Ever make a mistake so bad, that it hurts every time you just think of it? Ever wish you could go back in time and fix everything so you didn't hurt the one who matters most? Yeah, me too.

Bio

Do not go gentle into that good night
By: Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

The girl stopped practicing for a good while, her attention stolen by the sounds of the fighting from the capture the flag game going on in the background. The sounds of people fighting made her wonder how many people were getting hurt out in the fight, despite the fact that the ones running the place didn't overly seem concerned about the games. She wondered if her cabinmates were winning the fight, and almost wondered what would have happened had she try to participate. Though that thought was quickly pushed out of her mind as a mere fantasy, considering she had virtually no combat skills and couldn't even see for that matter. She would've served no purpose except as a punching bag for the other team. Letting out a long sigh as she tilted her head to the side, she wondered about how long it would take for her to learn enough skills to be useful in such a situation.

Turning her attention back towards the spellbook that sat open in her lap, she let out a long sigh as she tilted her head towards the book. As if she was reading the book despite not being able to really see the book. After a few moments, she ran her fingers across the braille once more, yet again trying to figure out if she had missed anything in the spellbook. Satisfied that she had quite completely managed to read every bit of information that one could gleam from the text. Then focusing once more on the process of calming herself, gathering the magic, and exerting it to gather the air in enough to ignite. Then focusing on igniting the air and turning it into a ball of flame floating above her palm, like a true little sorceress. Except that wasn't exactly what happened, instead a few small embers popped this time along with the sparks, followed by a sigh of an irritated young girl.

As he cursed out the bot, Roman was sure his end was coming before it was suddenly cut down by the good doctor. The man felt a tinge of irritation at that, mixed in among being thankful for the save. Though his pride could really only handle so much embarrassment, which was really all he had been doing on this mission. Not to mention the fact that the fucking wizard had to save the man of science. That was one point for magic and being down one for science. He was a disappointment to scientists everywhere, and even to shield agents after getting another one of his allies killed. The man was not in a very good place mentally at the moment when Shuri clapped the young man on the back before heading through the portal, which he followed her through soon after that point.

He arrived after Strange and Doom had already been arguing a bit, and was wondering who the other voice was that was talking to the sorcerer supreme. Upon entering the lab, he turned in the direction everybody else was looking and saw none other than Doctor Fucking Doom. His eyes went wide in a mere moment as he realized who they were in the room with and heard Cassandra's comments on the matter. He wanted to tack in that they would be exceedingly stupid to trust Doom with anything more than dancing for their amusement. The man practically screamed 'I'm doing to betray you terribly and you're gonna feel bad haha nerd' at the world. Yet here they were willing to trust him just like they had with the Scarlett Witch.

As she soared through the skies on Champion's back like she had as a little girl, the young hero found herself unable to enjoy the feeling like the carefree girl she had used to. Instead, the girl had her head on a swivel to keep a watch for anything flying at them as it seemed almost impossible that she had finally escaped from that hell. The girl's mind constantly racing as she tried to find where the next threat that would be coming and where it would be coming from. Yet, such was not the case as they flew undisturbed through the air and hopefully towards her sister. Though it seemed the Champion didn't exactly know where Verra was, which stuck the young girl as odd given that he said they had been searching for her together. As they flew, she saw something out of the corner of her eye... a blur of movement that seemed to be coming towards them. In a mere second, the girl's tail popped up and shot out a long tongue of flame that quickly incinerated the... poor bird. Her eyes were a bit wild as her body tensed like it was ready for combat for the next few long moments before her heart finally stopped pounding in her chest. Her eye wide as she realized that she had just reacted so strongly, so quickly to something as small as a goddamn bird. An innocent creature who had done nothing wrong besides vaguely flying near them, and she had slaughtered it without a second thought. A look of horror spread across her features as she realized that it had been no threat, yet she had reacted as if she were still in that place. Perhaps in some part of her mind, she had truly never left the scar.

The thoughts racing through her mind sent her down another path as she looked at what had made it so easy for her to slaughter that poor bird. Staring first at her arms of metal, she could swear she could almost see the little machines that bonded together to create the limbs. Then she thought to the tail and her legs. A dark thought crossed her mind as she started to wonder if her sister would even recognize her anymore. Would Verra even see the cute little sister she used to have anywhere within her anymore? Would she even see a girl or just a machine? What if Verra didn't accept her for what she was nowadays? The thoughts shook Nano to her core, the girl feeling tears building up in her eye as her heart sank. Her stomach seemed to freely flip around within her body, fueled by the massive amount of unease coursing through her veins in those moments.

So bad was the anxiety, that she almost told the Champion to call off their search for Verra. nano being unsure if she was really ready to face her sister. Wondering if it was better to truly just let what connections Lexi had left die off than it was to face the possible pain that could come with trying to reconnect with those very connections. Her mind raced, trying to find just about every excuse she could find to justify suddenly not wanting to find her long lost sister. Something beyond the nerves and anxiety over what she had become and how Verra would feel about it. Yet she would never get the chance to voice any of these excuses, as soon enough the Champion began their descent towards the ground. Nano even soon enough finding a girl who looked very much like Verra, even down to the hair color eating a peach.

In that moment, whatever doubts she had racing through her mind were immediately washed away. Instead, it was replaced by a feeling of pure elation at the fact she had finally found the sister she thought lost for so many years. She wasn't sure how Verra survived, given what she had experienced, but she didn't care in that moment. A goofy grin appeared on her features as Champion landed, and tears welled up once more. Only these tears were instead ones of joy for the moment than those she had from mere moments ago. So eager was she, that by the time Champ had managed to clear his through and start to address Velocity, Nano had already covered three-quarters of the distance between them and was leaping into a tackle hug towards Verra. Words were not spoken, as the girl couldn't find the words to say. Instead, she just wanted to hug Verra one more time. Almost as if she was trying to confirm that her sister was real and not some fevered hallucination of a girl still trying to survive alone in the scar.
Its been like two months, but hey here is my sheet!

The man was caught off guard whenever Cassandra turned on him rather coldly, and he could've sworn that he lost control of the Ultron drone in his moment of lacking focus whenever the woman turned on him. Yet his little Ultron-bro seemed to decide that it was cool sticking with club Roman. So instead, it went around and ruined two of its pals before the fight finished, something he was rather thankful about. As he really didn't want it to suddenly turn and shoot him in the foot, that would most certainly suck. But seeing how the group seemed to all be alright after the battle, he really couldn't complain all that much about how things turned out. Even if the girl he had been growing closest to now suddenly hated him, and rightfully so, due to his damn actions. He was smarter than this, he could most certainly do better.

As the group started heading towards the portal to leave, Roman looked over at Bonnie. He felt his heart drop a bit as he mouthed a small apology towards the corpse. Then turning towards the Ultron drone, he let out a small sigh as he walked over and pat it on the shoulder. "Sorry, 88. Gonna have to ask you to rest now." He said as he tried to leave a few commands for the bot to self destruct after they went through the portal. The name he gave it referencing an assassin droid from Star Wars, but he didn't expect the drone to really know that. As he started to walk away, he heard the sounds of the drone preparing to fire, and immediately started to run. However, the drone fired and hit his foot, causing him to tumble to the ground in front of the portal, yelling out in pain before he looked back at the drone. "DID YOU READ MY FUCKING MIND OR SOMETHING!?" He shouted, as he tried to get back to his feet and make towards the portal, the irony of his earlier thoughts coming true exactly only filling him with rage as he tried to make it before either the portal closed or the drone caught him.

The girl wore an expression of annoyance for a moment whenever the centaur addressed her and his advice was basically to just 'relax'. She had never been particularly good at hiding her emotions. Grumbling in annoyance to herself she turned back to her practice with the damn magic. She read through the spell once more, carefully analyzing how each little bit of it would work for her. Thinking to what the centaur had told her mere moments ago, Jade let out a small sigh before closing her eyes. Not that it made any difference, and taking a deep breath to try to control her breathing and relax a bit before trying her best at the spell once more. Once she felt her irritation ebbing away, and a calm settling in Jade attempted the spell once again. Focusing on the magics required to make it work, Jade attempted to form a flame in her palm.

Then was greeted moments later by the smell of smoke, and a few small sparks hitting her arm. The small burning sensation wasn't really all that painful, but the rage that flared in her chest certainly was. With a loud huff she threw the spellbook down and said quite a few words that were rather un-ladylike. Though a few moments later, her mind focused on a single thing. She had actually produced sparks that time! Instead of the usual just smoke! The girl almost squealed at this discover, as that was something she had been completely unable to do mere hours beforehand. She wanted to celebrate, but told herself not to do that just yet. She could celebrate when she could complete the spell. With new determination flowing through her veins, Jade picked up the spell book and dusted it off. Determined to make everything work for her this time around.

Things went to shit just about as quickly as his victory had seemed to arrive. When the drones exploded, the explosion and shrapnel from the explosions caused chaos among their ranks. Going as far as to even cut down Bonnie, one of their team members and a close friend of Cassandra. He swore to himself, realizing that he had been the cause of another teammate to die. First, he had been blind to her influences and gotten his old squad killed. Now he had made a choice to blow up some drones and killed another. "I-I didn't." He muttered softly, eyes wide as he realized he was failing at the whole reason he had even joined SHIELD in the first place. To save people. Yet here had just killed another one of his teammates, people that he was supposed to support and protect in the field. Moving quickly, he moved over towards Cass with the intention of pulling her to her feet and getting through the portal.

Then the portal closed, and Roman was stuck out here with all the drones. Focusing solely on one of the nearby drones that had yet to be attacked, Roman attempted to steal control of the drone and turn it back on its own allies. Using that to try to cause discord among their troops and give even more of an advantage over their enemy. The man channeled all of his energy and was unable to break through the firewalls of the drone, cursing to himself. Determined not to be useless in the manner of the field, he tried a second time only to be rebuked but learned a bit about this one's programming. "You're mine, asshole." He growled as he broke through their firewalls on the third attempt. Turning the drone to stop attacking his allies, and instead, turn and start firing upon its own former allies. A victory that Roman hoped would help turn the tide just a bit more.
