Taylor sparked up the joint she had as they pulled away from her home and headed on towards the lake. The song on the radio caught her ear, listening to the music as she very subtly bobbed her head up and down to the beat in the background. Although she loved a good beat, good lyrics won outright, in her opinion anyway.
"I got a hybrid just to be safe. I always forget whether you prefer indicas or sativas. This is sativa dominant, though. Really don't need to be getting all hyped up and paranoid." She said the last part with a bit of embarrassment in her tone, laughing nervously as she took another quick drag before handing it off to Josh. She turned and looked out the window to watch the scenery pass by. For a while, Taylor lost herself to the colors passing through her vision as they drove. Josh's question brought her back into the car. She peered over her shoulder, still turned towards the window to smile at him.
"She's got a good nose when it comes to food. Other than that, she doesn't really care to use it." Taylor looked back at Sadie and laughed,
"I'dnt that right, Sadie?"It wasn't long before they were at the lake. As they pulled in closer, there were many vehicles in view, but one in particular that stuck out to Taylor. Abe's car.
'Shit,' she thought to herself as she grabbed Sadie's leash and unbuckled her seatbelt. Taylor had a bad habit of unbuckling her seatbelt before the car could even be parked. As long as she saw they were in the parking lot and near a place to park, she'd get that sucker off in a heartbeat.

Declan nodded in agreement. They
had wasted enough time. He looked down at his shoes and mentally bore his teeth at them. He wished he could duck into the trees and brush behind them and shift into his other form. It would prove so much faster, and although his endurance in his human form was great, it was exceptional as a wolf. Plus, there was nothing like the feeling of the wind through his coarse fur.
He glanced at Finley and rose an eyebrow to himself, wondering what her endurance was like. An inappropriate thought crossed his mind that nearly made him turning bright red before he shook his head to rid of the thoughts. Declan walked beside Finley, nudging her shoulder with his arm playfully.
"Think we could speed this up and put us into a few gears higher?" He smirked and looked ahead, adding
"If you think you can keep up, that is," looking at her out of the corner of his eye. He figured at least a simple jog wouldn't make too big a difference, but it'd definitely get them there a little faster in the long run.
No pun intended.

Tyler looked back at his truck where Dak was now seated in the driver's seat watching his owner protectively, ears perked up and eyes alert. He thought about going back and letting him walk with the two men, but didn't want to have to ask, nor did he want to make the other animals unnerved with a canine walking around. Not with the wilder cousins of Dak's that were terrorizing them during the night hours. Tyler shrugged off Dak's longing looks and followed Mr. Smith to the fields that weren't too far off from the main house. He looked around at all the other animals nearby, but focused his attention on the recently slaughtered animal that still lay on the ground.
He knelt down to get a closer look, and a better scent of his own. He inhaled quietly, but deeply, taking it all in.
Death. Something he was quite familiar with, but it never dulled the horrible scent by any means. Tyler stood up, then. Realizing Mr. Smith hadn't answered his last question, he decided to repeat himself to the man.
"Have they ever attacked any humans on the property, or just the livestock? And also, sir, I must say moving the animals into the barn at night is probably your best bet. Still be vigilant, though. These wolves, they're smart animals. People tend to think that because they are just that, animals, that they don't have any sense of real thinking or planning.. but they do. Take every precaution necessary."
