Todd Reynolds
Beacon Cliffs
Beacon Cliffs
"Here! Todd Reynolds is absolutely here and totally not! late!" The dark man made a dead sprint towards the remaining crowd near the Beacon Cliffs, desperately trying to shove his hand into a sea themed gauntlet. Todd was really pushing his luck. Not only did he barely make it to initiation yesterday, he forgot to put an alarm for this morning, and was running late for the real initiation! Todd managed to throw on a blue hoodie with the sleeves cut off, the necklace with the red coral around his neck, some beige shorts and worn sneakers. Over his casual clothes were sea themed leather gauntlets with a matching leather chest plate, and strapped to the holster on his back was a very unimipressive fishing harpoon. Sure it made a few of the students he walked by chuckle, but he knew the weapon's true power. In real combat the harpoon turns into a great Trident that holds great power! It was the pride of his small town of Caiter. But the weapon prefers to humble itself, becoming a tool that is used by a hard working and dedicated person. Ever since Todd's father died he was that man. The weapon chose him, and he will use its power to become a hunter and protect the world from this fear!
But he can't do that when he's late! He arrived at the crowd, doubling over and holding up a thumbs up. "Alright.... I'm good... What did I miss?" A few of the students snickered at his direction, making him run a hand through his jet black hair in embarrassment. Profesor Ozpin gave a humored smile at the young man, and repeated the instructions. As he talked Todd looked out into the vast amount of trees. The Emerald Forest. Get the crystal, fight your way out. Got it.
"So, uh how do we get down there? Some sort of elevator or someth-- WHOOOAAAAAAAA!!!! Todd was launched into the air with a few other students, and as someone who spent his whole life on the sea and beach, heights weren't his favorite thing. His dark green eyes scanned desperately for which way was up, and what was down. Maybe Litore could help him! He tumbled in the air, trying to pull his weapon out from his back, but suddenly the blurred images stopped immediately, and a large thump hit his head. After seeing nothing but stars for a second, he had got his bearings and came with the conclusion that he was hanging in mid air.
The tip of the Harpoon's blade was wedged into a massive tree trunk, suspending Todd from his back at a sickening height. "Alright... A graceful entrance..." Todd looked upwards to the harpoon's blade, and frowned. With a bit of effort Todd managed to slide the weapon out of the back holster, and grabbed on the shaft, hanging from it. He pulled himself up onto the harpoon, planted his feet on the trunk of the tree so that he was parallel with the ground, and tried to yank Litore out of the tree. "Come on, don't do this to me... We are sitting ducks out here!" Todd muttered, pulling even harder on the harpoon. When he was finally successful at pulling his weapon out of the tree, he immediately started to scream as they were now falling towards the ground yet again.
Todd managed to landed on a thick branch, moving his arms frantically trying to keep balance, which he failed at. The second branch he hit wasn't as kind. He landed hard on the branch, his crotch making contact. He gave a weak whimper as he slid off the branch, but the third one he managed to grab on to by his chest. He gave a sigh of relief as the pain started to melt away, but his eyes shot back open when he heard a crack. The branch broke off, and once again Todd went tumbling through the sky.
The green eyed man didn't die from this fall, probably because his fall was cushioned by someone else's body. He gave a groan of pain, and was immediately pushed off of someone. He struggled to his feet, his fishing harpoon in hand, holding the side of his head. "Sorry about that, I uh, not that good at flying." Todd said, looking at the figure he landed on.
She had long dark hair, a very deadly looking sword, and her glare was just as deadly as the sword. He couldn't really blame the girl. Not many people were happy when someone falls on them from the sky. Especially when that person has just become your partner for the next four years in this academy. "I'm Todd. Todd Reynolds." The boy's voice was strong and confident, an apologetic grin on his face.
