Current Unpopular Opinion: "Because I'm bored" is a terrible roleplay pitch.

Its alright, sorry for the mini-rant. RPN is still among my favorite places, but certain events made them hit home hard... anyways, ya're nice Nesi. I hope I didn't come off too aggressive or anything

@Idea Well its a warhammer fantasy character, mot sure if I should choose Ostermark or my fav', Hochland.

But anywho, when I set up the sheet on here, i'll add the background with it.

Alright. Setting’s likely to be totally different from warhammer though (not that I know that one well at all)
My roll results, I don't think they're too bad.

I was thinking of playing a ranger who just wants to live a peaceful life in a forest, but is forced to go on quests to make money to pay off a debt his brother made before running off(he's planning on shooting the jerk in the leg when he sees him again). I'm still working out all the details.

Hmmm, my current main idea was to make a character who is this person who lived in the woods, one of those wild “raised by wolves” type if you will. Maybe our characters could have met each other in the forest?

Also, I am noticing at least two of our characters may be after money so far (yours and @expolar ‘s )

Didn't you say this would take place in a town? Because if so, what you've just described sounds more like a capital city than a town.

I mean the two words kind of blend together in a tabletop RPG (city and town)

Edit: by the by, what kind of character do you have in mind?
I think i'll use a different character I made a while ago, and its pretty much a basic fighter. It'll be my empire soldier.

Oh? Interesting. What can you tell us about who they are as a person and their backstory?

Not bad results at all, plenty of room to multiclass if I wanna.

I have half a mind to mix the fey pact thing into something else, not even like a warlock pact, just something in the character's story where they were tricked by fey or something of the sort.
I think anything more specific than "you are all in a party together" or "you are all forced to work together" would probably require us to know ours and each other's characters, like who they are / will be.
And yep, i'll be taking the monk route. Found a homebrew sheet on the "Way of Sendo" a while ago, tried lookking for it again, but couldn't.

I believe when I asked what would be allowed, homebrew wasn't (as in homebrew content) , only unearthed arcana and official books. I don't know if the sheet you're talking about contains any homebrew content or if it's just a homebrew sheet that otherwise uses only official content, but best keep it in mind.
The idea to have the two character ideas mixed is a nice idea, especially as my response to such ideas is also, "Why not both?" lol. But I think I would prefer them to be separate.

The elven character finding his own meaning of what he should do with his life than simply following the path given to by his family made for him makes it a bit interesting for me for when I step into his mind as he finds himself. As he think short term goals and past accomplishes, it helps me and my character think of what he feels is important and should truly pursue as a goal that it worth seeking and accomplishing.

The tiefling is a revamped version of a character I played in a old campaign like 2 years back. Felt a bit unsatisfied with how I made his initial story and motivation, especially as we progressed through the campaign as I questioned what he wanted. But with the current changes mentioned here. I like as it gives him the short term focus on his siblings and the long term focus of finding answers to their parents disappearance.

Yeah I can understand that. So yeah, they're your concepts so naturally do whatever you'd like to. Personally I'd vote the elf mostly cause I got a bit of a pet peeve against demons, but that's just me.

Well with a warlock with a gimmicky pact, I can only imagine the warlock being involved with a fey entity lol

The simic hybrid druid/barbarian sounds fun as seeing how druids and barbarians can be, they can be great tanks and powerhouses if built in certain ways. And what do you "just wild all the way"? Like they have a more of a animistic behavior or more of how you plan to use the class?

Yep. Though I think more in terms of flavor than power when I make my builds. My warlock /abjuration wizard combo is one of the few I'd make for mechanical purposes only.

As for what meant with "wild all the way" I mean the "lived in a forest all their life" type, so yeah pretty much animalistic behavior.
where do I put the ooc lol

If you make the OOC on a thread on the site, it would be here I think: roleplayerguild.com/forums/39-tableto…

If you make the OOC on discord, it would be on a discord server.
Also my quests are usually a mix of investigation and problem solving. For instance I was thinking of having my players in a previous game deal with kids who were thieves, but they had magic. So they were always escaping. So the problem which usually is a bunch of orphans stealing bread now involves being shot at with fire balls and illusion magic as theyre running in a crowd lol.

I definitely plan on posting slower to bring you guys much more needed context. I want the immediate world to be interesting and malleable. So like i'll create a guild hall and you have the choice of looking at the leader board. Talking to the woman who burst in tears begging for help. Or going to bed after eating dinner. You'll be given hints and things to explore, both subtle and not. And it's my hope you'll explore the world ooc and ic.

Sounds awesome!

When I watched dnd videos, I heard about dungeons where you had to ask 20 questions and investigate every nook and cranny. And while I dont expect everyone to investigate every piece of furniture. I hope that when I lay clues, they might be checked out. and when I create a blacksmithing shop, that people buy stuff and maybe take his quest lol.

Yep, I think matters like this are kind of why I like GMs that involve more the characters and other content players bring to the table. I don't think it's good to just move my characters because "oh that's what the script says", but if you pull the strings that I weave into my character's personality, goals and backstory I will play along and probably go wherever you want me to XD

@bacon is fluffy where will the OOC be? On a thread here on the guild or discord?
