Salutations and Felicitations!

As my title alludes to I'm a student. I'm currently studying for my BA in History and Ancient History. I love diving into lore be it that of the past, or whether it be the brilliant product of the human imagination.

But just as fun I find is picking lore apart and making something new with it, and that's what draws me to good role-plays. Those little references shaped into new forms are really what helps to keep me hooked, just as much as good writing.

I think Ace's description sort of works to explain better what I mean by dead but not actually dead. Like Ace said Aurora will recover in time as the soul will heal itself like the physical body, it'll just take a damn long time. The same way a body heals faster with medicine rather than leaving it to its own devices. With regards to the critical organs it's a similar thing, theoretically the spirit could recover and restore animus to the organ that has been afflicted. But since you need a heart to be beating and a brain to be thinking to stop death, someone hit there would die before their soul could recover to restore the organ affected.
@RiverMaiden It attacks the soul in that part of the body meaning the sufferer lacks the animus to use it properly. Aurora effectively has a dead wing and dead leg in the literal meaning of the word except they aren't going to fall off or start rotting and are in fact physically fine.

In order to regain use of them you'd need something to restore the soul, a stimulant for the physical body wouldn't be of any use as the blade can't do any physical damage.
@Narcotic Dollie Your welcome, mwahaha! Livia's summon Livia's rules. :P

I've got something interesting planned though, I think you'll like it.
@Ace of flames01 Wouldn't it just get grounded? Besides it's magic lightning surely as @Lord Zee is an electromancer he can manipulate how it arcs?
@SouffleGirl123@RiverMaiden@Lord Zee

Livia half blinded barrelled through the fairy's attack. She slashed with her blade catching one of the creatures legs and clipping a wing, missing her intended targets as she was blown of course somewhat by the sudden blast of light.

(River the attack isn't physical, instead it'll damage the soul so you can physically recover and the limbs are still there, but your magic and use of those limbs will be impeded at least without medical help)

Livia kept moving however following through the momentum of her attack. Then she felt it. One of the spirits she commanded shattered, she jolted as the connection broke, and then she was struck by a bolt of lightning. Livia slammed into the ground, or the closest thing she could do to slamming into the ground her ethereal nature preventing an actual impact. As she was blasted aside by the attack however her focus slipped. Then… nothing, she didn't feel the other two souls slip through her fingers… she didn't feel them at all. It swiftly dawned on her that they were already dead.

Livia swirled, a vortex of dark robes and smoke, blade still in hand. Her thoughts raced, now her blood was truly up. 'Til this point she'd been enjoying the sport the warriors of the light had offered her, but now, this, this was a real fight. She appraised the figure that had entered the clearing resuming her tactics of dodging around the clearing as she did so, making the most of her manoeuvrability to secure an advantage over the newcomer.

A human by the looks of him relatively well built, clearly he was a powerful mage. That could prove problematic, whilst Livia could ignore mundane weapons and attacks with impunity, magic could still prove a problem. She assessed her situation trying to find a solution. She ran through the options in her head, she needed to re-secure the princess, deal with the newcomer and finish off the damn fairy. In her current state it was unlikely she could just fight her way through to achieve all of those objective so she'd have to think of something else.

Then the prince barrelled towards the new figure, Livia swiftly eliminated that variable. She didn't know much about the prince but she knew he could handle himself. Livia thought it was time to truly push things in their favour, she remembered what she'd read in the old books. Why the warriors had been buried here, she smiled. With the Fairy basically out of the fight and more concerned with the unconscious princess, Livia began to utter ancient words and focussed her magic once more.
@Sarcelle Renard@Narcotic Dollie@RiverMaiden

Livia's official role in the narrative, stop mushy stuff. :P Mwahaha!

I've got another post coming right up, although it'll probably need some edits now I've read Dollie's post.
@Gate Keeper I dunno feels like it might be too soon, don't worry I've got something else planned first, if that fails then I might have to use it.

@Lord Zee That's somewhat true, but the prince shattered himself from the spell and is still recovering from Octavia being around. Meanwhile Livia is having to recover from fighting Aurora, and you blasted one of her skull's and she's been animating them the whole time and trying to keep Naya under control too.

In comparison Lucius has come into the fight fresh and full of rage. Powerful factors in a fight to be sure.
Okay Lucius' arrival has just tipped the balance somewhat, I think it's time Livia breaks out a few more tricks.

Now I've just got to work out which one? Mwahaha!
@Lord Zee@RiverMaiden

I am very glad that Livia is a spirit all of a sudden! :P

I wouldn't want to be a corporeal being trying to tank both a crazy pyromancer fairy and an electromancer.
@Narcotic Dollie@RiverMaiden@Ace of flames01

Livia's attack shot past the fairy, she was fast just as nimble as Livia was flitting about her and there. She let her attack wither in the air, the tar like tendril dissipating and degrading into ash that coated the forest floor as she called back her magical essence. This will be interesting she thought to herself, she was more used to dealing with brutes, a tedium that had grown quite repetitive, this fairy would giver her some sport at least.

That was when Livia's mind was sent reeling, she shot off course dissipating around a tree as she did so. She looked up and saw one of the skeletons dropping Naya into a ring of salt. She spat a curse in a long forgotten language, and focussed her will upon her neglected minions. The one searching for Octavia found her at last and set about securing her. It did this in a rather brutal fashion placing one armoured foot on the small of her back and the tip of its sword to the back of her neck. The second skeleton that had been watching the newcomer silently let it back away, Livia called the warrior back ordering to creep up behind Naya sword raised. The Wraith still blamed her for the Angel's escape, and she'd had the gall to blame the prince of all people! Having now seen fit to usurp her control of the dead the gloves were off as far as Livia was concerned. This only left the final skeleton the one that had helped Naya. Livia formed an eldritch sign with her free hand and the skeleton jolted, it writhed for a moment and then was still. Then suddenly the figure was ensconced in sorcerous blue flames. The figure stood motionless, except for its head, the figures head snapped back and its jaw moved in what appeared to be a silent scream. That will teach you who you serve fool! thought Livia. The flames died down, the skeleton was singed all over, what little flesh the creature had possessed sloughed off revealing blackened bone beneath. The figures eyes flickered for a moment, pink and blue swirling in its eyes until two jets of blue flames shot forth singing the ground as Livia reasserted her control.

Turning her attention from her minions back to the fairy she shot straight towards her intended foe. Her attack was head on sword raised in her right hand, she swung down making no attempt to block a return blow, or that's what the fairy would see. Livia shot round behind the fairy as her illusionary self set about attacking the figure in front of her. Livia smiled behind her hood, she kept her sword tucked in close knowing that a quick slash would suffice for a creature this delicate. The attack was methodical and precise, one rehearsed from centuries of practice the swing aimed so that Livia's blade would pass through as many vital organs as possible without becoming stuck on bone or sinew.
