I'd prefer high casual, but I love vampires; so I'd be willing to put in the effort for this if you throw it in advanced anyway.

Edit: didn't see how late I was, lol

Cassandra Lanik | 21 | Northern

Appearance: Cassandra stands at average height for a young woman and has lean figure. She walks tall with her shoulders back and chin up, but her gaze tends to wander away when speaking to others. She has a long face dotted with small freckles and thin lips. Her eyes are a dull blue in color, but round and alert. Thick eyebrows sit above her gaze and their dark brown color matches her long hair. She's overall rather plain in appearance and rarely smiles. As for clothes, she likes to dress plainly but practically. Skirts and dresses are fine, but it's not uncommon to catch her in trousers as well.

Personality: Despite her seemingly rebellious nature, Cassandra puts the needs of the village before her own. While quiet, she's not afraid of conflict. No one would describe her as friendly or warm due to this, but when she isn't confrontational, she's polite and respectful. She's ambitious but humble in her work and has grown to be mostly independent within the village, but of course trusts and depends on the society around her. Cassandra is observant and patient in dealing with others and--on the flip side--her reserved nature can make her difficult to read.

Skills:
- Tracking. Cassandra can follow an animal's trail well and has a light foot that allows her to get close as well.
- Archery. She had always been interested in it. Her mother was more encouraging than her father, but she was never strictly discouraged and has grown to be a fine shot. She is best with longbows.
- Bow & arrow crafting. She is good, but she is not the best. She is learning under a master in the village.
- Trap making. A more recent and less developed skill. Shooting a bow is fine and good, but she's grown to appreciate simpler ways to catch food.

Fears:
- The "other." Attributed partly to the way she was raised in a secluded village, Cassandra is weary of strangers.
- Marriage. She would like to marry, of course, but the prospect of actually being married scares her and she tends to be closed off to romance because of it.

Likes:
- Archery & Hunting, of course.
- Warm, sunny weather.
- Her family and the village

Equipment:
- A couple bows & arrows.
- Knives, some for bow and arrow making and some for hunting.
- Rocks. She prefers to trade for arrowheads from the blacksmith, but she's not against making her own if she finds the right sort of material.

Biography: Her parents are prominent within the village: her father is the most innovative in advancing the quality of farming, but it is a slow process and one her siblings will likely take over because she lacks interest. Cassandra finds it more practical to rely on hunting and gathering and has grown with the technology suitable for it emerging to practice it. Ever since she could hold a bow, she has been practicing with it and it shows. As she grew, her mother had been encouraging and her father tolerant of it.

As a young teenager, she began an apprenticeship under the bowmaker. It was difficult for her at first and she learned slowly, but it furthered her knowledge about archery and hunting. Now that she's an adult, she still lives with her parents but is growing independent through her craft and trading the food she catches.
Fang

Physical: Fang is a tall, muscularly lean woman. She has rough hands and wears foot wraps instead of shoes. Her lightly colored robes are maintained out of devotion to her goddess. Even still, the dark tattoos that wrap up and down her muscles are the most awestriking. Each one is intricately designed and it no doubt took years to acquire them all. Her head is shaved as a show of devotion to Shangri-La, and she has light olive skin. Despite her tough appearance, though, she has gentle brown eyes and a friendly face.

Abilities:
• Summoning magic. Fang's body is covered by a variety of tattoos, a host to depictions of animals and even weapons. The amount of energy she puts forth can affect how many summons she can control and how big they are. The animals found across her body include two snakes, a tiger, a bear, a turtle, and a phoenix. The weapons, usually incorporated in the intricate animal designs, include a staff, two swords, a bladed polearm, and knives. When being used, the summon's tattoo disappears. It takes energy to maintain the summons' physical forms for extended periods of time, but she can also dismiss them as she pleases. However, the tattoos won't immediately reappear once dismissed from the physical plane; over the course of a day, they will appear faded and then dark again once ready for use.

• Martial arts. Not only is Fang a fearsome master of her tattoos, she is trained in a style of fighting developed by followers of Shangri-La. The focus of this technique is to strike from afar and bring an opponent down in closer quarters. It's a style of fighting made to use an opponent's own force against them.

• Magic & soul sense. Through meditation and practice, Fang is able not only to sense the presence of magic or souls, but to also loosely read people and their intentions. It's, of course, fallible as the human and humanoid experience is vast.

Starting Gear: Save for the clothes on her back and a flat blade for maintaining a shaved head, Fang has no material possessions and seems to have no interest in keeping any.

Personality/Goals: Fang wishes to serve Shangri-La in maintaining a humble life and serving the greater good. A minority among her monastery, she was trained as a warrior, and is allowed to bend the otherwise strict rules of nonviolence. Even so, she maintains a demeanor of relaxation and is slow to anger. Beyond the years of training under her religion, Fang is kind. She has a surprisingly broad sense of humor, though likely developed later in life due to a sheltered upbringing in the monastery. Her journey alone is meant to push the boundaries of her devotion, however.

Backstory: Like most of the monks she grew up with, Fang was orphaned as a baby and left at the temple. She was trained among young boys and girls in the way of Shangri-La, a goddess figure. Unlike most of her peers, however, Fang displayed a rare affinity for magic. As a direct result, her training was altered and she was raised into the rare warrior role of her religion. She is a recent graduate of the student title, and is now traveling the world to reach a higher form of enlightenment and acquire the title of master.

Other Stuff:
• Followers of Shangri-La are known for their intricate tattoos and peaceful, charitable ways of life. Traveling monks receive mixed reactions, though: some are charitable and hospitable to monks, others see them as bums. They have a large following, but due to religious purges and wars, their numbers have been decreasing. Warriors like Fang are a minority and relatively new development as a defense against the violent world. Older monks in the religion may not agree with this development.
Name: Vivian Vanbrooke
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Villain Name: The Reaper, known notoriously for killing super heroes)

Appearance: Her round face and narrow golden brown eyes are typical of people of Eastern descent, and her dark hair falls straight, stopping just short of her chin. What little strength she has is in her toned legs--she lived a life on the run, after all. Her clothing of choice is mostly neutral colors: browns, blacks, and greys, not that she has A LOT of choice in the post apocalyptic world. However, the intimidation she was going for is easily lost to her size: she stands no taller than 5'3" and weighs in at only about 105 lbs. Other notable characteristics are the many earrings, piercings on the side of her nose and belly button, and the dragon tattoo that starts on her upper arm and extends to her back.

Costume Description: When it was worth wearing a costume, she wore a gas mask to hide her face and a tailed, dark coat over black. She also wore platform boots to make herself look taller than she really is. Her weapon of choice was a scythe--emphasizing her mission and message against heroes. She would rarely speak under this alias and she did, she kept it short due to her accent and gender being a potential give away to her real identity. But she has hung up her weapon and armor in this zombie infected world. No one would like her much if they knew she used slice people, and as plain old Vivian Vanbrooke, she can depend on people to take care of her in areas she's not as strong.

Power: The Reaper was known for their annoying teleportation abilities. In a poof of black smoke, they would be here and then there or there. Their best kept secret is that it was limited by her vision; if they couldn't sense her destination, they couldn't teleport there and blinding them would prevent teleportation completely. Vivian, however, does not wish to reveal her power to anyone.

Unique Traits:
  • Weapon handling: most notably long arm weapons. Give her a makeshift spear or any sort of pole arm and she can fend for herself a little too well.
  • Charisma: So she's a little out of it right now. But if you need someone buttered up and give Vivian enough reason to do it, she will after taking a moment to relax.

Personality: V has always comes off as pretty laid back. She can be charming enough when she wants to be, but typically isn't. She can be pretty arrogant as well--not only does she think she's better than pretty much everyone else, she believes she's smarter than them, too. And while she can be cunning, she can easily underestimate others. Her strengths lie in her street smarts, charisma, and independence. On the other hand, working with others is a chore. She's also attracted to danger and the unknown--it interests her.

Post Outbreak, she's having a little more trouble being chill. She's on edge, paranoid, and tends to go for sarcasm before charm these days. She of course still believes herself to be God's gift to mankind and will put herself before others. And she still hasn't really learned to work with others, but she has no problem sitting by and letting them do work for her. Everything considered, it's probably easy to get a "bad vibe" from Vivian, but she's careful not to adhere to social expectations and not step too far over the line.

Mental State: Less than intact. The stress of having to deal with what's left of society without taking on her The Reaper persona is difficult for her. She's almost always worried about what would happen if her identity was discovered, but she simultaneously doesn't believe anyone in backwoods country Kansas to be smart enough to figure it out.

Pre Outbreak: Vivian was born across the Atlantic to a pair of dentists in southern England. All her youth, she was pushed toward education and tradition when all she wanted was to explore and experience the world. Instead of continuing to higher education, she skipped out and followed her at-the-time boyfriend's band to America. However, the band broke up, then they broke up, and Vivian was alone in a foreign country. For a few years, she bounced between jobs trying to make a living.

When her powers developed, all that changed: she took what she wanted and no longer worried about where her next paycheck or meal was coming from. Super Heroes however, didn't quite like that. So she donned a secret identity and would continue her antics to lure heroes out...only to kill them. When that became too dangerous, she stopped playing bait and would simply sneak an attack on a hero when they let their guard down--usually right after they "saved the day" or some shit like that.

Her influence had grown so much that she only needed to show up to a bank or store and she was left alone to take what she wished. Life was great.

Post Outbreak: Then zombies came out of left field to mess up the perfectly good thing she had going. Of course, if it wasn't the outbreak, a brave and powerful hero may have finally stopped Vivian, but she's pretty convinced only something like this could bring an end to her reign.

When the outbreak began, she knew it wouldn't be good for anyone but she kept to herself, watching from the sidelines. However, when heroes started turning and passing their powers on, she knew she had to get involved. It was kinda her specialty, after all. So, reluctantly, The Reaper joined the battle against zombies--earning a temporary truce from heroes that remained--but there was only so much they could do.

When the war was loss, The Reaper disappeared again. And Vivian began her travels in post-apocalyptic America. She moved toward Kansas City from New York by jumping between settlements, usually avoiding ones with heroes, and mooching off the community to survive. However, at the first sign of bad, she would continue west again. When she came across people who thought they were better on their own, she would kill them without a second thought and take supplies that needed.

Her pattern continued and now here she is, in Kansas City, with this settlement.

Species
Dragon: dragons of Earth are as rare as other magical species, but far stronger. They take it upon themselves to defend other beings from hunters and humans who would exploit them. Overtime, they have "evolved" to take human shape, allowing them to blend in with society as necessary. They're strong and durable creatures, and (on earth) only another dragon's fangs or claws can penetrate their scales. However, the magic on Lucis is far more advanced, so there might be some weaknesses found there. They tend to live to be ten times as old as humans, so the early hundreds tend to be considered young.

Biography
Dagny was one of five hatched to a family of dragons in Sweden and probably the slowest to mature in every sense of the word. Granted, she was also the most willing to learn and optimistic about the world. The mystic community was small and she was essentially home schooled, however, and this was frustrating for the curious little dragon who wanted to explore all corners of the world. Time went by and she remained mostly isolated from the big, big world of humans. Eventually, her thirst for knowledge faded away into apathy and she grew shy in her questions and interest in the world.

Much of her personality and spunk was revived when she finally left Sweden to explore the world. Easy enough for a beast with wings sized to rival a plane. It was during this time that she really learned about the world--both the magic and technology driven--around her. She learned that creatures like her--creatures born of magic--were such a minority on Earth and they needed to be protected. Very few could contend with modern technology, but dragons like herself remained strong competitors against the evolution of human technology. Her run-ins with humans left a lot to be desired, however, and she found herself mistrusting their greed and power lust.

Then, the Black Gale appeared.

An incredible moment for both worlds, for sure, but Dagny and other dragons were hesitant to have anything to do with the phenomenon. But, time went on and the Black Gate proved dangerous not only for humans, but for other mystical creatures as well. And the second world, Lucis, proved to be swelling with magic, which spawned interest for the mystic beings of earth. Already identified as a guardian of sorts for the magical community, Dagny's personal interest grew in the Black Gate and the academies dedicated to maintaining it.

Needless to say, when she received the letter four years ago, she decided to take the school up on its offer.

Personality
Dagny's motivated and ambitious, and doesn't really do anything half-assed. Like, if you're walking, she's POWER WALKING. If you're eating dinner, she's DEVOURING DINNER. While this can make her come of as intimidating or intense, she's generally in a good, loud mood. She used to get embarrassed and quiet down, but now she's rather confrontational when she gets odd looks or whispers--though she doesn't usually mean harm.

Fear(s)/Weakness(es)/Limit(s)
Dragons are far sighted so up close, they can't see as well. Because of her natural size and weight, Dagny is physically slower than most fighters. While it's nearly impossible to penetrate or bruise her skin, any damage to her mouth or eyes will hurt like a bitch. Magic can do harm to her, too. She's not as strong as a full fledged dragon either.

Skills/Abilities/Traits
Fire breathing, super strength, and super tanky. Her true form is compacted into her human body, making her ridiculously dense and massive despite her being average size for a person. This weight makes her extremely hard to knock of her feet. On that note, she can turn into a dragon (or rather she can turn into a human because her default form is a dragon) and change her features to match that of one (for example, growing her nails into dragon claws or scales over her skin).

Theme Song
Remember the Name by Fort Minor

Other
She tends to speak English, but her Swedish accent gets thicker the more emotional or passionate she is. She's also gay, preferring women to men ten times out of ten. Joseph Conrad is a little bitch, pass it on.
Against its outer wall, Dawn would hear a thud against the cottage. On the outside, Vivian pulled her knife from another woman's chest--one much taller than herself--and sat down to catch her breath. She stared up at the cloudless sky, squinting against the brightness, as the woman's body slid to the ground. "Whew," she sighed with heavy breaths. She let her knife drop to the ground beside her before leaning forward to check the body. A Liberty courier, and Vivian assumed she had been high ranking based on 1) the well crafted armor and 2) how well she put up a fight. "But I'm better," she muttered proudly to herself before pulling out a sealed envelope. She narrowed her eyes at it and turned it over: the name wasn't important but it was addressed to one of Liberty's strongholds. "Perfect."

Vivian slipped the envelope under her jacket before grabbing her knife again. Looking around, she cleaned it off on the woman's clothes before standing to her full height of--.. a mere 5'1". After slipping the knife away, Vivian stretched, her nose wrinkling suddenly. Then she sniffed. Was that food? She stepped back from the body to look up at the cottage and then around one more time before approaching the front entrance.
Sorry for the interruption, I got bored of waiting and your group was in the only place that was outdoors.

It's okay, that's why I jumped in, too
