Interacting with frat boy no. 1

Death. Sloane had practically grown up with it, looming over her and stealing from her, a constant reminder that her life would one day end. And although she had remained still as a deer, watching Grimbold take the life of the swan stirred a familiar fear within her and her little doe heart had quickly and loudly thumped against her ribcage. She had been with the Mentor for years and she had never seen a display like that, and the unfamiliarity only added to her anxiety. Needless to say, the walk back to the cabin was a somber one. Sloane had followed the little pack back to the cabin, gaze forward and hooves steady.

Once they had returned and dressed, Sloane remained quiet. It wasn't uncommon for her, but everyone had shared the heavy atmosphere before leaving one by one. And, she wasn't one to drink much at all, but that night Sloane had stopped at a bar. The young woman had went home with a stranger--some grad student with clear brown eyes--only to rush home the next the morning. She had clients (and a hangover) to attend to, after all.

And that's where her day really began, but she found herself being distracted even as she worked. She sipped tea between clients, and they were few and far between. Sloane got about as much business as you'd expect in a small town, but she got by. "It's done," she said, leaning away from her client and standing to her full height. Her open-toed, 4" heels weren't exactly business standard, but who were they going to tell? The owner?

After checking out his new, sick ink in one of the mirrors, the frat boy excitedly bounced up to Sloane's counter to pay off the hard work. "Thanks, it looks great!" he said simply before skipping out the door, a couple business cards in his saggy pockets.

The rest of her day would be a slow one, and her shoulders sank as she thought--she didn't want to think. Even as she sipped her tea, brewed specifically to help her relax, she grew tense. So, after double checking her appointment book, Sloane closed up shop for the day, bundled up, and stepped outside to do something. Maybe make up for missing her morning workout.
You could be the princess

I was actually thinking about it. I even have a history of playing spoiled rich brats, lmao. I'll think about it!
You should join the Skype, Rage. You don't need an account, but it'd help us discuss this more.

Aaand I'm down for whatever at this point!
I'll wait and see what kinda characters we get. If we get a lot of Anima, I'll throw in a human
I find specific stats confusing for text based RP;; BUT they would help see where everyone is in terms of skills and the like. So I wouldn't mind working it out.
That's pretty neat but
@OneWayOut Sorry, I didn't mean for it to come off as an argument haha. I'll stop. Just figured it'd be a "agree to disagree" thing but it kept going;
If that's what it tells you, then you're assuming that a person is putting down everything they know. And as someone who reuses and develops and reuses characters, I'd be comfortable jumping into a RP without even a sheet, lol. But like I said, I don't mind writing it down, but I definitely don't think it's necessary for me or any players to RP

And I mean, backstory is important in any RP. Your character never just spawns outta no where... But as long as you know it, I don't see why its important for anyone else to. Save for the GM, of course. And proving competence to the GM is really the only viable reason I see for requiring personality / background.
@Sho Minazuki That's all fine and dandy, but some people prefer to explore personality/background within the RP. I mean, I always have a solid personality or background for my characters in my head--and I'm sure others have something similar even if they don't write it all down--so I don't really care if I write it down for people to see (though I typically do). Just because it's not written, doesn't mean it's not there. And most people don't care until it's expressed in character anyway. Because I mean, really, what does history / personality do for anyone? It's not like other characters should or even can interact with you knowing this information. They gotta discover it.

TLDR: personality / history should be optional because it's pointless and dull compared to actual RP.
The girl listened patiently, her golden gaze only averting from Ozpin when the panels started opening underneath her fellow students: mostly humans, some faunus, all having something to prove by being here. She stood mostly still save for her fingers flexing in her gloves, itching to grasp Blush and tear through some Grimm-- And find the relics of course. Any time now, she thought, her patience running thin now that the ship was silent with anticipation. Kobi didn't have to wait long, however, and was one of the first students to be deployed. She dropped for no more than a couple seconds before disappearing into a rosy tear in space. She reappeared just above the treeline and fell through the canopy, landing comfortably with two legs on two branches.

Kobi pulled Blush off her back, giving it a single handed twirl before dropping to a couple branches and then the solid ground below. She was silent, eyebrows up as she looked around for any sign of Grimm or another student...satisfied with the silence, she rested the BFS over her shoulder and started walking, loosely following the direction the airship flew toward. Even if she couldn't find the ruins right away, she could at least find a partner; if not to help herself, she was always willing to help others. And anyone would be oh-so-lucky to have Kobi Rhodren on their side.
