Vampires. The supernatural creatures of myth and legend. Creatures older than most human civilizations dating back to the biblical times of the first humans. The origins of vampires starts with the story of Cain and Abel. For those who do not know, Caine became jealous once God refused his offerings for Abel's, and subsequently killed him. After he killed Abel, Caine was cursed by God to become the first of the vampires: beings blessed with immense powers yet cursed with the thirst for blood, the inability to live in the sunlight, and many personal demons to overcome. The Book of Nod refers to Abel, through the eyes of Caine, as sweet and strong. The second-born son who tended the animals and sacrificed the best youngling upon an altar to his "Father". In turn, Abel was "sacrificed" by his brother Caine. Caine felt that offering Abel's blood would be his best sacrifice, as this action was justified out of love, especially since his prior offerings were not accepted.

All vampires, or as kindred as they go by now, descend from Cain and all share the same curse. Decades have gone by since the time of Cain and most kindred today would consider his existence to be a myth, yet the one thing that has remained consistent throughout the ages is the survival of kindred society. Survival, however, meant that they would have to adapt like the humans and thus the Camarilla was born. An organization that has existed since the renaissance era led by the princes of cities wherever there is camarilla presence. It has kept kindred alive and hidden from the world for the most part. To most who are part of the camarilla, or the ivory tower, as some call it, the organization is somewhat corrupt, flawed, and works to benefit only those in power, but it works.

There are powers that oppose the organization, which are not much better and those powers are unfortunately causing trouble for the camarilla. Things are getting tense on all sides as the organization struggles to hold power and keep everything from breaking into all out war across the city of Seattle. The prince has been busy mostly keeping the peace and now has a need for a coterie to keeping things from going to shit.

Hello! if you're reading this and made it to the end of this poorly written interest check, that means your....well interested, so with that allow me to introduce myself. I'm Hydde and I'm hoping to get a Vampire the Masquerade rp off the ground. This story will take place in seattle and no you do not need to have prior knowledge of vampire the masquerade as I will provide most of the lore in the rp, if you do then that's good as well. I have an idea for a story and depending on if this gets up and running, i'll fix most of what I have above in post. I'm still learning how to be a GM so I want to keep this rp small, so I am looking for about four people to do this with. As far as posts go, I know people have stuff to do which is why I am expecting a post if not every week at least bi-weekly. Word count and post length do not matter to me, I'm not expecting a novel, but I don't want one-liners either. That's it

Appearance: Vanessa is of average height for someone her age with a slim build. She has pink hair that she keeps in a messy ponytail and two eyebrow piercings. It is pretty obvious she has had cybernetics implanted from the glowing lines of metal around her eyes. Her choice of fashion is very simple as she usually wears an orange jumpsuit adorned with a designs along with black boots and carries a backpack where she keeps all her tools. Under her jumpsuit, she wears a white tanktop. Her most notable feature is the tattoo she has on her back which has been known to give her some looks from people who have seen it.

Background: Vanessa originally grew up in the backstreets of Megacity 01. She was the eldest of two children born into a single parent household. Her childhood (or lack there of) was not the happiest moment of her life.

Her father died when she was young which left her mother with two kids to raise, but raising two kids in the backstreets was not easy. Her mother worked as a contracted ModDoc for a local hospital which led her to be gone for hours during the day which left Vanessa to take care of her younger brother. Vanessa took an interest in her mother's profession at a young age and on the rare occasions when her mother was home and she didn't have to watch her brother, she would spend time learning everything she could from her mother. during her time in school she would take an interest in various biology and anatomy classes.

While her mother made enough money to support them financially, it was not enough to send any of her children to a good college, not that she wanted to go college as she figured it was a waste of time. Most good ModDocs were not licensed and most who were never spent a day in class in her eyes. She figured she would find her own way to get the proper documentation if she needed to, yet as it turned out, she would need it and the cost was not cheap. At the age of 16, her mother died and she was left to take care of her brother, being only sixteen however, she was left to the mercy of the city and that meant the orphanage. Life at the orphanage was in her eyes, the worst place she ever lived and that was saying something living in an apartment in the backstreets. The only reason she stayed there was for her brother as he was the only person in her family she had left.

She did almost anything to make as much money as possible in order to get her licenses including having a small crime spree under the orphanage's nose. Smuggling small arms, drugs, and other things to make a little extra money on the side for her licensing well into her late teens and even earned herself a nickname. Queen of the teenage underworld they called her, she even did a few small mods her and there thanks to the lessons she learned from her mother before she passed. She wasn't proud of that part in her life, but she did what she had to do in order to make a better life for the both of them. Her choices in life would come to haunt her later on in her life. At the age of 18 she had to leave the orphanage leaving her brother there by himself and with no place to go she took to the streets.

She continued her illegal activities to make money in order to survive and did so for about six months much to the dismay of a local small time gang that the pack found of very little threat to their operations. To say her her run-ins with them were less than pleasant would have been an understatement. Six months later she scrounged together enough money and got her licensing to become a ModDoc which meant she could find work and get her brother out of that place. Her crime spree soon caught up with her as her brother was killed in an altercation with that group. Alone and devastated by the fact that she got her brother killed, she spiraled into alcoholism and spent the last five years. Despite her alcoholic binges, she managed to land a job on metrostreet in a "legal" mod shop as a co ModDoc.



Cybernetics:
arakoshi mk5 cyberoptics - used to help her when installing mods that come with a variety of features such as a zoom fuction, infrared vision, low light which allows clear vison in dim light.

Weapons/Tools:

While mainstreet is relatively safe, it does have its dangers and a Hippocratic oath doesn't mean much if you end up dead which is why She carries a six shot revolver. Nothing too fancy, but it will make someone think twice.

- She has a soft spot for children, especially those who are at the mercy of the system
- She tends to switch between talking in slang and regularly speaking
