Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

The constable scrunched his eyes, seemingly caught off guard by the question. "Library... no, no library. I'm sorry." He said, heading toward a private corner of the hall at Jason's request. "Although, Father Beacom keeps a small collection in the chapel. I myself also have a small collection. Are you searching for a particular tome?"
Cedric followed Rockmar, very worried about Eve ... and still about the drow, not quite sure if it was Tarquin or not. He looked back to see the halfling holding her hand to her stomach, the still smoldering light from the fire letting him see that she was injured. "Wimena!" He hurried back to help her. "Can you walk to the hall? Do you need help?!"

Leofwine looked to those that risked their lives trying to slay the beast, but still felt burdened by the threat of the hound. "Thank you all for what you have done. I am thankful that no one lost their life tonight, but I cannot help but fear that we have not seen the last of the monster."

He turned to look at the man that had lost his barn, "Felmar, I won't blame you if you decide to leave us after this is all said and done." Although no one had come to him directly, Leofwine suspected that there was plenty of folk planning to leave their still-young community and go back to the mainland.
Surprisingly nervous but maybe that's all the coffee I've had today.

Welcome!
Okay guys I'm out for the night. TTY tomorrow. @Garth@Lunar

@Kelewen
Is that the last of the beast? Or is it going to come back?

Think back to Constable Leofwine's tale for a hint. ;)
The hound sunk his teeth down hard on Jason's arm. It pulled hard then, as if trying to actually tear the man's limb off, but Eve's struggle to contain the beast was paying off, forcing it to move slower than it might have otherwise.

Rockmar's axe sunk into the creature's ribs and it stumbled forward, starting to fall. But even before the beast finished falling, it transforms into a mist and disappears...

Cedric's attention had been almost completely on the hound, but now he turned, quickly surveying his companions to see who was critically hurt and his heart nearly jumped into his throat as he spotted a drow standing behind Eve! "EVE! LOOK OUT!"
Not sure if I've got enough for an IC post, but let's assume Rockmar succeeds at what he's currently trying. That makes for a cool battle scene... The hound's teeth trying to tear off his face while he's holding it at bay.

Actually... kudos to all! Dramatic battle, I think! :)
As the flames took over the hay-filled, dry barn, Eve's magic successfully held the hound inside the building until everyone was able to escape. For a few tense moments, it may seem like the fight was over.

But then the beast burst forth through the doorway, spear still stuck in its shoulder and obviously favoring that side. It bled from multiple wounds. The hair around it's chest and down it's back was actually on fire, giving the red-eyed hound an even more demonic and sinister look than before. Briefly it looked toward June (who carries the lion shield), but then turned its attention to Rockmar, running toward, intending to bite the half-orc as the spear prevented it from lunged with it's sharp claws...
@Blueflame Ok! PM me and we'll figure out how to work your character in!

@everyone... apologies for the OOC comment in the IC... the perils of trying to use my phone while I'm at work! I gotta catch up on the posts (cause I'm assuming I'm up...)
@Lunar would June have taken the shield? I was thinking Cedric had it, but am okay with tweaking that piece...
It was getting tight in the small barn, a flurry of teeth, claws, and weapons. As the hound reached Eve (successful attack or not), June flew into the barn and her spear impaled the beast in its massive front shoulder. It roared and snarled in pain, the spear now firmly lodged in its shoulder.

Cedric, only a moment behind June and Tarquin rushed into the barn. He felt brave... braver than he'd ever felt before! For a moment, the beast looked at him, but instead of attacking, it turned to try to grab the halfling with its claws as she passed close to it. Though certainly hindered from the long weapon sticking out of its shoulder, it still moved quick.

Almost at that same time, Taroyn's rapier sunk into the beast, causing it to snarl in pain again. It was certainly weakening, but wasn't done yet...
