@Avanhelsing
Definitely a mixture of both. Although the fantasy is meant to be kind of hidden and hard to find, or in the case of the sea monsters hard to survive if they find you.

Yeah, I'm totally fine with you having a monkey friend if you want. I don't see any harm in it.
@bloonewb
Of course there's room. Not counting me and my Co-gm, you make three. And since you three might not want to all play the same type of character, I'm going to need multiple groups of three. Preferably.
@Compulsive86
Of course. Although we still need at least three people to start.
The Waves Hold Secrets

The Marulian Ocean, a grand expanse of water that extends to many foreign, unexplored lands with most of the waves not having been traversed themselves. They say that there are lost cities hidden under the crashing tides, buried treasure just waiting to be discovered, tremendous beasts that hunt the waters waiting for their next victim, and a pirate king that destroys all who are unlucky enough to meet him, and the lands beyond the waves are seen to be just as mysterious and dangerous. People from all over have gathered their supplies and funds to sail from their ports and across this ocean in hopes of finding greatness. Some seek adventure, others fame, of course there are those only in it for the money, and let's not forget about the ones who want all that and more and are willing to steal everything from the rest.

Explorers, they seek to discover these new lands and their islands. They hope to find every nook and cranny, every creature, every new thing there is to see.

Treasure Hunters, they seek buried treasure said to be hidden in these areas. They want to find the sunken cities and their great artifacts, or any rare finds that might be hidden here.

Head Hunters, they seek to slay any and all dangers in this new territory. Whether for righteous reasons or for the bounty, they hunt the beasts that roam the waters and the pirates that terrorize it.

Merchants, they seek money and not much else. They want to bring cheap, trade goods to these lands and give them to the natives for their rare, expensive goods that they do not know the value off.

Pirates, they seek to mooch off of everybody's work and tear them down. They destroy and ravage all those who sail the seas and hope to one day become powerful enough to join the pirate king's fleet or perhaps take his crown.

So, the idea is that you are all new sailors ready to explore the vast unknown that is the Marulian Ocean. Everybody will need to buddy up with at least two other characters so that you'll have enough people to kind of manage a ship. Each group will start with a small ship, with a single mast and sail, and one cannon on each side. As time goes on, you'll be allowed to upgrade your ship as you see fit. Make sure to have your character seem appealing to people who are on the same side as you. Don't want to be left crewless right?

Rules & Information:

-Communication: There is a reason this one is on top! If you have a problem with anything at any time in this RP than please feel encouraged to talk with my Co-GM or myself. Speak up, I am not a mind reader but I do want everyone to enjoy themselves as much as I can.
The first also leads into this one, if you are going to be gone for a few days than please notify again the Co-GM or myself. That way we can work in you being gone so everything doesn't come to a stand still. I do not expect everyone to be posting 24/7, after all this is supposed to be fun and entertaining, not pressuring. However, there's no fun with characters being away the whole time without notification if they're still interested in participating in this RP at all.

-If you have an idea, please share it! Speak your mind! I want everyone to be a part of this RP. The growing and the movement of it all.

-If you have read all my rules than put hail the king at the bottom of your profile

-You must post at least two paragraphs minimum (5-7 sentences per paragraph). More is always good.

-You can play a maximum of two characters unless permission has been granted by myself or Co-GM

-The king is a lie so write bow to the queen instead. Making sure not too many people skimmed. Be sure to read the rule under this one cause it is important and I will know straight away if you didn't read it.

-After an initial post, you most wait for two other people to post before you may post again. Sometimes conversations may force a post to have to be sooner but maybe not.

-Finally, Have fun! It's kind of the point isn't it?

Character Sheets

-Image: If picture is used for appearance.

-Name:
-Age:
-Gender: I don't care as long as you're not an attack helicopter or something like that.
-Appearance: Anything not clear in the image or your description if you didn't use one. If nothing else, put their height.
-Personality: Not required since it will certainly come out in the rp but if you feel like giving me a heads up then go ahead
-Backstory: I'd much prefer if you had one and if you want to keep it secret and just send it to me then go right on ahead, but it's not entirely necessary
-Classification: One of the things up above, Explorer, Merchant, Pirate, etc. Feel free to make one up too. People just need to know who is on their side and would be good to team up with.
-Specialization: What is your character's job on a ship. Scout, Cannoneer, Helmsman. Just no captains yet, I want everyone to start on equal footing.
-Other: Just in case something else is needed to be said.
Whoops, it appears I have dropped my barrel of interest all over this roleplay. Actually, it looks good. I think I'll leave it here.
@Cube I definitely see the idea of wrapping the weapons in flames. I'd like to do that if it won't detract from his main warrior aspect. Since he has a death wish, I thought it'd break character if he bothered with armor and wanted to go with more of the, just enough clothing to be modest, fantasy Viking look. Since he wasn't wearing armor anyway, I thought why not give him a little magic. Give him fire wrapped weapons and a little fire to keep that poorly dressed body warm.
@Cube

Is it possible for someone to have a minor skill in magic? Enough so that he could ignite his weapons with little care for his well being?

And if so, would it even be beneficial to have a flaming weapon against the Arachs with how high there defenses are?
@Cube

Yo, sorry I didn't get your notification until now. My deathwish dragonslayer is still a thing. I'll read through the wall of text and have a character up by tomorrow. I hope this gets off the ground.
@Thantos

Like the idea, I'm thinking of having someone with a tortured past who just wants to die but doesn't want to die being a cowardice nobody. So he joins the gallowblades in the hopes of slaying arachs until one finally brings him the thing he wants the most.

Woops, mentioned the wrong person. I'm sure Cube will see this anyways.
@Ithradine

Coolio. One question though, are dark elves able to use healing magic? I kind of like the idea of a pessimistic healer.
