Good luck, @blindwoofer. Mine likes to wash his paws off in his water dish.

@Crab... see if you can find out what she's interested in. Then ask her about it. No flirting need be involved to just break the ice. :)

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!
Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.
In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.
Anyone willing to try a 1x1 Dungeon Crawl Classics 'Funnel'?
Each player generates 3-4 random 0-Level characters by rolling on a few tables in the rule book. Then we send them on an adventure and the survivors become 1st level PCs. (At which point, if we're still enjoying the RP, we can send them on more adventures!)
Ideally, I'd like to RP with someone who'd like to take turns GMing, though I'm certainly willing to go first. I have a few general plot ideas, but our mix of characters might just suggest an interesting adventure!
For running games with dice, where/how do you do the actual die rolling? Something like roll20? Or is there a built-in die roller here somewhere that I've never noticed?
Abarat paused his stride, but kept hold of the chest while he considered the man. "Think he can carry a chest and shoot a pistol at the same time, Renna?"
Renna's mouth gaped open. Had he really just told Lorenzo De Valencio her name?! Idiot. "I don't know... Abarat," she said, emphasizing the other elf's name. "I think I'd rather not find out..."
His eyes narrowed and he hesitated, then set the trunk down, slowly. Meanwhile, the 3rd of their little group was also setting down his loot... a large keg of rum. His hand headed toward the hilt of his sword.
"Lorenzo De Valencio...?" Doubt flickered across Renna's features at the well renowned name and she eyed the pistol pointed at her uneasily. If this was really the famous swordsman, was she willing to risk gaining him as an enemy? He was obviously drunk though... would he even remember what she looked like come morning?
"Loren De Crap? Never heard of him..." said Abarat, the elf carrying the large chest. Of course, the pistol wasn't pointed at his chest.
The dwarf suddenly got out of the prisoner line. This was getting out of hand on her... fast.
Interested! Here's a rogue I created for another game using the Swords & Wizardry White Box rules, so I suspect the stats won't transfer straight over, but maybe close?

The bastard daughter of a maid servant and a minor noble, Brenna grew up mostly working as a servant herself, but enjoyed some favor from her father who acknowledged her as his daughter. He ensured she had what she needed and even provided her with archery lessons and gave her lovely bow.
She has a younger half-brother (legitimate son of her father). As children, they got along but as they grew older, the relationship soured. And upon her father's death, he pulled all financial support from her. Now, for the first time, she must make her own way.
She's managed to get an apprenticeship with a locksmith, but is impatient to make her fortune.
Back Stab - Any time a thief attacks an opponent who is unaware of their presence, the thief receives a +2 to their Base Hit Bonus. If the attack is successful, the thief may roll his weapon damage twice. Saving Throw - Thieves receive a +2 bonus to any saving throw made to reduce or avoid the effects of any trap, magical or mundane. Thievery (2) - The thievery ability may be used for any number of clandestine or stealth-based actions. From picking pockets or locks, discovering and disarming traps, remaining silent and hidden while moving or even climbing walls free-handed. When the thief attempts to use this ability the Referee rolls 1d6. If the result of the roll is equal to or lower than their rating in the thievery ability, the thief is successful in their attempt.
