The year is 476, and the cold grasp of winter is beginning to set in upon the world. It has been ten years since the great revolutions of the Shinobi world, which saw the Shinobi Villages of the world seizing control of their host nations. Rebellions were minimal, seeing as favor of the Damiyos had fallen greatly due the greed of the rulers in recent times. A tolerable level of peace settled over the world for around six years, and each of the new countries had a prosperous time, leading to immense growth. Alliances were formed, bonds were made and broken between nations. However, with growth comes tensions as borders grew and nations began to grow more hostile with each other. The next thing people knew, the nations were engaged in the First Great War. Over the next four years, the world experienced the horrors of war as the death toll grew to unfathomable numbers. The militaries of each nation were ground down, becoming fractions of what they used to be. The world also saw the first super-weapons being unleashed upon the battle-fields in the form of unique individuals with powerful beasts sealed inside. The birth of Jinchuriki came as a result of the Great War, and nations raced to claim the beasts as their own to create these weapons of war. The beasts seemed to suddenly disappear, as many assumed they were taken and sealed into hosts.
However, the violence of the past four years came to an abrupt end. The allied forces of Konohagakure and Amegakure, after surviving an onslaught from Sunagakure, then Kirigakure and Kumogakure attacking from the side, made a desperate gamble. Using their combined forces, the two nations went after Sunagakure, and then unleashed a surprise on Kumogakure. Sending one of their Jinchuriki, escorted by a group of ANBU, they managed to sneak into the capital. Soon after, thanks to a forbidden technique that died with the ANBU escorting the host, they used the chakra of the Jinchuriki to create a massive explosion. The result being the total destruction of the capital, alongside the force sent by Konohagakure and Amegakure. Not long after, the other countries sat down for a truce. The land that had been controlled by Kumogakure was split between Kirigakure, and Konohagakure. Sunagakure, simply surrendered to Konohagakure to avoid being vassalized after a successful invasion of their country. In the months since, all has been quiet as it usually is in the wake of a bloody war. There are occasional rumors of attacks in the smaller countries floating around. People seem to be a bit on edge, wanting to avoid another conflict so soon after the war. There is a new darkness on the horizon, and it is coming.
The first class of genin since the war is about graduate. You are among one of the genin standing ready, about to graduate. Something is brewing. What legend will you write? Your story is simply beginning. More to the point, the world is about to change;

Naruto AU: Team 4's Story is, as is obvious, an AU rp using the world of Naruto. That being said, I will go ahead and state that I don't intend to use anybody or events from the Anime/Manga itself. Just the world and what comes with it (Villages, Jutsu, Nations, Etc.). I am just looking for a small group of 3 to 5 to play the members of Team 4. We will all be starting as Genin fresh out of the Academy, and follow the characters as they progress throughout their lives. The story takes place four months after the Great War finished, the military is quite small compared to what it used to be, thanks to war. We will be playing the genin graduating the academy, as part of the first class to graduate since the war. All of our characters will be assigned to Team 4 of Konohagakure, and we will play out their lives as the team is faced with the growing threat.
