Personally more aligned with Rune's basis of repetitive dying. Kinda skimmed the argument, but this sprouted from the difference in death systems concerning SAO and LH. But yeh, undecided til Jabber gives a final word, hopefully in IC since OOC would just be spoiling it a tad bit. Then again, our OOC chatter has no connection to IC exactly.

On another note, Marionette is done, decided to forgo the IRL personality and backstory. @Jabber

• Bound - Launches Marionette's character model skyward roughly two meters, good for aerial strikes or evading swipe attacks.
• Hone - Increases weapon accuracy, specifically utilized to attack critical points or direct a thrown/launched projectile. Has a short charge up time in which Marionette needs to maintain a stance.

Passive:

• Metallurgy - Gives player an affinity with processing metals and refining them into utilizable items.

Writing Sample

In the midst pandemonium the girl looked exceptionally calm, to a disconcerting extent. But upon scrutiny one would note not the presence of composure, but its complete absence. As people sped by on aimless tangents Marionette remained completely rigid, as if the hooded figure in the sky was the originally bearer of her strings and had just discarded them with his departure. Now void of any higher control, her figure was ultimately motionless, indifferent to the progressively worsening scene around her.

But the girl was not stagnating. Even though he had just received a life-changing revelation, her body was not stilled due to incomparable fear. Her glassy eyes rested upon a patch of grass stomped out during the tumult. Even gravely wounded, the greenery still clung unto dear life. It was quite evident that she too could just as easily fall into such a precarious state.

With the revelation (quite literally) left up in the air that all of Aether Online's playerbase would be trapped in the bindings of ones and zeroes indefinitely, Marionette, much like many others were doing at this very moment, began to way the pros and cons. Well, it's not like she had much of a life to return to. Gamers game to seek a world beyond the boundaries of their own, an alternate reality in which they can don an identity that starkly contrasts with their own. Minami had also followed this directive. To escape from the shackles of what lies within the (log) horizon and to cross over it. But all gamers unanimously were given the implicit privilege of being able to return to "real" life. Home is where the heart is, no matter how cold that heart may be. Because of this fact, Marionette could not simply discard Minami. That would the equivalent to leaving a book unfinished. Once started, she would do everything in her power to complete it.

Marionette needed to survive to return to her original life. Granted, she already regarded the notion that a way out may not even exist and that everybody's been collectively jipped. But to find a tangible silver lining in this discord, she would need to rely on her own abilities, and dare she even say it... others. Teamwork was something Marionette was not accustomed to despite the numerous titles she has plunged hours into. But with what lies beyond the respawn screen obscured, relying on others was now a means of survival.

Stats: You start with 60. Written below are general applications for what each stat can do, though specific skills/spells/items may be effected by different stats.

Str - Determines melee damage, speed, and weapon usage.
Dex - Determines ranged damage, accuracy, and avoidability.
Vit - Determines hp, regeneration, and physical damage resistance.
Int - Determines number of spells/skills known, mp regeneration, and weapon usage.
Will - Determines spell damage, mana pool, and spell resistance
Cha - Determines bonds with summons/pets, NPC interaction, and luck.

Skills/Spells:
You gain a number of skills/spells based on your Intelligence score. You get a basic (Rank E) skill for every 2 points of Int you have. Higher skill ranks have higher incremental costs (2 - 4 - 8 - 16 - 32 - 64). Spells have similar cost, though the lowest cost spell is worth the same as a D rank skill (4).
