It's updated, however I'm not sure if it's what you expected
THE BOOK OF SOUS

"It was a long trip, but we're finally here" You hear someone say, as you come to a slow and steady stop. Outside the window you're surrounded by light thick plains, and beyond those plains you see nothing but dense woodland for miles. "Alright! Everyone up! Separate yourselves and head to the exit single file! Just fill out your papers, and you'll be set!" You hear a tall man with light skinned man shout, covered in chain mail. He's armed with a small club, and upon his torso he is dawning an illustration of an open and awakened eye. "I said get up! Hurry outside, the chief of Varnelle is expecting your arrival. Musn't keep him waiting." He bangs against the wood of the inside, before exiting himself. You try to get up, but the long trip has left you weak kneed, and worse still the entire ship is at the will of the gently flowing river as it creaks up and down. You and the others, arms and ankles shackled move into the outside with the early dawn sun spreading it's early reaches onto everyone's face as well as your own. They move one by one inside a tent large enough for two standing men, and before you know it, it's your turn. A guard at the entrance of the tent unlocks your restraints, allowing them to fall before you. You step inside, given a pen and papers.

"Just fill them out, so we can begin."

Welcome to the Book of Sous! This is actually a D&D campaign that I decided to rework into freeform roleplay. Most of it still in tact, with the only things being omitted being stats and dice rolling. Instead you'll be using reputation, which like real life gets better as you make yourself known for being reliable. There's also basic money management, so basically you can't buy a house or a ship without the funds to do so.

You're in the land of Varnelle, a land that is riding on a coastline with many rivers, as well as wetlands. The highest point of the land is barely a mile above a sea level, and it's surrounded by a low mountain range to a path into Londyle, however it's dangerous to trek to without a carriage.

There is only one artifact and it's the Book of Sous. Little is known about the book, some say that it doesn't exist at all. Some say it's only a rumor which exists purely to pump adrenaline into adventurers who're curious about it's existence at all. But where is it? Is it real? What is contained within it's pages? Many who trek to find the mysterious text often does not come back, so maybe they have given up? Maybe you'll be the ones to find it?

The players are to be adventurers/former prisoners whose fate is to explore the world...or other things.

RACE

Any race will do. Since this isn't an rpg it's mostly for preference or aesthetics. There's little limitations here, as long as it's not too outlandish like a 100 foot dragon that is capable of destroying the world via endless cookie rain...you know that kind of thing.

RULES

Site rules obviously apply, keep it clean. But in terms of limitation rules? There isn't any. Just use common sense, like if you punch said cookie harbinger dragon, don't expect to get out unscathed. If you jump into a bottomless pit, expect to be in suspension falling for a very long time. With that being said, death is real. If you die you can be revived up to one time via Varnelle services. After this, that character is done.

SKILLS

What skills are you proficient in? Be sure to write what you're good in on the papers. Maybe you're good at sword fighting? Maybe you're good at alchemy? Write these down to define your character. I'll provide a list.

HISTORY

What was your character doing, and maybe why they might've got apprehended? Maybe they were just wondering nearby and got accused of crossing the border illegally? Maybe they got blamed? What happened?

Also quick ask, do I also place things like character sheets here? Anyone interested? Will answer questions.
@Blubaron45@YankeeMom@Meridian Anyone still around to do this? Sorry for dropping off the face of the earth.
@Meridian@YankeeMom@Blubaron45 Alright, I could post right now, but it seems I'm at a weird position where I'm afraid that it'll just be limited character interaction again. You know what I mean? I suppose I'm just having trouble with this...um...any suggestions as to where all our characters can meet up in thread?

I'm sorry, I'm currently at a loss.
I'm sorry, guys. Been busy. I'll try to post later today
CITI(pronounced city)

Civilized
Industrial
Technological
Institution

Remember, as it'll be coming up again soon. .3.
"Everything's different how? The city's been like this as long as I can remember." The sudden interaction made him jump up from his daze. He didn't expect an individual from a sea of other "individuals" to attempt a sort of conversation with him. It was off putting, to say the least due to it being so...unforeseen. Yet it was all the more welcome. It wasn't his escapism that relied on familiarity, but maybe it can be used as a substitute. Something to distract him from the loneliness that...being in an unknown environment brought, even if this experience with another person was fleeting, and the feeling would be finite.

He gazed emptily at his book for a few silent seconds, gathering his thoughts. He looked up to the stray person, trying his best to seem welcoming as opposed to repelling. Oh right...she asked a question. "Everything just...is...Oh. I suppose it just seems really different to me. The city, the people, how everything looks, sounds, smells. I'm...not from here. I'm from...beyond." Realizing how ambiguous his explanation was, he quickly edged out the alleyway and pointed to the general location of which he was from, which from the distance resembled more of a naked hillside, not even housing the place he called "home" with people, and daily experiences he would recognize.

"I'm from out there, you see? The city is not my native land, I'm from..." Hesitating, he tried his best to pull together words that would sound or seem familiar to this person who resided in this city, this person who lived a very different life than he had at this point. Vocabulary that he heard being thrown around beforehand came to mind, yet they all left a bitter taste in his mouth given their derogatory intentions. "I'm from what you would call the 'Outlands', one of those 'risters'." The Outlands were a term he heard coined to describe those who live outside the large cities where civilization flourishes. Those who live in the Outlands, are also referred to as risters. He grimaced with saying those words out loud, yet he felt that was the only way to get his point across.

"I feel indifferent about all that is going on. Not because I favor or disfavor a specific side, but rather because I want things to return to a normal standing."
Name: Daniel Norwake.

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Appearance: A male of fairly below averaged stature, one that is certainly not fit for any large standing roles among the pack, but he seems to prefer it this way...yet he does hope and is rather earnest that he does get a little bit bigger. Being 5'7 and weighing just over 120 lbs is not exactly ideal. He possesses short cut black hair, with despite his his below average height and weight, he is equipped with a decent stature and build. As a wolf, similarities of his human appearance do care over, as to most he is fairly small, but makes it for his less than average size and strength with notable agility, finesse, and speed. His shade of fur is a middle of the ground grey, with streaks of black here and there. Nothing special.

Personality: Someone that cares less for the disturbance between humans and werewolves, and as such will try his best to not be involved. He prefers to not get involved in any sort of conflict. Some would call his actions "weak" or maybe even say that he's "running away" from problems, refusing to face the day in stride. His philosophy however, is that problems need not to be escalated. Because of this, he feels remorse for both sides, the werewolves are being persecuted due to actions from a small few, and humans who will obviously face direct action from his current pack. The ordeal is too much for him, and unfortunately it seems that he'll be forced to get involve. All in all, he'll have be looking out for himself, within the safety of others during this ordeal.

History: Not much history to share as he was not personally affected by the transpiring events, or lived not much of a life before hand. The most notable parts of his life is more so the hole that he dug for himself during the events. As tensions began growing, Daniel seemed to...recede away from it all. Not really "going into a shell" but more so pulling away from the pack, and thus because of this, he quickly fell through the social ranks, being a low tier beta, to the lowest of the low: Omega...to the eyes of some. That is not really something he cares for at the moment, as far more important things shall come.

Rank within the Pack: Omega

Pups: N/A
