Ever make a mistake so bad, that it hurts every time you just think of it? Ever wish you could go back in time and fix everything so you didn't hurt the one who matters most? Yeah, me too.

Bio

Do not go gentle into that good night
By: Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Ryland “Ry” Astrapí

Ryland was front and center in the group that Kiera found training. With his own dummy set up, he was able to demonstrate moves for the younger campers all around. Bearing a shield on one arm and a sword in the other, he moved with the fluidity of a trained warrior. Though he moved slowly for his trainees to see. A cut from the side and a shield brought up overhead as if to block an attack from above. His students moved in kind as he watched and nodded approvingly. Occasionally moving around to stop one of the students and critique their movements. Though overall he seemed like a kind teacher, one who genuinely cared how well each of his students was doing at their tasks. Of course, why wouldn't he? This was literally life or death when out in the real world for those he was teaching. After a few moments, he paused and noticed Kiera leaning against the wall and nodded. Looking towards one of the obviously older campers, he pointed at them. "Somebody I need to talk to. Johnathan, you're in charge of the class until I am back. I want all of you to do two sets of what I showed you, then two sets of the basic stabs. Johnathan, make sure everybody is doing it and help out the less experienced students." He commanded simply before turning and making his way up the steps. As he did, Kiera would see his shield turn into a watch while the sword he threw up turned into a simple pen as he caught it.

"Hey, hopefully, Mr. D didn't turn you off from camp too much." Ryland said with a small smile as the blonde stopped just short of Kiera. After giving her a few moments to respond, the boy looked back towards his class training below. "So, stop by just to admire me, or do you want to get a weapon and some training? Figure its a bit more fun than standing around being confused all day, yeah?" He asked with a small grin, fully aware of the slight flirt he had tossed in just to see how the girl would respond to it. Having asked his question, Ryland leaned against the opposite wall and kept an eye on his students from above. They were truly doing rather well if one were to ask him. Of course, it's not like he would tell them that one. Last thing he wanted was for a bunch of kids his age with deadly weapons to be thinking they're the next greatest thing. He could only imagine how much Apollo cabin would be screaming at him from the wounds they would have to deal with. But he wore an approving look as he watched the group, a smile that certainly showed the sense of pride that Ryland found in his students training below. Something that even Kiera might be able to notice were she to be paying close enough attention.

As they made their way towards the Hermes cabin, Kiera had a question for him it seemed. Looking back towards the girl he gave a small shrug before responding. "About four years, actually. I usually stay year-round at camp here, trouble seems to find me on the outside." Ryland responded in a rather calm manner. To him, the camp had become his home so he didn't really see anything strange with having stayed at camp for so long. As they approached the entrance to the cabin, he could already hear the chaos unfolding inside and rolled his eyes. Giving Kiera an apologetic look, he swung the cabin door open to the dull roar of accusations and general chaos erupting inside of the cabin. "Listen up kiddos, you got a new cabin mate for the time being until she's claimed. Treat her well, and if I hear about anything being stolen then we got a problem. Her name is Kiera, though I will let her introduce herself." He said in a rather confident tone as the cabin turned to look at the boy for a few moments. When Kiera elected to ask a question instead, she got various answers about camp activities ranging from volleyball to sword training. Along with more than her fair share of friendly greetings and waves from the cabin members. Seemed everything was going rather well on that front if Ryland had to take a guess. Though soon enough the time to quietly watch the interactions was over, as the question from Kiera was turned then on him. Giving a small shrug once more, he wanted to give a simple 'nothing much', but figured that wouldn't fly too well. "Well, I evidently welcome our new campers now, I also teach the combat training down in the arena, and I'm the Oracle's guard as needed. Other than that, play soccer and prank our poor Oracle until she threatens me." He said with a slight grin at the last comment.

Once she seemed settled in, Ryland spoke up once more towards Kiera. "Since it seems like you're settled in, why don't I show you around camp?" He offered as he gestured for the girl to follow. He knew he had to show her around more or less, and end up at the Big House to meet Chiron at the end of it all. Once they were heading out, he gestured around at the massive amount of cabins surrounding the central firepit, each seeming to have vastly different themes. Ranging from the landmine-ridden Ares cabin to the barbie-like dollhouse of Aphrodite cabin. "This, is where we have all the cabins. One for each God and Goddess, once your parent claims you, you'll be moved to their cabin. There you can meet your siblings and just, in general, enjoy the aesthetic of being among people just like yourself. If you ever need me, I'm in the big stone one on the end." He said as he pointed towards the Zeus Cabin that seemed to spark with electricity occasionally along the roof. "Feel free to come by whenever I'm the only one in there so you won't be bothering anybody." He said with a slight laugh before continuing on his way. He took her by the forest, along with the cautions of never to go in there along, the lake and canoes, the lava climbing wall, and of course the arena. Though he ensured to stop and show her everybody's favorite building, the mess hall. At the arena, however, Ryland explained why it was important for them to know how to fight. Of course, he also mentioned getting her a weapon later before finally leading Kiera off towards the Big House. "Alright, and finally we got the Big House. I know this was all a chaotic blur, but you'll get used to it I am sure. Just head inside to meet Chiron and Dionysus, though I think it fair to warn you that Dionysus is a bit of a dick so... expect that." He said calmly before waving to her and taking a step back. "If you're up to it later, Kiera, I'll be at the arena teaching combat lessons. We can get you a weapon and some lessons, or just chat. See ya around." The son of Zeus said before turning to head off to start his lessons for the day.

Ryland woke up rather early that morning, remembering that Chiron had wanted him to be ready to start as an orientation leader for any newbies who may arrive, and remembering that one was coming on that day. Although it seemed he had woken up entirely too early as when he looked outside the sun was just barely rising. Letting out a small grown, he looked towards the statue of his father that loomed in the cabin and seemed to be watching him at all times. "Couldn't like, be a helpful alarm clock so I get used to sleeping in, huh pops?" The boy muttered even though he knew the stone would not answer in return. Groaning in complaint as he rolled out of bed, the son of Zeus decided to go for a simple combination of shorts and camp t-shirt for the day. No need for much else. With that out of the way, Ryland set out to start his day a bit early by heading out to the arena. Wanting to make sure that things were in order for the later training class that he would have to be teaching. Humming to himself as he walked, Ryland was certainly rather enjoying the summer morning air, especially since it hadn't had time to get hot and humid yet in the day. For now, it was simply nice and cool thanks to the air rolling in off of the lake.

Arriving at the arena, Ryland was pleased to see that nobody had messed with how he had organized the dummies and weapons which he would be teaching with later that day. Usually, he half expected that one of the Hermes kids would come by to play a prank, or the Ares kids would try to steal some just to spite him after their latest embarrassment during capture the flag. With a small shrug and a sigh he still went through to closely inspect each weapon and make sure it was up to par. The process including making a few slashes with a sword here, a couple of stabs from a spear there, and the likes with each weapon. The process taking him quite a few hours until nearly when he had to be up at the hill to meet their newest camper. As he finished with the last one, the boy set it back in its place and began briskly making his way up and out of the arena. Making his way briskly across the camp, Ryland called out a few friendly greetings to those he passed as they all got up for the day and started going about their daily routines. It wouldn't be long before he arrived at the hill, deciding to lean against the tree while he waited for Miss Kiera Donovan to show up. Wonder who's kid she will be? He mused to himself, almost wondering if perhaps another big three or powerful demigod was going to show up on that day. Maybe that was why Chiron had been adamant he start that day? He wasn't sure, and it didn't matter for now.

An Hour Later

Atop Half-Blood hill, a blonde boy waited leaning against the pine tree for the newcomer. He looked like your average 15 year old, nothing out of place about his camp t-shirt, jeans, or even the bead necklace around his neck. As the girl grew close, Ryland pushed off from the tree and gave the girl a small wave. "Welcome to Camp Half-Blood." He started with a kind, relaxed smile that had something charming about it. "Kiera Donovan, I take it? I'm Ryland Astrapí, Chiron asked me to welcome you to camp today." He said in a relaxed manner as he turned to look back towards the valley that housed the camp. "You'll meet him later, but first I take it you'll wanna get settled in and have a little tour of the camp. Get to see whats up, no? Also, feel free to throw any questions you have my way as soon as they come up." He said once more and gestured for the girl to follow him as he set out into camp. Making his way first towards the Hermes cabin where she would be staying until her parent claimed her. Judging by the woman he had noticed down by the car, Ryland felt like he could safely assume it was on the Gods who would be claiming her. "We'll get you set up first in Hermes Cabin, they welcome all our newcomers until your parent claims you. Buncha friendly folk, but word of advice, keep a close eye on your stuff." He explained as they walked towards the array of cabins fixated within the Valley.

Fumiko "Kuīn" Nakamura

Fumiko followed along listening to her friend offer to buy Amelia some of the art supplies. The girl allowing herself a small smile at the situation, especially given Amelia's adorable response to it. She wasn't really overly interested in art supplies but wasn't really sure what to say. She wasn't sure she wanted to just be that girl and butt into their conversation. As such she just pulled out her phone and surfed some of her social media as she walked along behind them. Though occasionally something grabbed her attention long enough for Fumiko to look up and give a curious glance for a few moments.

Although something caught her eye for certain, and it wasn't the art. Standing behind the cash register was what seemed to be somebody around her own age, something she felt shouldn't be at a job like this. But whatever. That wasn't the point, as the girl mumbled something to her friends about going to check out the 'artwork' then sauntered off towards the man. Were the two to look over later, they would find Fumiko leaning on the counter having a rather amicable conversation with the man. Though her giggles and looks suggested rather that she was flirting with the handsome guy. Not that she overly intended to go anywhere with it, but it was fun.

"Honey, I could drive circles around your muscle and still win a race." She fired back playfully at Riley as they went along the road towards the art shop. She wasn't really one to frequent such stores, as her artistic talent was firmly zero on that front, still it would be interesting to see how Riley and her friend reacted. As they arrived, Fumiko hopped out of the car with ease and was waiting for the two up on the curb. Fumiko looked at the small apartment style building and for a moment wore a frown, wondering if this place was like, higher end than it seemed or something. Wiping the look off her face, she gave a small sigh as she looked at the two. "It's a cute little store." She said softly before walking into the store.

After walking in and giving a polite greeting to the cashier as she stepped in, the blonde's head tilted slightly to the side for a few moments. Listening closely to the music quietly playing over the speakers, she immediately picked up the beat and lyrics. She should know, afterall it was her voice coming through the speakers. As she followed along with the two, Fumiko was humming perfectly in beat and pitch with the song. Overall rather enjoying herself as she got to do something that just felt... so normal with Riley.

The girl kept her sunglasses on the top of her head as she followed the two to Riley's car. "Nice car Riley~. Think mine is faster though." She said while playfully sticking her tongue out at her friend. As she saw Amelia get in the back seat, Fumiko walked around top hop in the passenger's seat. [b]"You didn't have to, I don't mind the backseat, Amelia." She said as she got in, wanting to make sure that she wasn't putting the other girl off. After saying her piece the girl sat down and quickly unlocked her phone, holding it up and snapping a quick picture of herself in the seat to upload to her social media. No point being silent on there all day, that would only get the paparazzi hunting.

Soon after that, she heard Amelia asking about where they were going and Fumiko turned towards Riley with a slight look of curiosity. She most certainly didn't know any art shops, given that her artistic capability as far as not being the performing arts started and ended at stick figures. "I'm also curious where we are heading! Hopefully some place with some nice stores nearby, I don't wanna make you drive all over the place Riley." She chimed in, still looking rather pleasant and happy to spending some time with Riley.
Fumiko "Kuīn" Nakamura

"You girls need to have some more fun!" Fumiko pouted at them as she crossed her arms and looked between the two. "I could spend all day shopping, its fun when you're just going out with your girls. Besides, I promised dinner earlier, and we should all totally hit the bars or the club tonight. It'll be fun!" She said in an upbeat tone, hoping the two would be happy to tag along and shop for a bit, or go out later that night with her. Fumiko felt like that kind of excitement was exactly what everybody needed more of in their lives. Besides, she hadn't seen Riley in forever. She wanted to go out, get drunk, and have a grand old time with her bestie. If Riley had a roommate, then Fumiko felt it would've been rude to leave poor Amelia out of it. Besides, she was never really against making some new friends.

When the question was raised about driving, Fumiko looked away for a moment before chiming in. "I can't drive because my rental only seats two. I can call a Limo to come to pick us up or something if you two want?" She asked while tilting her head slightly to the side. Afterall, they had offered to let her stay with them. Fumiko felt like it was only right to spoil the two while she could in thanks for letting her stay here. Less paparazzi and so much more fun than hanging out in a hotel room on your own.
Fumiko "Kuīn" Nakamura

Fumiko rolled her eyes at Riley as she said that she wasn't really into acting. "I think you would make an awesome superhero though. Either way, I'm always down for shopping dummy." Fumiko retorted, almost insulted that her friend would think she would want anything other than to go shopping. "If you guys don't me tagging along that is. Just don't point any fingers if Paparazzi show up." She said with her fists firmly planted on her hips as she stared down Riley for a few moments before playfully giggling as she over to rummage through her bag for a moment until she seemed to find one of.... many purses hidden within. [b]"Perfect! Lugging around a huge purse sucks." She said happily as she put the small purple one over her shoulder.

Moving then to change all of the important things over to the small purse, she offered a smile towards Riley before turning to head out into the main room once more. Ensuring her aviators were still on top of her head she entered the main room and offered Amelia a friendly wave. "Heya. Riley told me you guys were going shopping. If its alright, would you mind if I tagged along?" SHe asked, figuring it was probably the right thing to ask. That, and she didn't want to run the risk of ticking off Riley's roommate. Getting a constant stinkeye or something along those lines would suck, and she didn't even know the girl. Humming softly to herself, the popstar moved to quietly lean against a wall until Riley came back out.
Anastasia "Ana" Korolev

Anastasia listened in as everybody checked themselves in after the journey to their operation zone. As she halfway listened, the girl hummed to herself and pulled whatever information she could get access to on the others' werks down to learn about their capabilities. Meanwhile, she shifted in the antigravity field that held her suspended within the Tayna cockpit. She couldn't actually see her comrades out the front of the cockpit, being housed in a separate unit to maintain the Tayna's secrecy for just a little bit longer. Once they arrived, the Tayna was already analyzing the battlefield below, borrowing the NOAH's sensors to pick targets. Identifying a single unit that seemed to be on its own for the moment, and even away from what she could guess to be where friendly units or civilians might be, she started running the calculations. Anastasia attempted to mentally prepare herself for the battle that was no doubt coming, given that it would be her first. With a deep breath, she closed her eyes for a moment and let herself merge with the machine she was piloting. Allowing her mind to assist in the calculations as she felt a familiar embrace, almost if from an old friend, all around herself while the procedure continued. A way to calm herself, as the calculations were easy to handle and emotionless. They carried no fear with them, no threat of imminent destruction and an abrupt end to the life she had so recently gotten a taste of for the first time. Something she was not willing to give up.

A small beeping in the back of her mind made the girl suddenly aware of the fact that the calculations had finished, and her path was locked in. A chilled breath left her lips as she could feel goosebumps and something building in her gut. Unease? Something like that. Fear? Most certainly. Before engaging her piloting controls once more, Ana quickly slapped herself hard across the face. Using the pain to focus herself on the task at hand, she couldn't even afford seconds of self-doubt or anything to cloud her mind during the drop. As she shoved her hands forwards into the holographic gauntlets floating in the air, the girl could hear and feel her werk coming to life. Deep within its core, the alien drives that powered the experimental behemoth let out a dull whine before sharply increasing in pitch, then falling silent as they settled into themselves. Lights flickered on within the cockpit, painting it a dull green before they shut back off and various holographic screens appeared around her head. Looking through the status of all parts of the werk she once more nodded then pushed away all screens except those relevant to combat. "воин." She said softly to the werk as the whole cockpit brightly illuminated for but a moment before darkening again in acknowledgment. Her werk online, she let out a sigh as she reached forward and grabbed the antimatter rifle hanging just in front of the Tayna, a signal which caused her little hangar to start decompressing.

Anastasia waited, the decompression finishing just moments before they got the command to drop. Of course, by that time the girl had already loosed her werk and was about to disembark. Opening up the comms channel, Anastasia addressed her squad quickly. "Пусть Бог следит за нами. Tayna, deploying for maximum impact landing." The girl said, as her werk left the ship she added once final comment. "Извините Катя", knowing the member it was aimed towards would understand her words as she left before Katya gave the orders to the squad. Rocketing down through the atmosphere, Anastasia closed her eyes once more to assist in the moment to moment calculations, allowing the raw data to flow before her eyes instead of using the visual method to judge her distance. The Tayna's Anti-Gravity Generators occasionally firing to control the speed and course of the fall. She was coming in fast, but not wanting to go off like a nuclear bomb or lose her life. Instead aiming for a fast landing, with a rather destructive side effect for her chosen victim. Altitude numbers flashed before her eyes as the girl's fall continued and she aimed towards her target. Suddenly the numbers "flashed" within her mind and her eyes flew open. With a few motions of her hands, she activated the powerful phase shift engine within the werk. The very atoms that made up her werk suddenly changed their properties to make the werk able to sustain the impact that would occur in the next few seconds. It was now or never...
