Everything you write should be like someone reading your things. It should be terrifying and incredibly embarrassing.

"Feel free to take your breakfast break hun, I'm fine for now though, thank you. I'll be right back."

And just like that, she was left alone with the man. Taylor wasn't much good with one-on-ones. Especially with men, no matter how nice they looked. A slight spike of anxiety sprang up in Taylor, but she'd play it as cool as possible. His response about not needing a top-off on his coffee left Taylor wondering what to do now. Taylor bit the inside of her lip and grabbed a rag from the sanitizer bucket underneath the counter to began wiping everything down.

It hadn't been much longer before she heard Mr. Kingsfield speak up from behind her again. The mustard stain on her hand was brought to her attention. She knew it was there, and she'd intended to leave a slight glob of it on there to sooth the burn sight. Must have been bugging the guy to see it. Maybe he thought it was unsanitary. She chuckled half-heartedly and took the napkin tenderly from the P.I. mumbling rather shyly, "Fun fact: Rubbing mustard to a burn area takes away the pain and reduces blisters and scarring." She gave him a nice smile for a few moments before it faded as she rubbed the mustard off her hand, her expression becoming more serious.

"I hadn't intentionally done so, but I kind of overheard you about Riley. I just wonder, do you think she's still out there? Is there a possibility she's not fallen victim to the killer who.... killed the Mayor? Didn't know Riley the best on a personal level, but having worked here for the last couple years, I saw a lot of her and got to know her and the family fairly well. I'd like to think of the Walkers as a sort of extended family of mine. You know? Just.." Taylor sighed softly. "Just really hope we can find her." It felt kind of lame to say, knowing the P.I. probably heard that all day long for the last week since he arrived here, but it was true for so many reasons.

Declan managed to hear Oli across the restaurant, turning to wave with a charming smile flashed her way. He'd have to hit Oli up later and see what their plans would be this coming moon, as it was closing in ever so quickly. Then his eyes caught Miranda's, and for a moment he was distracted. Enough so that he ran into a chair as he made his way to Finley. His face flashed beet red as he side stepped around the object and practically bounded over to Finn. Embracing her in his arms and spewing his sad excuse for an apology, instantly feeling a jab into his arm. He looked down at the punch point, then back up at Finn's face. He was trying to hold back a smile, but was having difficulty doing so.

"Was that supposed to hurt? Cause it didn't." He half-ass laughed until he realized her sincerely irritated expression. His smile quickly faded, his own expression becoming one of sorrow and solace. "I'm sorry, Finn. I just... Jenna really pushed me, and I couldn't stand to be around her at the time. It just really hurt to think..er, to know that that's how she feels about me. Regardless of what I am. I know she has her concerns, and that's fine. But to accuse me of potentially being the," Dec looked around quickly, a slight chill running down his spine as he whispered the word murderer, talking at a normal level again afterwards.

"I didn't mean to run out on you, and I sure as hell wasn't going radio silent on you specifically. I'd been over at Miranda's, and I got a call from..." Declan's chest clenched, causing him to pause a moment. Running a hand through his hair, he took a deep breath and tried again. "My cheating ass girlfriend, Jenna. Her.. whatever you wanna call him had her call me and tell me about her screwing around behind my back while she was there with him. It wasn't her at first on the phone. He had the nerve to tell me it all, and she told me not to contact her anymore and hung up on me." Declan's fist tightened into a firm ball, his knuckles cracking under the extreme amount of pressure put on them.

He forced himself to sit down in the chair beside Finley, placing his arms crossed on the counter in front of him and his head turned away from his friend. Tears threatened to spill over his eyelids, but he wouldn't let them. Not here. Not in a public place. Declan talked lower, sounding almost defeated. "Please don't hold this over me, Finn. I just really needed a break from it all after What happened with...the Jennas'. Was just too much for me, and I didn't want to blow up at anyone cause I wasn't right in the head." He rubbed his eyes with a knuckle, destroying any evidence he may start crying at any moment. Though he hated it, Declan tended to be quite the crybaby. Just in the comfort of his own home. He always went by the saying his dad told him through his childhood, "Never let them see you cry." And he never did.

I'd very much be interested in joining. If a spot opens up, please let me know. I'd like to take up Flying, if that'd be alright. ^^
Oh, and my character would either be Hufflepuff or Slytherin. ^~^ if I was to be let in, of course!

Taylor listened absentmindedly to Harry and Mrs. Walker's conversation as they went back and forth with different things about Riley's potential interests. She hadn't been in town long enough to know too much about Riley. Two years was hardly enough to say anything about what kind of friendship they had. Although Taylor believed Finley at her word, she had her own doubts about everything. All the what if's that hung in the air like fireflies on a summer night. As Taylor pulled her attention away from the grill to look up at Mrs. Walker to speak up on the matter, she felt a seering pain in her hand. She quickly turned around and muttered a few curses under her breath, heading for the walk-in fridge to grab some mustard to apply to her grease burns.

Only moments passed before Taylor was back in her position in front of the grill with a few dabs of mustard smeared on her hand to sooth the burns. Although it stung a bit, Taylor had no fear that the blisters would scar. It wasn't such a serious burn that it needed any more attention than she gave it. She took the whole ordeal as a sign, though. Maybe she should stay out of it, especially with the P.I. being involved. If he was to ask anyone about any real information, his best bet probably would be Liv, but Taylor wasn't about to throw her under the bus. Hopefully Mrs. Walker had enough sense not to drag her into the spotlight and would feel comfortable enough filling in the blanks for Mr. Harry Kingsfield. Taylor went about her business, no longer listening in, as it seemed the conversation between the two had died down whilest she was gone. Taylor sighed softly, chewing on her lip. 'Coffee sounds good right about now,' she thought to herself.

"Excuse me, Mrs. Walker? Would you mind if I stepped away a moment and got a cup of coffee? I'd be more than happy to bring you one too, if you'd like." Taylor leaned around just so, peering over at Harry with a soft, friendly smile. "Maybe a refill for you as well, sir?"

Declan hadn't had much trouble getting out and off the school grounds, nor did he have any troubles with getting to the cafe. The walk was fairly smooth and at the pace he was going, he made quite the record timing. What he wouldn't give to at least have his bicycle right now, but then again what difference would it make? He'd still be soaked by the time he got to anywhere he was planning on going. Oh well. It wasn't long before he caught the Cafe in his line of sight. A grin flashed across his face as he picked up his pace to a jog, reaching the front doors in time. His hand was almost to the door before he spotted the reflection of a white van in the Cafe glass doors. It was so out of place. Where had it come from? Part of him wanted to go up and smell it out to see who it belonged to, but the other half of him.. the human half of him, knew that would cause a slight scene with a Cafe full of people watching some scrawny teenage boy wandering around an already suspicious vehicle.

Declan shook his head of the thoughts swarming through his mind, pushing the Cafe doors open. Instead of dragging his wet self and his two bags throughout the place, he decided to drop his things by the door and wander in alone. He scanned the small restaurant and caught a few people of interest in his eye. The Agent that rolled into town last week. Agent Gregor? No. Greyson! Agent Greyson. The ol' man, Abraham. Ugh. Olivia. Miranda. Declan's chest tightened at the sight of her, as well as a bit of a smirk/smile creeping up at the corners of his lips. Followed by a slight blush. Thoughts spun around in his mind that were nearly impossible to chase away. The last five days had been spent... quite well, in his opinion. The sight of Finley brought him back to the present moment. He'd talk to Miranda later when he could grab a moment alone. He made a mental note to ask Miranda who the skinny dude sitting with her and Liv was later, for now, his time was reserved for Finn.

He walked right over to Finley who seemed to be nibbling on a cookie, chuckling softly as he came up to her and wrapped his arms around her tightly. "Hey," he murmured against her head. Declan mentally kicked himself. She deserved so much more than just a simple 'hey', but he didn't know just how to start explaining any of.. well, anything. He wouldn't blame her if she pulled back and socked him in the arm, or even straight in the face. He'd been a terrible friend. Not only had he spilled his secret and ran, going radio silent for days.. but he'd also run from her and her own leaked secret. The cats were way out of the bag on this one. Finally after a couple fleeting moments of silence, he added, "I owe you an apology."

Samantha hadn't been in the town much longer than just short of a week, and it seemed as though she was already regretting it. She'd made the rookie mistake of getting herself situated in a town before knowing what the current happenings were in it. Murdered town sheriff. Disappearing girls. There were clear signs of werewolves in the area, but wasn't too sure if they'd been the ones who had made the murder and disappearance happen. From what she could tell, no demons were in the area, which was quite a relief in her opinion. A local girl in town had been nice enough to rent out a room in her home. Miranda Burke. Quite the looker, and absolutely Samantha's type, but something had Sam thinking she'd never have a chance.

It wasn't just the boy who had been over nearly since the time she first walked in the door that she'd been having fun with.. it was the fact that that very boy was a werewolf. Sam didn't want to mess around with Miranda if she was with a werewolf. With how unpredictable they proved to be, it was best to stay out of it. Part of her wondered if Miranda even knew. And if so, why keep it around? Sam shrugged the thought away and looked over at her familiar who sat at the far side of the room against the wall with his nose stuck in a book, tilting her head to the side with a little smile.

"Want to go for a walk, boy?" she asked in a teasing tone. Sam laughed as his eyes slowly tilted up in her direction, turning into a soft glare. "Can't you go anywhere by yourself?" he questioned her, gently closing the book shut after folding a corner in to keep his page. Sam simply ignored his words and sprung up from her bed, stepping around a couple of cardboard boxes she still had left to unpack, pulling her closet door open. She could hear him grumble something about the weather outside, forcing her to turn around. "Oh a little rain don't hurt. What's the matter? Afraid to get wet?" she laughed, turning back to her closet to pick out an outfit.

Jesse was busy looking Sam up and down in her tank top and undies, smirking playfully. "Not exactly." he chuckled, getting up from the floor slowly to walk up behind her, sliding his hands over and down her hips as he pressed his lips against her shoulder. Samantha blushed brightly and swatted his hands away, quickly grabbing a shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans, giving him her own glaring look. "Not now, Jesse. I'm serious. Lets get out of here and check out the town. We haven't really gone out and done anything, yet." Jesse sighed heavily and raised an eyebrow. "Now am I going as me, or," he made the quick change over to his animal form (a grey pitbull) and barked softly with a light wag of his tail and a tilt of his great big head.

Sam shrugged as she hopped around trying to pull her skinny jeans on, "Dealer's choice, I guess." Jesse quickly changed back to his human self and sat down at the edge of Sam's bed, watching her as she dressed. Samantha grabbed her phone off the bed, disconnecting it from it's charger as she wandered over to the window. She typed out a quick text to Miranda, then threw her phone back on the bed to finish getting ready.

I'll edit Declan in later tomorrow (technically today, but I still haven't slept yet lol). He won't do much. He'll walk, arrive in front of the cafe, think the van is sketchy and go check it out for sniffs, then wander inside and see everyone. Idk if I want to interact with anyone just yet. May save that for the next post, not too sure. Depends if anyone posts between the time I can get back to edit him in, or not. xP

Taylor had been busy most the morning since she arrived on site making prep for the day's work. Hadn't been too busy of a morning, in Taylor's opinion. It was nice, for a change. Normally she was used to running around the kitchen with her head cut off. At the moment, she had been cutting up onions with the slicer, and her eyes were beginning to water and burn. Squeezing her eyes shut tight, she grit her teeth softly and thought to herself, 'Why don't we soak these things in cold water before cutting them? This wouldn't be a problem if we did.' Taylor shook her head and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand, blinking away the tears spilling down from the corners of her eyes.

Mrs. Walker's voice slightly startled her. Turning a soft shade of red, Taylor simply nodded and muttered, "Yes ma'am, I sure can." 'Definitely better than doing this,' she thought to herself as her gaze crossed from Mrs. Walker's face to the detective's. All she knew about him was that he was the P.I. hired by the Walkers to find out information about Riley. What would he do if he knew Riley was still alive? What would they all do? 'Shit. It'd send everyone into a panic, that's what it'd do.'

Taylor couldn't help but overhear the detective asking about Riley and her interests. She wanted to hear more, but she also didn't want to appear rude and seem like she was earhustling on their conversation. Which, in all reality, she was. They just wouldn't know she wasn't out of ear shot. Taylor walked over to the pan where the four pieces of bacon were seering, flipping them over with a fork gently as they sizzled and popped in their self-made grease. She stepped over to the pancakes and flipped those as well, keeping an open ear to the conversation a few feet away.

Declan

It hadn't taken long before he got a reply back from Finley. Yes, they needed to talk. He smirked a little to himself as he pocketed his phone, getting up from the bench he was sitting on top of to walk over to the office. He pulled the door open and walked straight to the person behind the counter, letting them know that he should have gotten a call to be let out early. Indeed his cousin had come through. Or, rather...his "mom" came through. They thought it was his mom who called in. Taylor must have just gone with it.

With his newfound freedom, he slung his lacrosse bag over his shoulder in a more comfortable position before continuing on down the street towards the cafe. He had it set in his mind to have an honest talk with his friend. She was understanding and had defended him against...well, Jenna. He owed it to Finley to give a better explanation on what things were, and how they worked.
I'm on Day 6 too. I'll be posting tonight from my phone. Im currently on vacation with my family and in my haste to pack i forgot my laptop -_- were still driving. Ill make my reply when we finally get to the hotel

Declan sat in the quad area of his school as the hustle of usual lunch rush went about around him. It had been a long weekend. 5 days since he'd really seen anyone except his cousin, Miranda and Olivia. He stayed away from everyone else, though. Part of him worried if that'd make his case any more difficult to prove his innocence, or if staying away might help clear the heads of the confused.

He grit his teeth and growled softly to himself, pulling out the phone his cousin had so graciously gifted him. Of course, on the condition he wouldnt be doing any more stupid shit to get it broken. Pulling up Finley's number, he decided it was past time to talk to her about all this on a real level. Sighing heavily, he typed out a quick text to his friend, as well as his cousin.

** To Huckleberry:
Hey, what are you doing later? I can skip Lacrosse today..we need to talk.**

** To Taylor:
Hey, think you could save me from school, today? I need to get out of this place.**

It wasn't long before he got a response from Taylor. She was working, and wasn't able to drive to get him but could call the office and let them know he needed out early. He half-smiled and replied with a 'thank you Cruz' before pocketing his phone again. all the different food smells were getting to Declan, now. His stomach grumbled, but he ignored it and told himself, "Screw the school food. Just wait another hour and we can drop by the cafe for a patty melt."
I'll be posting tonight. Just gotta dig my laptop out of my pile of crap on my desk
I'm about to start in 10, gonna work a 3 1/2 hour shift and go get my grandma from dialysis, then be on my way home to write up my post.
