Should I make my character a second year then?

Hmm. It's up to you really.

Edit: What Alex said. Ten and going straight to the program? Could possibly cause some jealousy too. Especially with the prodigies not even getting in that fast.
Alright, the way I thought the Next Avengers Program was that they were a somewhat small group of the best students who had classes with each other for only those in the program but still had normal classes as well with the other students. So, please correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that mean that those in the program would at least know each other?

Yeah I assumed that too. That the students who are in the Next Avengers program all know each other. They may not be friends but they're more than familiar with them.
Richard jumped down from the drone and high fived Ben. He couldn't leave him hanging. Spider pun not intended. He followed the others to the Hall of Heroes and looked around. No matter how many times he entered this building he was always fascinated. It was like each time he entered he noticed and took in something new. It seemed that others were already here when they arrived. Including Vix. The start of their friendship wa a crazy one. You wouldn't even think they'd become friends after that. She didn't seem to notice him at first and before he could get her attention Scott Lang came on the scene. Or Mr. Lang.

By the way he interrupted James, Richard figured that he was probably upset if even just mildly so. When he asked if they enjoyed the show and what happened Richie just shook his head. "I was actually late to the whole thing." Though considering how lax the school seemed with weapons and technology out in the open on campus he was surprised that there weren't accidents more frequently. Dealing with a few accidents a day every day would actually be some good training. Maybe he should try and set that up. Get the more accident prone students to do what they do best. Soon the young wall crawler was lost in thought.

He soon remembered where he was and noticed Vix waving at him. He smiled and waved back. This was already getting boring fast. He walked over to Mr. Lang and wrapped his arm around him like they were old pals. "No one got hurt. Well, no one except for James over there and he... you know. You must've asked them here for more than just asking what happened, right? Come on. Get to the good stuff."

Kal-El's reserved for the GM to progress the story through.

Oh okay. I'll come up with something else then.
Is Superman available or does someone already have him reserved? I was thinking of having him just recently come out into the world. Having felt the need to hide himself until now. He won't be a Kent and I probably won't make him a boy scout either.
Richard was late waking up. This always happened on his first day ever since the beginning of his second year. He had arrived the day before to unpack the things he brought back home and decided to get a good rest after staying out until two in the morning. Nothing good ever happens after two a.m. He was sleeping in his makeshift spider web hammock that rested above his own bed. He always wondered if he was weird for liking to rest in the thing every now and then. Besides his family no one even knew this about him.

He woke up to the sound of his alarm clock going off. "Ten... maybe thirty more minutes." His alarm clock on the other hand had other plans and kept blaring until he turned over and shot a web at it. Once attached he pulled the clock up to him and turned it off and jumped down onto the floor. His room looked like a miniature replica of his room back home. He had gotten used to the smaller space so it wasn't really a problem. He turned to his window to see the view he would normally see from his New York home. During his first year there he placed a holographic screen over the window so that he could wake up to the site every morning. "Window off." As he said that the screen faded and revealed the scenery outside of the dormitory.

Richard made his way to the bathroom and started his morning routine of showering, brushing his teeth, brushing his hair, and etc. This morning fortunately didn't have any sticky mishaps so that was a plus. Once all of that was said and done he put on his clothes which was just a regular black t-shirt with some jeans and an Avengers Academy jacket that he had customized. It was blue with a red A in the right corner of the jacket and on the jacket the word SPIDER was emblazoned in red a little above the center. To top it all off he had his necklace hanging around his neck.

Since he was already late for breakfast he decided to take the scenic route. He looked at his hammock and said, "I'll take you down later." and headed to his window. He opened it and climbed out and made sure to close it and lock it with webs. He didn't want to be the reason a villain was able to get into the dorms. He crawled up the wall and saw some familiar faces below that were looking at him. He waved and continued to head up until he reached the roof.

Once there he looked towards the cafeteria deciding to make a pit stop there before the cafeteria. Just at that moment the rocket situation was coming to its end and explosive shrapnel flew everywhere. He was sure everyone was okay. If not there was no real worry. The school was a school for heroes and geniuses so the medical advancements were well... advanced. Richie didn't hesitate in heading over and arrived once the drones did.

He listened to the drone that approached James and the others and heard the voice of their head instructor. Once he was finished he surprisingly made a gentle landing on top of its head in a crouched position and said, "I missed all the rocket fun. There's no way I'm missing this." He noticed some familiar faces and masks in the group and knew this was going to be interesting.
I'm going to update my relationships after my first IC post so if anyone wants to PM me about it they can.
@TalijaKey Yeah I could see that happening and being funny. I'm about to go to bed but you can PM me about it.
Name: Richard "Richie" Parker
Age: 17
Appearance:

Years in the Academy: 5
Ancestors: Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
Powers/Abilities:

Bio: Life for a rich boy with weird powers? Never easy. Richard's story begins when he was born about a year before New Hydra stepped on the scene. Instead of cutting off the serpent's head why doesn't anyone step on it with a giant shoe? Anyway. Richard was born to Ben "Benjy" Parker and his wife. He was named after his great grandfather. Ben didn't inherit his father's powers but his son did. If anyone asked he'd say that he didn't really want them to begin with. Richard's powers started to develop at the age of four. Even then they could tell that his powers were innately stronger than his grandfather's. Because of this they had a suspicion that he was also born a mutant with the added mutate from the radioactive spider bite passed down to him. They decided not to confirm their suspicions due to New Hydra's campaign against mutants. They felt it better to not know than to put him in even more jeopardy by finding out.

Time went on and Richard progressed further in his learning and in his powers. His development was exceeding what they had imagined for him. At age eleven he mastered the Way of the Spider and decided to crawl around the city testing his powers as a low level street vigilante named Agent Spider. He wasn't big on getting in the lime light quite yet. His first month was bad. Even with his training he had trouble and once his father found out what he was doing he asked Mayday to watch over Richard and have him as her sidekick. Working with his aunt made things easier for him but it also helped him learn a lot about what it was meant to be a hero. When he first started working alongside her he was given a necklace with a spider emblem. All he had to do was press the emblem and it formed into his costume. Way easier than hiding it in a backpack or under his clothes.

When he was twelve Tony Stark approached him with an offer to join his Academy for up and coming young heroes. Richard didn't hesitate at the offer. There wasn't much regular school could teach him and the thought of learning at the school Tony created was what really intrigued him. The things he could learn and create while studying there was his selling point. He joined the school and it didn't take long for him to become one of the best students there. Even if he didn't always show up to class. During the times school was out he went home to New York to websling with his aunt again and help her out. Each time he came back she always talked about how much he progressed since the last time.

This is now his second year in the Next Avengers program though he took a small leave of absence to help Miles train Ben Poole while also receiving training there himself. He didn't want to get rusty and let the Junior Captain think he was better than him. It didn't take long and he rejoined the school when Tony invited Ben to the school. Now the new year is starting and he's ready to web things into gear.

Family/Relationships?: Ben Poole: Richard helped train him while also training alongside him. They aren't really close but he considers him family due to the Spider legacy.
Weapons: N/A
Personality: Richard may be really smart but he isn't a nerd. Well, he doesn't consider himself one at least. When it comes to school and things that don't hold his interest he's really lazy and rushes through it so that he can get it over with. In regular Academy classes he's seen staring at the ceiling if he even decided to show up that day. He's a flirt but not overly so. In his time in the Academy he hasn't had any long term girlfriends and mostly had flings but he's hoping to change that. Richie jokes a lot an even gave himself the added nickname of Rich to Richie so others wouldn't make the joke first. Most of the time when he's joking is in action just like his grandfather though he does it to hide how unsure he is of himself. It's why he chose not to up the mantle of Spider-Man. At least not now at least. He's afraid he wouldn't be able to live up to the name. Though he knows one day it'll come a time where he has to. He cares about his friends and would do anything for them. Even to the point of putting himself in harm's way in training exercises. His father said that would get him killed one day but he reminded him that it was his great responsibility to protect others.
Other: Richard is in line to take over his family's company.
He has a secret love for comic books despite living the life of those in them. He wants to one day make his own. He hasn't told anyone this.

Here's my character. If anyone wants to work on a friendship with him I'm willing.
