I'll try and do a Falke post tomorrow, partially because it's late and partially because idunno who wants to get a post in there first.
@lavulman A good reason for doing what? Having those monks up that high? It's the highest point in the land and that means it's closer to their gods, that's why they live in the temple, and everywhere else in the mountains. The air is definitely really thin up there, but I was planning on that when I came up with the place.
I never intended to make the mountain that high, that's just what the current scale on our map says. It's a hand drawn map, they probably have no proper way of measuring how tall the mountain actually is XP

Yeah well, we're not on earth. So that means maybe this planet is larger and and can support more atmosphere. Also magic. Take that :P
Also just because I was curious, turns out with this scale Mount Helva is about 5.5 times the height of Everest. It's one Helva climb *ba-dum-tss*
Sorry to any Americans (cough, lavulman), but lets be honest the metric system is better.
Some Choir experiments to determine what things like "souls" and "magic" really mean in this setting and what makes them tick, that would maybe require a person or two to make and/or kill a few people.
A product of a hollow attempt of demonic conquest that has left an entire island almost completely devastated, wiping an entire culture and ecosystem off the map and replacing it with the most dangerous things in the setting. The only apparent upside is a volatile economy kept in motion largely by opportunistic cutthroats and a few religious zealots who barely manage to keep these things held back.
