Bio

Greetings,

I am Jb; Briton by birth, roleplayer by my own hand, and lover of literature. I am also an amateur historian, a receiver of a Bachelors degree in Ancient and Medieval History - quite a useless degree, actually - and would like to think that I'm a fair, honest and open guy.

As far as RP'ing goes, I'm pretty open to most things really, all you need to do is ask! :)

So, if you've ever any questions for me, wish to speak about RP's involving myself or run by myself, or simply feel like a chat, don't be afraid to get in touch.

In Character Info:

The planet of Harlick Mhor had the cancer of corruption within its very bones long before the operatives of the Twentieth Legion ever arrived to limit the life of the planet even further; it was (and remains) a complete pit of corruption, criminal activity, extortion, and perverse wickedness – when the Cicatrix Maledictum surged across the galaxy in a wave of warp-infused damnation, the descendants of those first operatives, members of a cult known as The Splintered Cell, knew that their time had come...

For several generations now the initiates of the cult, flame-bearers of their ancestors given missions in life, have infiltrated into nearly the highest echelons of the planets primary organs – from the Planetary Defence Force to the oligarchic government that is just one place below the Planetary Governor himself – and God-Emperor knows how deep they have slunk into the lower depths of the planets dozen or so hive cities.

The Great Rift is opened, those that first planted the seeds will assuredly return – nay, it had been ordained that they shall! - and with their coming shall be granted the rewards of rightfully your own.

Steps must be taken for their arrival, a gathering of the initiates must be called, and the prime steps must be taken to ensure that Harlick Mhor takes the direction it was always destined to do – Hydra Dominatus, for the Emperor!

Out of character info:

Welcome, one and all, to the grim darkness of the future where their is only war!

This roleplay, as you may have gathered, revolves around an Alpha Legion cult planted on Harlick Mhor at an honestly unknown date – it could have been as far back as the Great Crusade for all anyone knows!

Players will be taking the role of one of these initiates, members of the cult working toward the ultimate overthrow of the planets leaders in preparation for the arrival of the main Alpha Legion forces; some may be doing it out of a propaganda-induced sense of loyalty to the cause, some because they desire power and the potential to become immortal by unknown means, and likely there are those that joined because they never had any loyalty to the Imperium to begin with.

Characters can generally be from wherever you'd like, as old as you'd like, and from wherever in the class system of the Imperium you'd like, short of the highest ranks of the planets government.

They may know one another, and have likely attended other meetings together even if they don't realise it, with the only thing linking them (outside of their allegiance to the Legion) being a mark/tattoo/brand somewhere on their body of the three-headed hydra and a ritual curved dagger that each cult member carries when about cult business.

That's all I'll say for now, as things are going to be kept deliberately close to my chest.

Rules

- Sort your squabbles out in private. If you persistently disagree with another player or they're grieving you, involve me. If necessary, I will get the moderators involved.

- No god modding.

- Try to post at least once a week, let me know if you can't post soon, and please try for at least three paragraphs.

- One character per player.

- Remember that this is an Advanced RP, and so I would like for advanced standards to be maintained.

- My decisions are final.

The journey to Nionus Seven-Twelve, a seemingly backward and unimportant planet that Livingstone nevertheless wished to place his flag, would appear to those aboard the ship to take no longer than a couple of weeks - in real space time passed differently, and indeed nearly three months had passed by the time the Pride ripped a new hole in space and the lion-headed prow came into being once more.

Each of the hand-picked individuals were summoned to the spacious, well furnished bridge; like most Traders he had decided to personalise it, and in doing so it reflected the greatest bridges of the Imperial Navy - clean, spacious, and extremely efficiently organised - Livingstone himself sat upon a high-backed command-throne, smaller chairs surrounding a quite expensive planning table (non-standard issue Imperial tech, very hush hush...) in a semi-circle.

Human (as opposed to servitor slaves) eyes watched the percieved interlopers as they came and took their seats, most no doubt bored from their trip - in spite of the array of activities - Livingstone wouldn't know as he hadn't seen them during this time...

Anyway.

Once they had all taken their seats, and the eyes had returned to their stations to keep the Pride drifting along as it did, a gesture from the Trader bought the planet up into focus once more.

"Nionus Seven-Twelve was founded quite recently, technically speaking, colonists from Tallarn and Necromunda slammed together and scattered over the surface of this giant desert. When the 'settlers' - criminals and deserters for the most part - got there they found a xenos species waiting for them, this species they promptly destroyed. Half-a-dozen hive cities sprung up across the world, what structures remain are of pre-Imperial origin and it is these that concern us."

"Of specific interest is this site here," the map zoomed in to something a few miles north-east of a smaller hive city, "it is assuredly pre-Terran in origin, reminiscient of Ancient Gyptus in fact. Most of the structure we believe is beneath the surface of the planet, therefore we've no real knowledge of what to expect - resistance and so forth."

"We will be coming into orbit of the planet within the day, so I would advise preparing yourselves thoroughly."

The formerly hunched explorer now straightened his back and smoothed his beard with one hand.

"Questions, troubles, anyone?"

Will see about an OOC in a few days, and could do with a couple more people to complete the team.
@caliban22 Sounds like Gue'la propaganda to me...
Space hivemind communism.

Weeeeell, while I do find that funny, I also think it's a rather misrepresented meme. Like the Alpha Legion ones. Wouldn't call the fish-folk communist... Or amazingly hive-minded.

@caliban22 We're a (soon to be) bonded fire team, which can be as small as six individuals.

@CleanBreeze Welcome aboard then, your option sounds fine - and don't worry, T'au have not changed massively, just got a little more grim, honestly.
@caliban22 Likely your bog-standard T'au, but I would also consider Vior'la or Sa'cea - the pre-eminent military septs.
