Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

Even though the party had made good time back toward the village, the sun sank below the horizon before they crested the top of the hill. The steady mist that had fallen all day now became a damp fog that hugged the low lying area around the coast, obscuring the view of the village, but even from the distance, they could make out two red eyes near a barn...

The beast circled the building once, trotting around is if to investigate... then threw itself against the barn doors, splintering the wood as it burst into the building...

Rock(mar) falls and everyone dies.

Sorry... couldn't resist. Will have a post in soon-ish!
Holy moly... Lots of posts. I won't be able to get in proper reply until I'm home from work...
Hey guys... let's have a turn or two posting about our trek back to the village. I want @BKburke to have a chance to declare what his character is doing as it gets dark before the party gets back.
As Jason explored the village, he would find that it was not very large and most of it's population were farmers and fisherman, though there was a blacksmith, a weaver, and a carpenter. The houses mostly sat a short distance from the coast, although he did find a few places that may give a small advantage in a fight.

In the dimming light, the residents were hurrying to either barricade themselves and their animals in their homes for the night or to settle in at the great hall. The fact that Constable Leofwine and the adventurers had not yet returned making many of them nervous and speculation was running about if they had run into the beast!

"Don't stay out after dark!" someone warned Jason. "Best come into the hall!"

"I think it suits you," Cedric laughed, watching Rockmar's attempts at entertaining the women with the bear helm.

After Eve and June magicked the other members of the adventuring party across the pit trap and they re-emerged back outside the tomb, Cedric breathed in a few deep breaths of the cool and misty evening air and shuddered, his humor gone again. A crow sat on the limb of a tree nearby, cocking its head to look at them.

As they began their trek back, he looked at the others. "Are we going to attempt to slay it tonight?"
sorry guys.

Is the secret room the one Lunar found in the crawl space? or is there one somewhere else?

Yes... the one Lunar found.
I say give Fubsy, Lunar, and Garth until tomorrow evening. I think the decision facing the group will be to leave now and maybe make it back before the hound comes calling in town or explore the secret chamber, which would almost certainly make it past dark before the group can get back.

(I will most likely be offline until tomorrow evening. If I can get in an occasional check on my phone, I will!)
I'm very pleased to know that proper paranoia has begun to set in.
Cedric descended the stairs and saw the elf holding the fanged bear skull, "Gaudy? I dunno. I think I might think twice if I saw you running at me wearing that."
(The alter/chest is one and the same. Something similar to this, except less fancy and with the bear skull on top:)

Upon closer inspection, the fanged skull appears to have served as a crude, but probably startling helm. Removing the heavy stone lid from the alter (at least without the aid of magic) is the work of at least two people...

"Yes, where are you?" Cedric called as he made his way back into the central hallway. Assuming she was down the opposite stairs, he made his was toward her, now carrying the lion-headed shield.
