Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

@AwesomeZero5 Your call on the rope. Whatever makes the story cooler. :)

Beneath the arches are flat slabs of blank obsidian, blocking passage.

Hearing some crashing from the stairwell, Tamra hurried toward the rotten stairs, the book and its codes momentarily forgotten. "Are you okay?" she yelled down, but already he was yelling something about a route with a pearl, so she assumed he couldn't be injured too badly.

"Ronan, looks like your thought to use some rope was wise. Do we have enough if we secure it to this pedestal?"
@Ashevelendar, do you have a general tech level in mind for the Galan'ter?
Is 3 too few to play the game? I don't mind doubling up if that helps. :)
@AwesomeZero5@DreadPirate@Ramzam Anyone want to jump in before I post again? :)
I'm not sure if I described it well enough, but the 3 arches do indeed look like 3 pathways. However, the obsidian slabs would prevent passage. (The fresh blood though would certainly indicate that someone passed this way very recently.)

As Takao's feet land on the steps on the bottom side of the 7 foot span, the old and rotted steps break even more under his weight and the 7 foot gap turns into a 10 foot gap as the wood (and possibly Takao) falls down about 10 feet into the room below onto a smooth stone floor...

This chamber is dominated by a trio of arches set against the walls of the room. Each arch resembles a snarling dragon; all are carved from dark mahogany and bound in bronze.

The arches would be identical were it not for their gemstone eyes. The dragon in the southwest corner of the room has emeralds for eyes; the dragon in the northwest corner, pearls; the dragon in the northeast is missing its gemstones and the eye sockets are empty.

Beneath the arches are flat slabs of blank obsidian.

An enormous eldritch sigil is etched into the stone floor, dividing the room into three distinct vectors. A fresh puddle of blood is pooled near the pearl archway...

Sorry for my unannounced disappearance, was very busy over the month >_> , anyways, I'm avaliable for RPing now, now that the stacks of workload is over ~~

Glad to have you back! When I get home from work, I'll add more description... :)
Tamra pushed against the pedestal that held the book. "This seems to be anchored to the floor. Think it would work?"

"And I've got rope too if we need more," Takao offered, moving after Ronan to investigate the broken stairs. "Think we should try to jump across or just lower ourselves down where they're broken?" He tried to peer down, but his torch light did not go far enough to illuminate the bottom...
Name: Melanie Edwards
Nickname: Mel
Race: Human

Planet: Earth

Job: Computer Programmer

Skills:

1 - Tech geek.
2 - Deer hunting.

Background: Mel grew up in farm country, Pennsylvania, but always had an aptitude for math and a general curiosity about how things worked. While her brother and sister were at social events, introverted Melanie would spend her free time solving logic puzzles or tinkering with the family computer. However, like many in rural PA, she learned to deer hunt from her father and quite enjoyed the yearly ritual of stalking the woods along side her father and older brother in the first week of December. She even had her picture featured in the local paper one year alongside her trophy buck. In college, she met a man named Jeffrey, her opposite in many ways, but is engaged to be married to him next year.

Personality: Introverted. Determined. Has trouble letting a problem alone until it has been solved. (Even then, there might be a better way to solve it.)

Notes: Nearsighted. Sucker for cute and fuzzy pets.
