Feburary 23, 2020:
The light pollution of Jump City prevented distant stars from being seen, only allowing the moon's reflected sunlight pass the atmosphere. Though for those still awake new lights could be seen. It seemed to be a furious battle high above in the skies, above the clouds, it's possible it could have been held in space. Many colors of almost unnoticeable lights flashed high above, first multiple splashes of green, along with faint streams of red occasionally, and finally a unmistakably clear yellow blur in the sky. Almost as if a satellite exploded, but multiple NASA and governments reported no loss of satellites. Those lucky enough to have a telescope or high powered binoculars on hand could swear that they had seen shapes, although most were simple in design, they never backed down from their statements. Ultimately this was dismissed by most as, drunkards, or another UFO hoax attempting to cash in on Superman's supposed origin. After all, surely the Justice League would handle it if it was important, right? Days later multiple pieces of metal crashed into the Earth near a Kansas farm, badly burned and jagged, as if they were ripped from something. Publicly they were revealed to be the remains of burned up asteroids, perhaps even remains from Superman's dead home planet. On that same day LexCorp launched another satellite into space, claiming that it was to jump start their new high speed internet. As if triggered by the launch crime rates in multiple cities rose, Gotham, Metropolis, Keystone, Central, and finally Star city. Though the rates were slow, seemingly under control by local authorities and vigilantes, it was unmistakable that the criminal underground was somehow given a boost in it's confidence.
March 5, 2020:
The skies above Jump city were cloudy, and grey, signifying an incoming rainstorm. Regardless of the weather, many people were present on the streets, either on the sidewalk or in their cars. The sounds of honking could be heard on various street corners, even sidewalks held everyday men and women conversing on phones or participating in their everyday activities. As the day passed the sky continued to cloud up, until the sun could no longer be seen. Soon enough the skies began to sprinkle a light blanket of rain over the city. Dozens of umbrellas and people rushing down sidewalks could be seen. During mid-day the clouds seemed to part in an almost perfect circle above the nearby ocean. However, instead of revealing the sun they had wished for, they instead viewed a massive alien vehicle. It descended slowly above the ocean, onlookers desperately looked to the skies for their saviors, or perhaps someone to explain. Instead multiple tiny objects could be seen escaping from the ship, as they drew closer to the city their form became more clearer, and their goals even more so. The figures were clearly some form of attack craft, they began to shoot bright beams from their underside as they hovered above civilians, seemingly drawing them inside. Some of the craft even opened up to unload gruesome creatures, they were humanoid, that much is for sure. But they were clearly aliens, their armor and weapons allowed them to completely deflect the local police's bullets, and return in kind with their own. As the alien weapons fired, a blue pulse sparked in front, and the bullets themselves seemed to glow a darkened blue.
ey b0ss, When's this IC post going up?
I plan for it to go up today, I'm already working on it, but expect it to be up by at least this weekend. Sorry for the extreme delay but I've been busy lately.
I would like you to add a certain something to the 'Other' section, but other than that you're accepted like Rin said.
I'm not to sure about the strength, 70 tons, and she can go higher? I want to accept her because overall it is a decent character app, I can't say its perfect since I can't make one, but I am hesitant on the power level on that.
As the actual GM I would like to apologize for not being here during all that drama. I would like to thank the admin, mod, our CO-GM Rin, and a few others for stepping up and helping to bring peace to this RP even if it hasn't started up. Thank you all. As for the RP. Now that I have some free time I will begin writing up the IC, expect it to come in at least around this weekend.
It's meant to pull him up to rooftops all day and night. I imagine it should be pretty strong. Besides birds or airborn animals usually have hollow bones to help them fly, that would mean their bones weight less than creatures their size would usually weight.
Upon hearing gun fire, normal gun fire, Talon turned his head to see the robber from before now unloading a clip into Casan's hide. "No!" Talon shouted as he tossed a four of his kunai at the gun and the hand holding it, intending to wound him forcing him to drop the gun, or disabling the weapon entirely. Then using his other hand he pulled out his grapple gun. Springing towards Casan Talon gripped the wounded hero as best as he could and tied the grapple around his body. Why is this guy so big? Talon asked himself. Then aiming his grapple gun he fired it onto a rooftop, lifting up the wounded hero, with Talon hitching a ride on his back. As they emerged on the rooftop Talon threw another smoke barrage into the air, hoping to keep the Lantern's sight off of them until Casan's friends could arrive. She obviously has light, but what good is that if there's smoke everywhere.
@KriticalKrab I was impressed by your IC post. It was really good, especially if that was your first ever advanced post! Keep it up, you can only get better.
Thanks, but I did have some help so it wasn't all me. Er, I guess now's the time to start on that part 2.
The surprise appearance of a dinosaur like animal startled Talon for a second after he realized it was most likely one of the other heroes of this town, the fact that it wasn't tearing the robber to pieces was evidence enough. "I had that under control." Talon muttered under his breath. Then all of a sudden a voice far in the air shouted a line from Scarface. Taking notice Talon took the chance to dive for cover behind a building. The explosion from the yellow lantern's rocket forced Talon to the ground, along with tossing up dirt around the area. As yellow bullets rained down on the area, mostly on the animal hero, Talon took notice that it was a yellow lantern attacking. "Call your friends!" Talon shouted as he tossed his smoke bomb high into the air, and at the lantern. "We can't take her like this!" Talon continued as he saw a net being formed over Casan.
Mind Over Might, Part 1
Californian Desert: "Hal please be careful this time. This F-22 Raven is supposed to be our 'big one'. I'd appreciate it a lot if you wouldn't crash this one." A woman spoke over a radio. "I'll try Carol, but It wasn't even my fault last time." Hal spoke, but he seemed to almost regret he even woke up as the planes instruments began to turn haywire. Dials began to spin completely 360, sparks sputtered from various buttons. "Hal what's going on up there? Our instruments have stopped receiving." Carol questioned, her voice seemed to carry some worry. "My instruments stopped too." Hal said, his face scrunched as he attempted to hit various buttons. "I'm going to try to save her-" Before he could continue one of the air crafts wings crashed into the side of a tall rock formation, signified by a loud metallic tearing sound. "Er, at least most of her." Hal continued, his plane was forced into an uncontrollable horizontal spin due to the loss of a wing. Yeah, I'm going to keep my word this time. Hal thought to himself as he momentarily activated his ring. A green glow quickly surrounded the jet, and moved it softly to the ground. Edwards Air Force Base, California: After a busy day of flying and crashing the most advanced planes on Earth, Hal felt it was finally time to come in for a landing himself. Along with an apology. Holding a bouquet of various flowers behind his back he briskly made his way to Carrol Ferris's office. Besides being the love of his life Carrol Ferris was Hal Jordan's boss. Hal felt nervous about this, this would be the first time he would approach her aside from a few flirty remarks over the airwaves. Hal audibly swallowed his spit, along with his nervousness, he raised his fist to knock on the wooden door; but a rapid flashing on his finger stopped him. "Oh right on time, I was just about to ask Carrol out for dinner." Hal mumbled to himself sarcastically. Making his way back to the locker room he glanced around to search for any uninvited eavesdroppers, with the area clear he raised his right hand in front of himself. A large, balding head appeared in front of him, the image itself was being projected from his ring into the air illuminating the nearby lockers. "Green Lantern of Sector 2814 are you receiving?" The floating head asked, though his tone of voice seemed to indicate he knew the answer. "Yeah, yeah what going on now Appa?" Hal asked, following up with a sigh. Appa Ali Apsa raised an eyebrow at his recruits obviously troubled mind, but it wasn't his job to analyze anybody's feelings. "You are needed in sector 2813 to stop an invading army." The image suddenly switched to a motionless mugshot of a grotesque, four eyed alien with a bony plate covering his head. "Reports indicate that Gh'rag has roused together a large amount of followers and has begun a civil war on his own home planet. The planet in question is Yaruba V. The reasoning for this war is unclear, but it seems that Gh'rag intends to establish his own dictatorship." "Sector 2813? If I remember correctly that's Tomar-Re's sector. Shouldn't he be the one responding?" "Lantern 2813 Tomar-Re is on special assignment from the Guardians and cannot respond, as the closest Lantern available It falls to you to respond." With that the head vanished in a digital puff of green light. Exiting the room, and making his way out of the building, Hal glanced around to his co-workers occasionally and waved to them, signifying the end of his work day. Walking behind one of the presently empty hangars he raised his right hand upwards. An energy wave poured down from his hand, leaving the standard Green Lantern Corps uniform over his brown pilot suit. With his uniform and mask now present Hal dashed off into the sky, unconsciously leaving a faint trail of green energy behind him. Space sector 2813, Yaruba System: Traveling into another sector left Hal a feeling of uneasiness, like he was biting off more than he could chew. But he cast those thoughts away as he went over the criminals profile once again. This guy probably doesn't have the same connections that he used to, chances are the best stuff he has are either projectiles or low level plasma weaponry. The system itself had a red sun, a total of six planets, and a ruined planetoid near the far end of the system behind the star. From orbit he could see far off explosions. Descending further down to the explosions he took note of the orange sky, and purple grass. All of which were becoming consumed by the explosions of various vehicles and weaponry. Have to save my inner tourist for later, for now I've got a war to stop. The battle was obviously at an end as a smaller group of tanks and fighters were moving away from the other. That must be my man, Gh'rag himself. Hal locked his eyes on a massive blood red box like vehicle pushing itself slowly behind the front line tanks and infantry. "Ring, patch me into all nearby channels and run the galactic translator." Hal requested as he began to form a neon green megaphone in front of his mouth. "Attention Gh'rag, I am a Green Lantern, and I am ordering you to cease and desist. If you do not I will be forced to take you down." Hal fully expected to be attacked by the warlords forces. Glancing to the side, it appeared his instincts were right as multiple 'V' shaped fighters turned around to face him. As they closed within range they began to shoot at him, Hal decided to return in kind. As the fighters closed in on him in order to begin their attack run he began to form a neon green F-16 fighter jet around himself. "Now, we can play!" Hal shouted as he began to 'fly' his new vehicle. Rushing straight at each other both sides began to launch their weapons, Hal with his green missiles, and the aliens with their yellow beams. A green missile exploded in front of the alien jets, blinding them, and causing them to lose control forcing them out of Hal's sight. However one of the yellow beams struck the nose of Hal's fighter, it pierced straight through, causing his eyes to widen as the beam passed between his feet. "What in the-" Hal was interrupted as his construct's wings were hit by another blast causing him to spin out, into the front of Gh'rag's land tank. His focus was completely non existent, causing his fighter to shatter like glass against the front of the massive vehicle, Hal himself landed on his head, his body bounced once before skidding along the roof. Before he blacked out he could hear a hissing of air before feeling hands grab him.
Orb weaver hissed in pain at the sudden pressure in his shoulder that resulted from the arm lock, though he was still quick to retort, "Considered that once. I just figured that if i'm gonna be a criminal I should at least be up front about it.". Orb weaver followed this up with three things; the first was a kick to the knee, the second a harder kick to the groin, and finally a headbutt, driving the back of his head hard into Talon's nose. Orb weaver took the opportunity presented by his attack to bend over, dropping his center of gravity and allowing him to rotate his hip in order to toss the hero over his shoulder. "I'm nothing if not a man of integrity." He said as he rotated his shoulder a bit to alleviate the stiffness.
The kick surprised Talon, earning Orb Weaver a grunt of paint from Talon, sensing another kick incoming he moved his other leg into a position to block. That would have hurt a lot more if that hit connected. But the combo had yet to cease as the robber flung his head into Talon's. The headbutt missed as Talon was far to small. Wow dear old dad would be so disappointed in me right now. As Orb threw Talon over his shoulder the boy twisted mid air to land on his legs, and in a similar motion preformed the same throw. Not expecting it to actually work, Talon sneaked his free hand into his harness and threw another of his kunai at Orb Weaver as the throw finished. "You're much better trained than I thought, that caught me off guard." Talon said with some annoyance in his voice, taking a small hop backwards he continued. "How about we both become casino dealers eh?" Talon asked rhetorically, this time preparing to throw a hidden smoke bomb.
