New year, new RP, and I'm super excited about it!

Peacock

Name: Peacock (formerly Patricia Watson)
Title: "The Murder-go-Round"
Gender: Female.

Appearance: Clicky! Four feet and six inches of murder with metal chompers, empty eye sockets and a neat looking top hat.

Personality: Outspoken, light-hearted and prone to bouts of extreme violence, quite possibly simply for the sake of violence. Having had something of a troubled past, to put it lightly, using violence to solve problems is never entirely written off as an idea. Despite her rather intolerant and rude attitude towards authority figures, Peacock enjoys being the one wielding authority and, given time, starts to see people as members of her slightly bizarre extended family.

Ideals: Freedom for all! Heck, if you want to beat things to a pulp, blow things up, spend all day watching cartoons, why shouldn't you be allowed to do that? It's a good as aspiration as any other, right? You betcha!

Biography: "Once upon a time, there was a sort-of-orphanage in a quaint little town called Rommelgrad that just so happened to be on the wrong side of history and ended up being little more than a wasteland of dust, bones and Generally Unpleasant People. There were two friends at this orphanage, one called Patricia, the other called Marie. There were others, but for this story, let's just worry about Marie and Patricia. So, anyway, we're including "slavers funded by the mafia" in the list of Generally Unpleasant People, and these slavers show up, take everyone away from the orphanage and that's that. Patricia, being a wilful sort and no mistake, got ever-so-slightly torn up, you know, as an example to the others. Turns out nobody is that interested in a blind girl with no arms, so before you can say "hey, you big palooka, can you give me these peepers back?", Patricia was out on the streets, left to fend for herself in a world that's not so great.

Then Patricia gets picked up off the streets by a ghoulish looking guy, called Dr Avian. I'll skip ahead a little here, because the long version is pretty long, the short version is pretty straightforwards and telling the story is getting really quite dull. Okay? Okay! Doctor Avian has this plan, with some other folks, to defeat the Skullgirl. Skullgirl is bad, causing trouble, so turning Patty into a biomechanical murder machine is clearly the way to go here. Great job! So there's two parasites, one's called the Avery Unit - that's the little bird-lookin' fella - and the other is the Argus System that does, like, a whole load of stuff, but of most importance is probably the ability to see through these eyes. Neat. So, short version, Avery conjures up weapons and snarky one-liners, Argus mucks around with your body, and that's basically that. They did mention something about not being able to save her mind though.

So, skip ahead, turns out the Skullgirl that's caused all of these problems in the Canopy Kingdom? Yeah, that was Marie. There's a fight, and a fight, and another fight, and it ends with Marie passing on, some acts of bloody and hilarious vengeance in her name kicked into the Mafia, and that's pretty much that. Everyone in Dr Avian's lab is basically dead, the world is sort of saved, and there's nothing left to do but find somewhere else to cause trouble. That's all, folks."

Powers:
Never Outgunned! Courtesy of the Avery Unit, Peacock can summon (and dismiss) a variety of weapons, though these manifest as ridiculous, cartoon-esque things. Fortunately, they still hurt, and that's what really counts, even if they don't last a particularly long time.

Never Alone! The Avery Unit is Peacock's constant companion; it looks like a little blue bird with fangs, has eyes on his tail, and lives inside Peacock's hat. For reasons unknown, it also chooses to dress like Peacock.

Never Mind Your So-Called Laws Of Physics! Peacock seems to operate on what could be considered "cartoon physics"; heavy objects can be lifted if it's thematically appropriate, huge explosions leave her covered with soot and her hair swept back, can teleport through black circles painted in the ground, and the like. Good for annoying scientists and great fun at parties.

Weapons: Courtesy of the Avery Unit, all of them. Seems to have a preference for a dirty great big revolver.

Equipment: A top hat, a pocket full of loose change and a head full of nonsense.

Quina gave one last look around the chamber in the castle as Ezio, then Crash, then The Hunter stepped through the teleporter to begin their adventure, or expedition, or journey to rescue a princess. Some of what Ezio had said had managed to sink in, like an unwary traveller being gobbled up by quicksand. The other things that Quina had been told stood around the edge of the quicksand, watching, and fervently hoping that the same thing wouldn't happen to them.

"Quina see Slayer on other side," Quina took a step towards the teleporter, then stopped to look up again to the Slayer, clearly curious about something, "and no be scared. Quina hero! You see. Also, bring pipe. Pipe look good."

With what presumably passed for a heroic speech in Quina's mind concluded, she, or he, takes the final step through the teleporter and the first step out into the forest. There was no sense of disorientation, or confusion, on the part of Quina; stepping through a teleporter to travel to some unfamiliar place made just about as much sense as anything else that happened to him, or her. After extracting an oversized fork from her, or his, sleeve, Quina held the weapon/cutlery in one hand and gave a little salute to Crash with the other. Then, questioning whether or not the salute was with the correct hand, Quina swapped the weapon to to her, or his, other hand and saluted with the other just to make sure.

"Made it Orange Team Leader Crash," said Quina, as if there was any doubt of that whatsoever, "Hero Quina is.. oh, trees, forest, good place for hunting, probably mushroom too, exciting..."

Quina's voice trailed off into a quiet, rambling monologue about mushrooms.

The White Rabbit

Appearance:
Without Glamour: A little white rabbit that'd surely pass for a normal little white rabbit, were it not for his tiny round spectacles, assorted colourful waistcoats and a preference for walking upright.

With Glamour: Pale and rather short at five feet and seven inches tall, Mr White peers at the world from behind a pair of round spectacles. Curly light brown hair pokes out from underneath his ever-present bowler hat and, underneath the layers of waistcoats and jackets and shirts, Mr White is a rather lean and wiry sort of fellow. He appears to be in his early twenties at best, and in desperate need of a day out in the sun.

Job:
Single-handedly attempts to run a little shop (next door to "Blame It On The Bogeyman"?), called Don't Be Late, that sells watches. Samuel prefers making, and fixing, the watches over actually dealing with the customers who are, at best, a source of mild terror.

Personality:
Skittish and nervous, as if always threatened by some major calamity that only he is capable of perceiving. In his calmer moments, Samuel is quiet, polite and only occasionally flinches at loud noises. Samuel, of course, contends that he is very easy to get along with, provided that you don't approach him from behind, make any sudden moves, speak too loudly, arrive too late to any agreed upon meeting or touch anything in the shop. Finding solace and some relief in the act of making elaborate plans, schedules and timetables, his small room in the Woodland Apartments building is dominated by a huge calendar on each wall, each date filled in with plans, contingency plans, appointments, and deadlines.

Here was a world where madness was sanity, and the only thing that one could expect was that very little could be expected. For a creature that wanted only order, well, this was less than ideal. After an ill-advised attempt to lure a Mundy into Wonderland to overthrow an insane tyrant of a Queen, the White Rabbit decided that it would simply be best to keep his head down while he still had a head to keep, serving once again as a herald and trying to keep everyone to some sort of schedule.

Then the War came. Not the usual internecine squabbles between the people of Wonderland, but the terrible Adversary. While some bravely decided to stay and fight for a world that was not so much lost to madness but born of it, the White Rabbit took one of the very first carriages out of Wonderland and to the world of the Mundy. Here, at last, was a world where things mostly made sense - even if, for those long early years, he was confined to the rather more hectic world of the Farm. After some scrimping, saving and a year or two of running a mail-order business selling pretty (and expensive) hand-made watches underneath the noses of the others at the Farm, the White Rabbit could afford a glamour, a place to call his own, and some semblance of an ordered, quiet life.

It turns out, however, that the world outside the Farm is just as loud and chaotic as the Farm is.

As a creature of Wonderland, there's always something not quite right about them, which some seem to carry with them wherever and whenever they go. Been thinking about it a little and, honestly, I'm happy with The White Rabbit the way he is. A second neat ability would be nice, but the ones I've come up with don't feel right and, the more I think about it, the happier I am with the character just having one fairly chaotic ability in Wonderland Time.

Well, um, that didn't take as long as I thought it would. Obviously, this is a first draft, I'd like to add another ability, flesh out some stuff, and so on. But hopefully this'll get the ball rolling!

I shall start working on my CS now! I don't think I'll be doing a canon character though, mostly because I'd worry that I'd mess it up.
