Into the Warp : Before Chaos
A WH40k Story
The heavens are said to be a place of untamed beauty; the hells, a place of unbridled horror. Since the beginning of the human imagination, we have looked at what comes after we die. We have created mythos and false gods to seek hope that there may be a life beyond the mundane day that comes through their life. They found peace in them, though they did not see the light or the truth, but they were of a more primitive age. Even those in the greatest of times, did not know the truth and light from the God-Emperor. They stayed their hands in ignorance. We live today, for the Emperor, our duty is to work in his name, to fight in his name, and to die in his name.
For, only in death does duty end.
Into the warp
For there is only warWar is upon the Imperium of Man, we fight daily the forces of Chaos, and we have been cut off from the light of Holy Terra. She does not shine to us, and for what we know, we were alone. But there has been a new light, and a new beacon in the darkness has created itself as a crusade that has expanded across the galaxy. Now, we seek to find ourselves preparing for war, fill our ships full of supplies and men, and have a small carter of the Emperor's Angels onboard. We set out to war with a small armada from the staging grounds on the north side, and we plan to brave the warp tides of the tear across the galaxy to fight in this expanding crusade.
We must brave the warp."This is Captain Elidrais Versias; prepare for warp travel in approximately ten minutes. Please close all exterior portals, and brace for translation."
The Brazen Aurora's galleries and ports would soon be shut several minutes later. A chill would spread across the ship, and the gellar field would awaken as the ship prepared to translate. It and nearly three hundred other ships, primarily smaller ships and transports. There were other smaller cruisers like itself, but they were not as populous as the larger ships.
But the Brazen Aurora's name would be struck from the Imperial Registry soon after, never to be seen as a proper vessel of the Imperium, but a desolate hulk, lost to time sometime in the future, or the past to drift and rot in the endless void. But for those onboard, their story of survival and war starts sooner than they likely would have wanted, as it begins now.
