Ethnicity: American-Italian
(Can only understand Italian)Physical Appearance: The easiest way to describe Vance's appearance is simply; Trouble, or rather, a troubled history. His rugged facial features tells the story of his abrasive past. His heavy-set eyes and thickly-lined jaw give off an air of menace or underlying bitterness about his person. V's past struggles are also punctuated by an old scar that runs over his left eye. His purely white hair brushes down each side of his face and stops just below the jawline. He tends to keep it at this length out of preference more than anything. Vance likes to maintain his chiseled physique and takes great care in his own bodily health. He does, however, have a few distinct scars on his body which can easily be made out to be knife wounds or injuries caused by other sharp objects. Despite this, Vance doesn't mind people seeing them rather than hiding them away. His shoulder-blades are covered with an intricate Edo-Japanese tattoo which extends down each arm, eventually stopping at the insides of his forearms.
Attire: Tends to stick to darker colours, predominantly black, dark greys and blues. Likes to wear standard, form-fitting
tops but nothing too extravagant. He can often compliment these single-coloured t shirts with his favourite
black leather jacket. His bottom half is usually covered with
dark, slim-fit jeans or
chinos. His choice of footwear can be anything from Converse to High-tops and anything in between. His shoes are easily the most diverse thing about his clothing.
PersonalityOutward & Innate Personality: Vance is typically the cautious type, quiet and calculating. He can come across as rather sinister or thinking himself superior to others when, really, he is just highly mistrusting of those who surround him. He can sometimes be seen as constantly on edge, as if expecting something to happen at any moment. This is normal behavior for him and is usually only supplanted with a more lethargic, or seemingly relaxed, behavior. This lethargy is caused due to severe lack of sleep during the night. Upon entering the Academy, medical tests showed that Vance suffers with REM Sleep Behavior Disorder wherein his dreams/nightmares become lucid, yet he retains his muscle tone even during REM Sleep stages. This causes him to 'act out' his nightmares which are mainly to do with the trauma of his past. These episodes can range from being merely restless and fidgety to explosive and violent, depending on the severity of the current dream. He currently undergoes counselling for this, as he was also diagnosed with PTSD. (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) His sessions are once a week and he has been going to them for nearly four years. The reason for his treatment being for so long is because of his status as a Meta-Human as well as how young he was when his trauma was forced upon him. The Academy simply cannot risk his PTSD relapsing in the future due to the potential damage he could cause if he went AWOL after leaving the Academy.
When it comes to socializing, Vance would prefer to keep to himself but to his dismay, being around other Meta-Humans actually forces him to be sociable. There is a marked increase in his social behavior when around other students. This can lead to heightened stress levels. To combat this, Vance has been taught various techniques to reduce his stress levels, the most effective being a simple stress-ball. During his sessions he has also begun to display certain levels of dislike towards his seemingly natural preference of wanting to be alone. He is slowly beginning to acknowledge his disorder as something which is not a part of who he is. Despite this, he refuses to tell anyone about his counselling or his past, for fear of rejection or ridicule. Overall, he is fine when it comes to idle chatter and he enjoys listening to other people talk, but direct questions can cause him to revert to silence or short answers. He has previously expressed the desire to be able to trust people, knowing that has been living in a
relatively safe environment.
Deep down, he feels lonely, despite being surrounded by other Meta-Humans. He doesn't feel as if there is anyone he can really talk to or trust, as if everyone has their own agenda. He does not refer to his Counselor as someone he trusts, but he has stated that he understands their agenda, which is to help him, so he chooses participate in the sessions as anyone else would. He shows a slight distaste towards his own powers due to his past and being exploited in the way that he was but has come to the realization that they aren't going away, so he might as well make the best of them.
Hobbies/Interests: Vance enjoys all forms of Martial Arts and the Art of Origami.
Skills/Talents: Vance has been fighting for most of his life due to his power. For the past 3 years, however, he has taken a great interest in becoming more disciplined with his fighting. As such, he has been studying multiple forms of fighting including Taekwondo, Muay Thai and Aikido. His Muay Thai is probably his strongest and most refined Martial Art, due to it's purely destructive style with the use of elbows, fists and legs. His Taekwondo is used mainly for muscle memory and disciplining his body so that he doesn't waste energy with his movements. To achieve this, he practices his Patterns daily. Aikido is a fairly new pursuit for Vance. He decided upon this style to help him to better control his power so that he could direct it far more accurately than he currently does. He can show annoyance with his inability to perform well at this particular Martial Art but this proves only to spur him on. It is one of the few things that has kept his attention enough for him to become annoyed by it.
Finally, Vance is quite an accomplished cook. Looking after his body and having a higher appetite than most has forced him to learn how to cook meals that are twice the size of your average meal. He finds cooking to be a rather relaxing thing, though he prefers not to cook for other people since he feels as if it would be showing off. Some people have discovered his talent for cookery and have often asked him to make something. It is a common rumor that Vance knows a secret recipe for making the
"World's Best Cookies". Whenever he is asked about it, though, he merely states that he found the recipe online.

Quote(s): "If you told me you're honest, you'd be lying..."History/Bio: Vance is the bastard son of Giovanni De' Medici; Head of the, New York-based, Medici crime family. He was raised mainly by his mother, who was a lowly prostitute in the employ of the Medici's. Her pregnancy was an extremely hushed up affair, simply because, if Giovanni found out, he would kill both her and the baby. Being a Crime-lord, however, you generally tend to come by most information, even when it is supposed to be hidden from you. Initially, Giovanni was angry at the thought of an illegitimate child but upon discovering that he was having a son, he allowed them both to live and gifted the child with his last name so that he could carry on the family line, despite not being of 'pure blood'.
That was the only interaction Vance ever had with his father for the first 9 years of his life. It was only after his powers materialized did Giovanni suddenly become interested in his bastard son. Giovanniās own grandfather had been a Meta-Human, one that possessed terrifying strength. Which he used to carve out his own piece of New-York and instill the Medici family as a household name and one to be feared. Giovanni had always been fascinated by his grandfather and his powers, so much so that he eventually killed him during his sleep out of jealousy. When he heard about Vanceās powers, that same boy who had coveted his grandfatherās strength resurfaced within him.
At first he tried his utmost to take them from V, or to at least have Vance impart them onto him. Or so heād heard was possible. But nothing worked and the head of the Medici family remained powerless. Angry at the world for not gracing him with his own power, he lashed out at his bastard son. His shock was immediate as the strike did nothing, however. Vance had stopped his attack by draining all of the kinetic energy from it, simply but touching him when he attempted to block the hit.
Wild thoughts came to the Crime-lord and suddenly Vance was accepted into the family fully but at a steep cost. From the age of 11, V was forced to fight in pits like a dog. Giovanni would line up criminal after criminal and force Vance to fight them, usually to the death or not far from it. each time he would defend himself, most times without taking a scratch, but other times he was nearly beaten half to death before Giovanni paid out. It wasnāt long before Vance had become the spectacle of New Yorkās Underworld, by his 15th year, he had beaten scores of grown men within the fighting pits, he killed more than he could remember and had been seriously injured more times than he could count. No fight was easy, each one proving to be a trial by fire. The Medici Family extended their territory drastically during these years. None of the other families would refuse the Mediciās as long as they had a Meta-Human with them.
At the age of 16, Vance was far from the child he had once been. He barely saw his mother, if at all, and his father only wished to talk about the ānext big fightā. By now, Giovanni Deā Medici ran every underground fighting ring throughout New York and had even begun expanding to Chicago and Vegas. Anyone who disagreed was offered the same deal as everyone else, Three rounds against Vance, to the death or at least severely incapacitated. For him, life couldnāt have been better. As a child, looking up to his grandfather, all he had ever asked for was power. Now, as an adult, he had that power in the form of a son. One that he believed would never betray him.
Which is why, when he found Vās room all but empty, except for an invitation letter to a certain Academy 218, Giovanni was furious. So angry was he, that he shot and killed a waiter in a high-class restaurant merely for spilling a few drops of wine on the table. It turns out that the waiter was the son of the restaurant owner, who happened to be a close associate of the Di Meoni crime family. Giovanniās actions sparked a 6 month gang war that allowed Vance to slip away, safely to the academy.

AbilitiesPower Class: Energy
Power: Hyperkinetic Energy ManipulationVance can absorb and enhance all kinetic forms of energy directly connected to his person. He his currently trying to adapt his power to include Hyperkinetic Energy Generation from his own being.
AbsorptionHe can absorb almost all Kinetic Energy directed towards him by touch. This could be from anything such as: A physical attack, a projectile attack or any other kinetic-based threat. Doing so will instantly negate the movement of the object, resulting in no damage to either party.
EnhanceHe can enhance the amount of Kinetic Energy within any object or form. This can range from inanimate objects and living beings. Doing so can either increase or reduce the amount of Velocity of the object or form as well as the force of impact the object makes with another object or being. Vance is still learning how to perform this ability without the prior use of Absorption to alter the energy levels within an object.
Weaknesses/Limitations/Drawbacks:Weight and Velocity are rather large factors that Vance has to consider when Absorbing energy. Too much of either could kill him outright. For instance, stopping a regular punch or kick would be childās play for him, as would a fast-pitched baseball. But stopping 5 or 6 speeding bullets consecutively would exhaust him almost immediately due to their extreme velocity levels. Alternatively, an Olympic Sprinter running head-on towards him would be easy to stop, but a car travelling at the same speed (roughly 30mph) would be markedly more difficult and almost indefinitely result in him being 'Overloaded'.
If he tries to stop something above his limit, Vance suffers from being 'Overloaded'. What this means is that, whilst he may absorb all the energy up to his limit, any kinetic energy left over will cause some serious damage. The leftover energy activates an immediate discharge of all the energy currently stored within him, resulting in his body being thrown in the direction of which the force was travelling. This sudden and almost explosive outburst can mean serious implications for Vance. The after-effects of an 'Overload' can range from bleeding via the nose, ears and mouth, to internal bleeding from ruptured organs or even complete organ failure. Even absorbing energy to his limit will result in extreme exhaustion and severe migraines.
The amount of time in which he stores the absorbed energy is also something that Vance has to be careful off. Large energy reserves kept stored inside his body for too long could do lasting, or even fatal, damage.
Other:- Vance is almost never seen without a bottle of water.
- He makes his own Biltong which he enjoys very much. His favourite flavours are Pepper and Chilli.
