Violet Black

Violet watched as more people showed up. For the most part, they all looked to be about as confused as she was. One girl seemed rather annoyed about being there, and another sounded like she knew the boy addressing them all. Violet was about to respond with her own name after the boy introduced himself as Aiden when he mentioned that he was the son of Kronos. She remembered hearing that name somewhere before, either from Johnathan or in one of her old textbooks. The girl didn't have much time to dwell on this, because she caught the word "Demigod" in what Aiden was saying, as well as "people like us". Again, she didn't get much of a chance to contemplate what he meant by that before he finished his exchange with the irritated girl and pulled a coin out of his pocket.

The purple haired girl's eyes widened as the coin slowed in mid air, and she found herself slowed as well, hardly able to move. When she blinked, it happened very slowly. Once the trick was over, she didn't know what to say. That was... real. Right? Johnathan had made her study philosophy for the past two years, so she had read a lot about reality and how people perceive it, but that honestly wasn't helping at all. She thought it had to have been real, since everyone just watched it happen. But to control time, wasn't that impossible? Aiden had said his father was the Titan of time, did that mean they were all children of a titan or something? The boy had also mentioned Olympus, which Violet remembered was the home of the Greek Gods, not titans. This was all quite confusing.

As she listened to Aiden talk about claiming and Godly Parentage, some of Violet's questions were answered, but she still didn't know if this was all real. The whole time control thing had been extremely convincing, but it was all so hard to believe. She noticed how fatigued Aiden looked after his trick, which meant that whatever he did had physically impacted him. She finally decided that this had to be real. The girl who had seemed so annoyed earlier looked to be skeptical about the whole thing. Another girl pointed out the dragon on the hill, as well as- Violet stopped mid-thought, staring at the serpent by the tree. That was a dragon. An actual, tangible dragon. As the girl continued to point out other things, they only further justified the whole situation. When Aiden mentioned a tour, Violet followed him along with the others, fascinated to learn more about this place, as well as about what she might be able to do.

When picturing a Greek God, a leopard-print Hawaiian shirt had not been part of the image. Violet looked at Dionysus as the group walked past, and was startled that she had understood part of what the so-called God had said. She had only taken a year of Latin in school, and yet could interpret what he had said. Maybe that was one of her powers? Or perhaps it was just something all children of gods, or as Aiden had said, Demigods, could do. When they moved on to the cabins, she enjoyed looking at the differences in how each one was set up. She tried to see if any of them caught her eye as possibly belonging to her. The girl looked towards the Hermes cabin when Aiden pointed it out. He was right, it did look very crowded. Other campers were lounging around, and she heard something shatter inside, followed by laughter. Just like in the orphanage she thought. That had been the worst part, having so many people in one place. She liked people, but sometimes they could be very loud and have no regard for personal space. Hearing Aiden's offer for a stay in his cabin, Violet held up her hand. "Hey, I'd like to stay there." Her voice was soft, almost velvety, and yet sound and confident. She noticed a few snow flakes fall, and smiled. Snow was nice. Walking with the group in the direction of the dining pavilion, she could smell the food in the distance, and realized how hungry she was.

Violet was tired. Traveling all of the way from Seattle to Long Island with her friend (who she now knew was called a Satyr) had been very draining. Two taxis, a short train ride, nearly a dozen buses, and walking. So much walking. On the bright side, it had been pleasant to see the sights during their journey. Violet still didn't understand a whole lot about what was happening or why she had listened to this kid and left her uncle and brother behind, but had decided to accept it, since the two had already crossed the entire country.

The girl had a few small cuts and scrapes on her arms from the many trips through various wooded areas that had been made throughout the trip. She was wearing a white t shirt that was surprisingly unstained from the long journey, as well as a light pair of jeans and hiking boots. As always she was wearing a cross necklace she'd gotten at the orphanage so many years ago. Even now, after traveling for over a week, she still gave off a mysterious sense of whimsical and natural beauty. She hadn't brought much with her, just a small messenger bag filled with a few changes of clothes, some belongings, and a handful of crumpled up dollar bills.

The long voyage had mostly been filled with a peaceful silence, with an occasional question that was often responded to with a "You'll find out soon enough." Now that she was almost to the camp, Violet was getting pretty anxious. The Greek Gods... they were real. If that was in fact true, then what the Satyr said about her being the daughter of a god must also be true, which would mean-

Violet's thoughts were interrupted when her guide said that they had arrived. Looking ahead at the hill before her, she noticed the tree standing tall on top of it. Camp Half-Blood. This was it. As the pair reached the top of the hill, the Satyr noticed the small group of kids waiting there and suggested that Violet should go talk to them, before heading off to do their own thing. Approaching the three, two girls and a boy, Violet gave a small wave and smiled softly. "Um, hello." She glanced around the group, noticing that the boy was wearing an eye patch and that the two girls both seemed a little lost. Maybe they were new too? "I just got here, is there anyone that I'm supposed to talk to so I can learn more about what this place is exactly and where I'm supposed to go?"

Blake shook the boy's hand, nodding. "Nice to meet you Cam." He was surprised to find that there were so many new kids arriving just as he was. He had figured that he would be the only one. Maybe that's how it always was, with campers arriving in groups? That was something he could always figure out later. Meanwhile, hearing Cam refer to them all using numbers was very amusing, and Blake smiled. As everyone started to follow the guard into camp, he introduced himself to the others with a grin. "I'm Blake. Blake Creed." By the sound of his voice, you would almost think that you were meeting him at the mall, or at a party, or in any normal, non-supernatural situation. He was relaxed, having already accepted that this was all actually happening and not questioning it.

He had dressed quite plainly for his journey to camp, wearing sneakers and a dark pair of jeans, along with a simple black jacket over an army green t-shirt. It seemed pretty shabby compared to the armor-clad guards that were standing around, although it didn't really bother him. After a moment of introductions, he turned to see someone greeting their small group, dressed in an interesting yet dapper alternative to the guards' armor. Hearing the words "Camp Jupiter" gave Blake a feeling of satisfaction. He had finally made it.
