the people and that the worshippers threaten to rebel against the Church. The people angry for having not seen their king and queen since the Church’s occupation show resistance to the Church only bringing false-truth to the false-claim.
The Great Holy Knight Hector Mineaus has turned the castle into a secure base for the Holy Knights. News posters are covered in slanderous claims of Hector deeming himself king by his own mandate and having conquered Caroline in the name of the Church and White God, but Hector denies these claims. Those discovered speaking such lies have been publically executed for all to witness and fear. While the king and queen are safely in his possession, the princess is not.
Hector has ordered squads of Holy Knights to search the land for the fleeing princess and bring her back alive and unharmed. The princess runs and hides, searching for the seven warriors who once opposed the White God, believing that they are strong enough to set her parents and kingdom free from Hector and the church.
This game was greatly inspired by the anime Nanatsu no Taiza a.k.a. The Seven Deadly Sins. You do not have to have seen this anime to participate in this game for this game is running on its own original setting. I made this game a year ago, and now I'm bringing it back since the show has resumed with Season 2. But yeah, as it says above, you do not have to have seen the show at all. Just read this OOC and you will know what you're about to get into. I got rid of some old ideas that I felt didn't help the game much.
This game will be high fantasy, which means majority of the creatures found in this game will be entirely of our imagination, and if they are creatures we want to keep in this game as common knowledge, then there will be a Beast Log to record them.
The technology level of this game is mostly magic and medieval but some kingdoms have access to steam technology as well as magic-operated/magic-producing machinery called Arcana or Arcs if it is a weapon. Arcs are rare weapons that are beyond expensive and are greatly desired by any kingdom, military, crime element, and individual due to their immense power.
This was the basic synopsis of the game. If you are interested, then please continue to read and instead of just announcing "interested" in the Interest Check, please reserve a role. This will let me know that you have read this line and are capable of reading comprehension as well as following directions.
There are two gods in this world. The White God and The Black God, although, not much is known of the Black God. The most active god has always been the White God. However, the story goes that between the gods Man was created as a balance. Man was neither good or evil and leaned, whichever way Man desired. Some chose the path of the White God and gave up their freewill in service to It. They were called Holy Knights. These powerful knights were angelic in appearance and with their power granted by the White God, they dedicated their lives to bringing justice to the masses. No kingdom could ignore a Holy Knight's audience. They are the wandering judges in the land, but that didn't make them good. Self-righteousness could be an evil thing, and many kingdoms and villages were wiped out if ever a Holy Knight deemed them to be wicked. The White God is praised to be an inspiration of hope, salvation, and purity - everything that humans desired in a true god, but perhaps the god's light shined so brightly that they were blinded?
The Black God faded from history, and is imagined to be a fairy tale. It has become the shadow of the White God. Some even question if a Black God even exists. There were seven warriors who opposed the Holy Knights. Seven who strangely bore the strength to ward off the power of the White God. This disturbed the god, and while the seven warriors gloated over their powers and victories, their complacency left an opening. The White God personally attacked the seven warriors and branded each warrior with a curse/sin. They were banished across Gaea, and their minds shattered so that they could not remember who they are and what they did. The Holy Knights hunt them, seeking to destroy them while they're vulnerable. Time will only tell when they succeed.
This game takes place ten years after the White God's banishing. In this game, the seven deadly sins are: Pride, Greed, Gluttony, Lust, Envy, Wrath and Sloth. They are equal in might; however, some may be physically faster or stronger than the others depending if they specialize specifically in those abilities. The Sins are extremely powerful to demigod level and sometimes tipping into god level. The Holy Knights are similarly powerful, but still only challenge a Sin in numbers. There are only few Holy Knights in existence that can take on a Sin one-on-one and those Holy Knights are not to be taken lightly.
The Sins before their curse were good friends and were quite a colorful bunch with all of their interesting personalities making them quite the dysfunctional family. Since they were scattered by the White God's phenomenal curse, the White God has taught Man that the Sins are evil. Any being bearing the Brand of the Seven is an evil person to be turned over to authorities immediately. Because of this social stigma, the Sins with their fragmented memories believe themselves to be evil. Their crime? They cannot remember but figure it was something awful. Wherever you place your Sin in this world, in whatever situation, is how they will be found. Dead? Alive? Imprisoned? Working at a bar? Whatever you choose. Each Sin has a wanted poster posted with their face on it for "x" amount of gold (however much you think your Sin is worth).
Each sin has one ability. Not three in one. Just one ability. This ability is not to be confused with their already freely given demigod physical abilities. There is no point in listing what's automatically granted to your character when you do your profile. I should only see one ability listed under ability. If you want super speed to be an ability that makes them the fastest Sin, then you can do that but be warned that that is your ability. Likewise, for strength, durability, etc. We will see who follows these directions.
As the game states, there are only seven sins. I will not be accepting more than seven people. I, the GM, have chosen a Sin (Gluttony) so there are six openings for Sins. I do not have a limit on Holy Knights just yet. The Sins can be male or female. They do not have to be all male or all female and there doesn't have to be an equal amount of either.
You can use this site to get fancy fonts for decorating your profile: 1001fonts.com You just treat the link to each font banner like an image.
Name: This is not the name of your Sin. This is your character's name. I would like for all Sins to have a first and a last name to show that you thought this profile through. Age: The Seven Sins are practically immortal but if your Sin "appears" to be a certain age, then go ahead and write what they "appear to be." Sin: Lust, Greed, Pride, Envy, Wrath, and Sloth (You probably notice Gluttony is missing. Yep, taken by the GM) Height: Weight: Hair Color: Eye Color: Gender: Written Appearance: You can go into full detail about your character's appearance from hair color, highlights, eye variations, scars, tattoos, etc. This is not the section where you describe their brand. That's below. Brand Appearance: What does their brand look like. Describe in detail and also mention where it is positioned.
Personality: You do not have to be overly detailed with this. Just a summary. I'm sure your character's personality will blossom in game.
Background: This is what the Sins can't remember. Do not worry about this section. We will fill this out later once we know who is accepted in the game. Because then we can collaborate on some plot related information. So yes, you can leave this section blank.
Current Story: What has happened to them since? Where are they now?
Weapon: Only if your Sin uses a weapon. The weapon that they do use will be an Arc. How did they get it? You can make up the story. Maybe it was a special memento? Maybe they looted it off a defeated opponent?
Ability: Notice that this isn't plural. One ability.
Evelyn, or Eve, [GM-character] is secretly the daughter of King Patreus and Queen Melody Caroline. The Holy Knights have taken her kingdom, claiming that they are protecting it from a resistance that has arisen to chase the Holy Knights out. The Holy Knights, however, twisted the goals of the resistance around, telling the royal family that the resistance was raised to oppose their rule and not the Holy Knights. Eve's family was thus contained, placing the Holy Knights in complete power over her kingdom. Her mother helped her escape before she was taken and she has since traveled the world in search of the Seven Sins, who she feels will end the Holy Knights reign and return the world to peace.
Eve is unaccustomed to life outside of her palace where servants waited on her hand and foot, and so she has a lot of character development to go through. There is a secret divine power within her, and it's not of the White God, which can be revealed in certain situations in game. The biggest revealing is how she is able to restore the memories of each of the Sins. Her "kills with kindness" personality makes her a princess that the Sins are eventually all willing to fight for and protect. Eve will learn to be the monarch she is destined to be.
Written Appearance: As a princess, Evelyn always wore dresses. Gowns, corsets, and more gowns. She was never allowed to show any skin below her shoulders. Such a life was normal for her and she didn't think much of it. It wasn't until she was chased from her kingdom that she found herself having to wear other garments. She had to dress herself in whatever she could find, giving up her puffy and decorative dress. She travels in the clothes of a pauper. Itchy sack cloth shirt and pants and deer skin shoes. Her milk-white skin is smudged in dirt and her once wavy and shiny brown hair is tied behind her back with an old shoe lace. She still holds onto her family's signet ring, wearing it on a leather thread about her neck so that it's hidden beneath her shirt. There was a reason why the Carolines hid their daughter behind layers of clothes. She is beautiful and had many suitors wishing to take her hand...not anymore.
Personality: It is Eve's first time outside the castle and she is very naive to being swindled by the clever tricksters of the streets. She speaks very formally, which is usually a sign of a noble upbringing. She is respectful and timid of the strangers who were either formally her subjects or from another kingdom entirely. Eve knows how delicate she is, but she is determined to save her parents from the Church of the White. She doesn't know if she will even succeed in finding the Seven Sins. She doesn't even know if she will survive the journey. All Eve knows is that she has to try!
Background: Princess Evelyn Caroline is the daughter of King Patreus and Queen Melody. She is their only child and has been safely guarded from the world until now. Everything began when a Great Holy Knight by the name of Hector Mineaus came to her kingdom to assist them in dealing with a barbaric clan of giants. The clan's leader was named Barakas and he was known to feed the humans to his giant hounds. With the king's permission, Hector was allowed to lead his army against the clan. He succeeded in slaying Barakas, and the Carolines honored him with a celebration. It was at the celebration that Hector approached Evelyn and secretly tried to woo her. Evelyn shyly rejected the knight's attempts to his silent anger. The day after the party was when the Church of the White was suddenly upon the capitol. There was talk of a resistance against the Carolines. The story was that because the Carolines had requested aid from the church to handle the giants rather than send their own army that the people were in outrage. The Carolines weren't even given a chance to have an audience with their kingdom before they were moved into a sanctuary that seemed more like a heavily-guarded prison.
Before the Holy Knights could detain Evelyn, the king ordered her protector to take her out of the castle. The protector against the Holy Knights orders did as his king commanded and fled the castle with Evelyn. He rode as far as he could with the knights on his tail. When he feared his horse would tire before they would lose them, Eve's protector stayed behind to fight the Holy Knights so that she could escape. Eve, afraid to be alone in this foreign world, reluctantly rode off leaving her protector behind and the last relation she had to her family.
Current Story: Her horse long gone and her dress long ruined, Eve was forced to travel Gaea alone. She is learning to endure the hardship of survival and no longer having servants to rely on. There have been those kind to her, but there were more who were cruel, forcing her to be wary of strangers. Having discovered the wanted posters for the Seven Deadly Sins, she remembered tales of their power and decided to find them. They just might be strong enough to take her kingdom back from the church and free her parents.
If more than seven people show interest in this game, then selection for this game will be based on your character's concept. It'll be completely subjective and based on what the GM deems is good for the game. This does not mean if your character isn't selected that you are a bad writer, you can't come up with interesting ideas, or anything negative along those lines. I will merely be making a selection based on what I think is good for the story. So if you're confident, you really like this idea, and you want to give it a shot, then you're good to go. Note: That this subjectivity will only be used if the role you chose is being contested by another player. If no one challenges the same slot you wanted, then you are good to go.
Rules
1. No drama. You think this rule wouldn't need to be up here, but unfortunately, there are some immature/moody folks who like to air out their dirty laundry. If you think I'm going to put up with it, you're wrong. You will be removed from the game in a heartbeat. "I had a bad day," is not an excuse. If you're having a bad day, then you better go find something to do that makes you happy because if you're letting your bad day create a toxic environment in this game, you will be removed without mercy. 2. Communication. I understand how college is. Been there. Done that. I know it can be busy and exams take up your time. HOWEVER, you are completely capable of spending not even 1 min, coming online and saying, "Hey, I'm going to be busy with exams for the next "x" amount of days." That's all it takes. Very easy. Or even, "Hey, I'm going to be on vacation from [blank] date to [blank] date. Again, too easy. If you disappear without telling me where you went for 7 days, I will have everyone move on without you. If you're gone for 30 days, then you will be removed from the game. 3. Activity Level. I want this game to be fun and to move as we make it move. So I don't expect the activity level to be anything extreme unless we're all having a good time. I guess what I'm saying is, this will depend on us. No one will be posting over anyone in this game (unless you're mysteriously absent). If someone hasn't responded, then we will wait for them to respond. If there's a 1 on 1 dialog between characters that has nothing to do with other characters, then those can be collaborated using Pirate Pad or PMs. What most certainly won't happen is people posting 10 times per day. That's not going to happen. 4. Have Fun and Story Weave. If you haven't noticed, this world isn't in depth because I want us all to move this story and create plots together. I, the GM, will be the overall guide for the plot and I will make some exceptions for side stories, but the amount of imagination you put into each post is all you. Try to make a character that you can feel and love. Do not just try to join this game because it seemed cool and you're jumping on the bandwagon with everyone else. Your character, and the love you have for him or her is going to decide how long you stay in this game. No lie.
I am only allowing at maximum 2 GREAT Holy Knights, and you are free to make a Holy Knight that was formally bad and has become good. Holy Knights will more than likely know each other and serve together. They can even be siblings. Whatever you decide.
Name: I want for Holy Knights to have a first and last name. Age: The Holy Knights are not immortal like the Seven Sins. So an actual age must go here. Allegiance: Church of the White (default allegiance) Position: What rank is your Holy Knight? Holy Knight, Great Holy Knight (if they're a Great Holy Knight they're one of the most powerful HKs and they're more than likely the captain in charge of a unit. So expect to NPC his/her unit.). Height: Weight: Hair Color: Eye Color: Gender: Written Appearance: You can go into full detail about your character's appearance from hair color, highlights, eye variations, scars, tattoos, etc. The Holy Knights are very angelic in appearance due to their affiliation with the White God. They appear how the Humans would expect any servant of a the White God to appear.
Personality: You do not have to be overly detailed with this. Just a summary. I'm sure your character's personality will blossom in game.
Background: Unlike the Sins, the Holy Knights do have a background to complete. Why did your character become a Holy Knight? What do they hope to achieve by being in service to the White God? Why do they believe in the White God? These are just example questions you can answer in your profile.
Current Story: What is their mission now?
Weapon: All Holy Knights wield Arcs. This is where you describe your Holy Knight's Arc and its power.
Ability: The Holy Knights, similar to the Sins, have an ability theme. Choose one ability for your HK.

The waves of his sound can produce so much destabilization that objects and dimensions can be torn apart.
Invigorate: Saul’s sound ability can manipulate the emotions of others. His melodies can energize and hypnotize others into believing they are happy, motivated, or determined. His music can soothe, lowering one’s stress and anxiety until one could practically fall asleep. He is often the one influencing the love people have for his music without even realizing it. Depending on the melody, he can influence his audience to feel happy, excited, sad, sexual, angry, violent, suicidal, fearful, or even absolutely crazy. Sonic Shield: When Saul learns more about his abilities, he will be able to generate enough sound with his guitar to create a field of pulsing sonic energy that will shred objects that come in contact with it for as long as he plays. He will be able to leap great heights and distances, appearing to be gliding through the air. Sound Absorption: As silly as it may seem, Saul can be healed by music—sound specifically. His cells will absorb the sound energy and convert it into biochemical nourishment for his mind and body. This passive ability is active before his awakening and could explain his mysterious attraction to music. Sound Aura: Saul’s unusual aura is only detectable when he is either singing or playing music. Similar to the rising and falling energy detected by a sound meter. His aura is aqua-green like his hair and will rise and fall to the pitch of his singing or the volume of his playing—or both. When he’s not singing, supernatural beings could easily confuse his aura with that of an average human.
Special Ability:
Fan Worship: Unknown to Saul, the power of his demonic form grows depending on how many fans he has. His fans worship him, and by doing so, he is empowered. If he was to become a global sensation, then his power would be nearly unstoppable.

Minor Skills: Saul has a good gut instinct that often warns him when something seems fishy. Often times, he can call out a scam when he sees or hears one. He is no fool unless it involves his dreams. He knows how to save money and survive in an urban environment. Ever since he turned 18, he has learned how to be independent.

History:
A child was born on a winter day in January. He was discovered in Stanley Park (Vancouver, CAN) in the middle of the night by a lone black creature believed to be a wolf. A woman lie face down with a pool of blood and pink entrails splayed beneath her. With its nose, the beast nudged her over as though she had weighed barely a stone and found the babe still alive, having been kept warm inside her ruptured womb. The child laid on a bed of intestines. A steam rose from his milk-white flesh and a crown of blood stained his head. The wolf gazed upon the child with its three red eyes and smiled before it licked the babe clean. The creature gathered the boy into its teeth and fled into the night, leaving the woman’s mysterious death without explanation.
Three years later, a man drunk and wandering the park at night was resting on the park bench with a bottle of tequila when he noticed a small naked boy. He thought the booze had been tampering with his perception when suddenly a large black dog came before the boy and placed before him a heart. The drunken man watched as the boy crouched and took the bloody organ into his hands and began to eat. The drunk, horrified, quickly rose from the bench and charged at the wolf. He threw the bottle of tequila at the beast supposedly scaring the creature away as it fled with a smirk on its face. The child dropped the heart and attempted to run, but the man scooped him up and held him tight as he screamed and struggled.
It has been many years since that day. The memory was forgotten. The boy named Saul Gagnon after his foster father Paul Gagnon had forgotten that night. Since entering Paul’s life, he was able to live as a normal boy would. Paul stopped drinking in order to raise him right. It was the least he could do since his wife had left him, taking his children away. As Paul raised Saul, he noticed that the boy had an interest in music. He started singing as soon as he could say “Papa” and that was how the boy’s dream was born. Piano lessons became guitar lessons. He was the music teacher’s pet and performed at every play, choir concert, orchestra, band—you name it. Saul took creative writing to better his poetry and lyrics. If there was anything he could do to better his music ability, he did it.
By high school, Bodwell to be exact, Saul was winning several talent shows and had even started a band that fell apart before college. Saul auditioned for the Vancouver Academy of Music and was accepted. It was his first time being away from Paul for he had lived with the man his whole life. Paul had long forgotten the incident that had brought the two together and had felt comfortable letting his son go on his own. Once alone and going through the struggle of maintaining his apartment and grades, Saul was visited once again by the black dog.
@Tenma TendoApproved. Make sure you add this sample post to your CS. I should have the IC post up tonight.
@YahrlanI wasn't going to punish you for choosing Fairy Island since I had absolutely nothing posted about it, so I allowed you to continue to write your CS and sample as is. But for the IC, if she's not a fairy, then she won't be able to venture freely on fairy island. They will lock her up (like they did Grimjet) and execute her. The fairies don't even allow Holy Knights on their island (thus why they are on an island). When I get the IC up tonight, I will highlight more about the races and their capitols. You're approved.
@SkwintI can't approve this. Sorry dude. Thank you for your interest. I am only treating this game very different from my other games because this one I am trying to ensure is long-term. I am way more lenient in my other ones and do not use the same standards at all. So it is no offense to you.
@Majoras EndYou were cutting it close with this one. It barely made it lol. I know you're in my other one but it felt weak compared to what you normally do. I guess it was due to the deadline and the procrastination. It felt rushed. Even a small product can have a smooth flowing beginning to end. I see Greed and Gluttony either being comrades or hating each other. Mostly because Greed is greedy and I know Grimjet would not like a greedy thief stealing from a thieving pirate lol. I will approve it.
So at this point. I didn't receive any sample posts from the reservations for Wrath and Lust. Therefore, those are opened. I am still at work and will be for some hours. I will be taking any CSes along with writing samples for the last two sins. When I get home, the IC will go up. I can only do so much from my phone. O_O"
Hello all. I am an experienced writer who is writing my own fiction stories on the side. I can role play any genre. What I love most is being able to go-all-out when weaving tales with other writers. It just makes the story more interesting, so I can't wait to write with you. :)
