Reyna was a good kid for a while, but something inside her just snapped. She became vile, angry, spiteful for no good reason. Soon labeled the young delinquent of Dixie Inn, trying to fix her attitude was swept under the carpet in favor of punishing and suppressing her. She's set to become another failure of the American education system, especially because of her bright mind. One of the top ten in her grade, it baffles others how she can cause so much trouble and still have time to keep an 4.0. She doesn't have many friends, considering her destructive tendencies, but she is secretly glad for the murder, for she believes it will help her become closer with others. As much as she pretends she's a lone wolf that doesn't need anybody else, she craves friendship

Her main deal as the town's trouble kid is destruction of property. That bitch that tore through all your crops? That was her. That asshole that smashed in your store window? Yep, her too. The dickwad who dented your car door? Don't be surprised. It's always Reyna, and she always denies it

▾ Biography:
Reyna was born to Jack and Katelyn Smith, both born and raised in Dixie Inn as well. Katelyn was the town white trash druggie for a while, but once she had her daughter, she fixed herself up, found herself a job at Nicky's and supported her family. When Reyna was about 8, her mother relapsed, and has been addicted ever since. Jack divorced his wife but failed to take his daughter with him to live in New York; she was forced to stay in a dangerous household because the courts deemed her father "unfit" to raise her, despite the fact that her mother was a renewed addict. Katelyn lost her job at Nicky's, but Reyna and Katelyn didn't hate Nicky for it. They understood. Now living off food stamps and social security, they were barely scraping by. Nobody outside of the family (and Nicky) knew what was going on. Whenever Katelyn would pass out, Reyna couldn't get her to wake up, so she would start breaking things in frustration to try and get her mother's attention. The method didn't work, but it soon leaked into her school life, making destruction a daily habit. She still lives with her mother now, and with their relationship with Nicky, it struck close to home. Even though they had feuds in the past, Reyna has offered to help Nicky however she can, for old time's sake
She has a short white scar down her chin given to her by her attacker, along with dark bruises still lining her throat
Personality
She was a bright young girl before her kidnapping. Ready to eat the world and milk its joys, but the death changed her. Lying under the earth, dirt filling her lungs till she felt as if she was one with the soil and clay, it was traumatic. She's quiet now, stares out at nothing or focuses onto something too closely. Only the ground seems to truly calm her anymore. The world beneath her bare toes and balled in her fists feel relaxing. She doesn't open up well and still won't talk much about her death
Why your character was in Renata
Joel was in her sophomore year of the town's college before the incident, living in the dorms
The Circumstances of the Death
After a party one night, Joel was snatched from the streets like a child. Within a few days of her disappearance, her face was everywhere, her parents desperately searching for her. After a few weeks, many lost hope the teenager would come back home...until she showed up stumbling out of the woods one day, drenched in dirt and babbling about a dark figure. Her kidnapper had murdered her via asphyxiation and buried her in the nearby forest, but Death brought her back, willing her to climb to the surface like a vampire reborn. After spending so long sucking in the dirt, she can now shift the ground beneath her
Power
She can move the earth with limited strength; certain parts of town she senses are protected by magic, their earth unmoving and unchangeable. She can also tell the content of the soil, such as chemical and physical make up. And surprisingly, she has an affinity for mineral rocks and other precious metals now. They seem to seek her out in their purest forms, whether they be scattered diamonds or large chunks of silver
Biography
Joel grew up in Renata her whole life, and did what everybody in their town did, and enrolled in the local college. She was going to major in chemical engineering before the incident, had a steady boyfriend and many friends. But after her kidnapping, they all have drifted away, almost as if they detect the subtle change in her, like they know she shouldn't be alive. Slowly, they distanced themselves from her in her great time of need. She feels more alone than ever, even when surrounded by the other children of Death
Other
She especially loves woodland creatures, and she also abstains from violence as much as she can
Death gazed upon his new creations, sighing at their human qualities. They would soon fade with time, or maybe they would retain them like some of his fellow gods. If that was true, he would have to replace them again. Human traits is what got him screwed over in the first place. He needed new men to help him rule this world. Ones without blight or problems with the other gods. Maybe these would prove to be useful to him. Maybe not...
Every soul must face death...if not once, but twice
Death gazes at you from under his hood, his scythe hanging from one hand and an hour glass dangling from the other. "Do not disrespect my gift," he tells you, his voice resonating in your chest. You promise you won't, you beg he keep his word. In response, he hands you the hour glass, the sand snaking back up into the upper chamber. He's giving you more time. "Find the others," he commands. "Before I change my mind."
Basic Concept
While visiting/living in the small town of Renata, your character has a near death experience through odd circumstances. Whether you were in danger or not, you died. Either by water, fire, earth, choice, etc..., you succumbed to your wounds and your soul fled this world. Until Death himself stopped you. He gave a vague proposition, eerie and risky. You might not even want it. "Go back," he told you. "Prove yourself." Prove yourself? For what, to what? You barely recall the experience once you wake up in the local hospital, nurses and doctors astonished by your resurrection. Everybody asks you what you saw when you were "dead," but you can't bring yourself to talk about what happened, afraid they'll call you insane, throw you into a mental asylum. During your recovery, they move you to a shared room filled with others who have similar experiences. Death's children, all gathered in one room? Who knows what could happen? Not to mention the mysterious powers now manifesting in all of you...

Your Character
Once you wake up, you discover that you have powers relating to your death, aka the drowned control water, the burned control fire. I have no limits on your character's death; it can be as intricate or as random as possible, as long as you can argue how it ties into their powers.

Old Gods
Death made you because he is tired of the old gods. Whether because they have quarreled or aren't doing their job correctly, he is done with them. I would make the gods myself, but I feel as if you should have more control over the god that corresponds to your character. Please submit it with your character sheet if possible. It also doesn't matter if they are based off a Greek or other gods already in mythology, or if its brand new

Accepted Old Gods
Old Gods will go here
Death
Name
Death, Thantos, Anubis, and a world's variety of cultural names and symbols to represent what is definite in life
Age
As old as life
Gender
N
Domain
He and his servants carry the souls of the passed to the underworld. Being one of the oldest of gods, he knows many tricks and valuable information on just about everything. The other Gods' darkest secrets, their dearest wishes. He knows all. The dead may be dead, but their spirits still speak
Personality
Everybody sees him differently. Hateful, spiteful, merciful, blind. In reality, he is uncaring. He has wished for almost nothing during his whole existence. Makes you wonder why all of a sudden he uses his real powers; the gift of life.
Other
Death knows humans try to dictate his meaning and form a philosphy from his practice. He finds it amusing, the way they try to cage a god's intentions, and that they believe he has any at all beyond doing his duty
Persephone
Name
Persephone, original name was Kore
Age
Old as fuck, still looking fly
Gender
Female
Domain
Queen of the Underworld and Goddess to the spring. She shares her powers of soil and earth with Joel, but is more practiced and skilled. During Fall and Winter, her extent over plant life weakens, though Joel's does not.
Personality
Persephone has had many personas over the years. As Kore, Demeter's daughter of spring, she was shy and quiet, passingly beautiful. But as Persephone, Queen of Hell, she hardened and grew a backbone. With the arrival of her competitor, she will do close to everything to keep her thrown. While she secretly empathizes with Joel because of their similar circumstances (kidnapping), she can't let go of her position
Other
Despite being the Queen of Hell, she has no domain over the dead. She can sense and communicate with them, but she cannot influence them by supernatural means
Iskur, the Stormruler
Name
Iskur, Hadad, Pidar, Rapiu, Ba'al, Zephon
Age
Approximately 7,000 years
Gender
N
Domain
Iskur's domain lies in gaia's wrath - the thunderstorm. The zenith of its power is the hammer of justice, the lightning strike, which it uses to destroy those who challenge mother earth. Iskur presides over hurricane winds and ice storms as well, though these are merely byproducts of its presence.
Personality
Iskur is an ancient being, its will shaping the very foundation of the earth, though it was not embodied until roughly seven thousand years ago. It does not possess a consciousness relatable to the human mind, though on a fundamental level it carries some aspects. Iskur was once more peaceful, but fair, providing sowing winds and healing rains to mankind. It gave bountiful harvests when deserved, and scourged farmlands barren for the unjust. But now the winters are long, Iskur floods in the spring and starves in the fall, and unforgiving hurricanes shatter the land, for mankind has corrupted the earth, and Iskur has become the embodiment of vengeance absolute, yielding only to power.
Other
Iskur is a great and terrible force and does not deign to manifest itself before humankind. It exists only within the most destructive hurricanes, and if you were lucky, or unlucky, enough to survive within one for long, you might glimpse the silhouette of a colossal winged being before it stole you from this existence.
Apollo
Name
Apollo, known in the mortal realm simply as “Jack”
Age
Super old but don’t mention it. Seriously, it will only make him mad.
Gender
Male
Domain
God of archery, music, poetry, prophecy, medicine, and god of the sun. Like John he has a hot temper, pun intended. Unlike John, he is rarely able to get his temper under control.
Personality
Apollo doesn’t much care for anything beyond his carnal pleasures and his music. He’s quick to get into a fight and usually comes out on top, having a natural sense for which fights are in his favor.
Other
While the sun is under his domain he does not share John’s affinity with flames. He admires John’s natural talent with music but is secretly afraid that if the two were compared that John would come out on top.
Zephyr, Goddess of the West Winds
Name
Zephyrus, Zephyr, Anemoi, Favonius
Age
Zephyr stopped counting after centuries
Gender
F
Domain
Zephyr's reach extends to the winds, going as far back to ancient winds. Her control of the winds is excellent, almost seeming as if the rough, malevolent winds were her plaything.
Personality
Zephyr was mostly benevolent throughout her 'earlier' years, granting safe passage and luck during harsher times of early humanity. Although now she had grown uncaring (mainly due to the curse of immortality making her indifferent), with her expression not shifting in the slightest even when informed of the new 'demigods'. She cared little for them, though still having that slight tinge curiosity, as did the other gods, infact being slightly amused by the antics of Death. Her immortality even made her enjoy the mantra of 'Who wants to live forever'? Even if she does fulfill her duties, she wouldn't mind being overthrown.
Other
Zephyr has affiliations with other 'wind' gods.
Terpsichore, Mother of Sirens
Name
Teri
Age
Like really old
Gender
F
Domain
Terpsichore is the goddess of dance and music, and the mother of sirens. In mythology she is usually depicted with a lyre, but in this new world she mostly prefers the tambourine.
Personality
Terpsichore prefers to be called Teri, since other than being a mouthful, it makes her sound like a bad heavy metal album hence she lowkey hates her own name. She is carefree, optimistic and just radiates fun and life that it's almost contagious. Which it is, since her music purposefully feeds people with positive emotions. Though she happily helps mortals in the only way she can, Teri is oblivious to basic human emotions such as sadness, anger or to some degree, love.
Other
Sports the boho look, never seen without her top hat.
Avis
Name
Avis, also known as Breksta in some mythologies
Age
Not the oldest of the old, but still pretty damn old
Gender
Female
Domain
Avis is the Goddess of Dreams, Hallucinations and the Night. She breathes life into mortal's sleep and keeps them safe from sunset to sunrise. Her reach also, more recently, has extended into the drug world - as many mortals, unknowingly, are thinning the veil between them and her through the use of narcotics. She strays them away from harm in her haven by causing them to hallucinate in their own world, ensuring that her realm is untouched by mankind as it is far too much for a mortal's mind to process.
Personality
Over the thousands of years of her existence, Avis has grown somewhat detached from humanity. It has been long since she has felt the warmth of love or the icy touch of hatred - the only access she has to these emotions is through the minds of the mortal world. Because of these, she has developed a fierce protective nature over mankind and will do whatever it takes to save them. She feels nothing but mild disdain towards Tawny, primarily because she knows she is far more powerful than a mere human with gifts.
Other
Uller
Name
Ull/Uller
Age
Old as the seasons
Gender
Male
Domain
Winter
Personality
Uller is bored of living. Of course to cease existing would be to relinquish his power, and his ambition had not receded with his enthusiasm. He’d had his first giddy centuries where everything was new, then when things became tedious he lashed out, forced new things to happen from wars to famines but even the excitement from those never lasted longer than a century or two. He has long stopped caring for mortals and whatever empathy and feelings of goodwill he’d possessed at the beginning left no traces on his shallow and slothful soul.

Monsters
Through your death, the world of the supernatural has been revealed; you are no longer blind to the shadows that creep about. These are some of the main creatures our characters may encounter.
Some what related to Death, but not under his domain, the hell hounds sniff about our characters, sensing the death on their skin. While most understand that a god has intervened with your life, some may attack, believing your character is an escapee from hell. Proceed with caution.
Old women that can either be aware or unaware of your circumstances. They screech once they realize your power, alerting any nearby supernaturals of your existence. Beware, for they look more human than one may believe.
Servants to Death himself, undertakers of human souls. While most have been informed not to interfere with your affairs, there are a few rogues working for independent contractors. They cannot kill, but are ready to reap souls the moment your heart stops.
Minor demons, but still nasty little fellows. They may steal your car keys or rip your hair out. Most have childish intentions, but others seek the downfall of Death's children for unknown reasons. Take care when approaching the creatures, they may try to sabotage you.
Poor lost souls bound to Earth through rage and grief. They wander aimlessly, bumping into people like you, those saved by Death. Many will lash out in retaliation, envying your status as saved. Avoid them as much as possible; they cause many disturbances in the supernatural world, drawing unwanted attention.
Have a supernatural creature you want to be in this RP real bad? Message me and I'll consider adding them to the list. As we encounter more creatures, more descriptions will be added
Note: Despite rhetoric implying that our characters cannot die, they can. Although, it can be prevented through magical methods or physical ones as well. Watch out for the grim reapers, though. Message me if you're ready to kill off your character
