"Go check that execution platform, pirates from all over the place seems to have gathered there for some reason. And I swear Jack, if you send someone else to do this for you I'm going to have you demoted!". Jack could still hear ringing in his ears from Captain Mekka's haphazardly barked orders. He wandered around on the roof of a building surrounding the square, looking for any particularly suspicious looking pirates. Not for the sake of Mekka, oh no, Jack had other plans. He would pick out a strong crew here and join them! He had had enough of the strict military order of the Marines and was prepared to join the other team. He scanned the square lazily once more and noticed, of course, the three that were on the execution platform itself. Jack had heard the rumors, these three called all these pirates here, of all places. The only explanation Jack could put his finger on was an ushering in of a new age of Pirates. However since the disappearing of Monkey D. Luffy, the Marines have never been more in control or stronger. Nearly shaking with excitement Jack waited on...
Touche. Sorry if i didn't make that as joking as it was meant to be. It was meant to be nonsense so i'd have something to post. Hope i'm not to annoying >.<
It's quite alright, dont worry about it :) GENERAL NOTE: PLEASE NOTE: I changed my characters name from John to Jack to avoid confusion with our Johnathon.
<Snipped quote by BrodZ11711> A supposedly big name crew, associated with the former pirate king, announce their presence in Loguetown, the entrance to the Grand Line, an island that has a military base on it, and don't expect Marine intervention?
You can bet John is gonna be there ;)
Funny i thought this RP said casual not tryhard advanced XD. I don't think justification is really necassary for everything espcially in something like one piece. Can't we forgive a few plot holes here and there?
I don't think it's "tryhard advanced" to want to know where my character, who is currently a marine, is in relation to where the GM wants him to be... I think it's kind of hard for me to write otherwise... And yes inconsistencies can be overlooked, but let's be honest it'll be a more entertaining and satisfying RP if we at least keep it coherent :D
Name: Jack Heggar Nickname: "The Careless" Age: 24 Race: Human Height: 180 cm (around 6 ft) Weight: 90 kg (around 200 lbs) Pirate or Marine: Marine (For now) Appearance: Looks like a regular marine, no distinguishing features, however this will change over time. Rank: Lieutenant Personality: Jack is what one could describe as hyper-active, or perhaps reckless. Well, that or you could call him what most of his friends, and crew call him: Careless. He's not very detail oriented, and can easily miss small, yet important, things. He'll often say something out of place or rude and have no idea he had upset, let alone offended, someone. When it comes to his close friends, he's extremely protective, and perhaps is the only time you'll ever find Jack actually being a person that acts like they have responsibilities. Since Jack is so careless and lazy, he often finds some lower ranking marine to take any orders he might receive from his commanding officers. John has almost no temper, and is not easily agitated, and most of the time has a decently cool head. However he's not the sharpest piece of hay in the hay stack, and does almost nothing with his cool head. Instead he loafs about all day and pretty much accomplishes nothing. History: As a child Jack had always dreamed of being a pirate like the legendary pirate kings, Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Luffy, and left his small home island in East Blue when he was 13 in search of a great pirate crew to join. However, things didn't go exactly how he had planned. He soon found that his dream of what a "Pirate" was was shattered. Most of the pirate crews he approached about joining simply kicked him away, or laughed at him. He was even once told that he could join in the position of a toilet; bringing human 'mess' from the chambers to off the side of the ship. Of course Jack was eager for the position, however was merely kicked off the ship the same day he joined, nearly drowning before swimming back to shore. John decided he would put a break on joining a pirate crew when he was 15, when he had happened himself upon a Marine base. He told himself that he would just join long enough for him to eat his way back to full strength and then he would abandon the marines in search of a real pirate crew. However during his trainee days he made close friends with other trainees, friendship the likes of which Jack had never experienced before. So he stayed. He finished Marine Basic training when he was 16. Sea navigation and combat when he was 17, and became a low ranking sailor on the ship of Marine Captain Kris Ajir. Jack absolutely adored Captain Ajir, and made it his mission to be his right hand man. And thus Jack began to climb the ranks, passing off his duties quietly to his other low ranking marines and basically spending his life kissing Ajir's ass. At the age of 19 John was promoted to Seaman First Class, and was actually very close with Captain Ajir. So close, in fact, that he asked Ajir if he could give him special training. Ajir complied, as he saw a lot of potential in Jack; they spent the next 5 years training, and by present day, John was an extremely skilled man of combat. He was most recently just promoted to Lieutenant, and finally he would be able to be the right hand man of Kris Ajir! However, since Jack never learned the regulations of the marines he hadn't realized that he wouldn't be Ajir's lieutenant, he would actually be transferred away to be some other Captain's ship that actually needed a lieutenant spot filled. Jack was defeated. With a heavy sigh, he left his good friend Ajir, and departed to join Captain Darian Mekka's station in Loguetown, One of the most dangerous places in the world for marines. Upon meeting Mekka he knew he would despise him: he was strict, menacing, not at all warm or fuzzy, and a meticulous man of details (and upon Mekka meeting Jack, he knew he would despise Jack). Since the 3 months Jack had joined Captain Mekka, he had already had 7 accounts of insubordination, and had been caught at least once a day pawning off his duties. Jack, sensing that his days as a marine were coming to a close, has begun scouting small pirate crews in Loguetown for a nice fit. Jack is ready to resurrect his dream. Abilities: Strong close combat skills. His best weapon is probably his fists, though he has yet to choose a real weapon that defines himself. (The arsenal of a marine is quite bland) He's extremely agile and prides himself on his speed. He doesn't use his speed to be tactical however, Jack isn't capable of tactics. Instead his speed is used for instinctual dodging and reactions, sometimes winning one on one fist fights with raw instinct. Note: I will develop his fighting style over time, but for now he'll fight like a simple martial artist (of no relation to any style because I have no knowledge of any particular style). Techniques: Ye- Inventory: All that a marine has. His cool Marine hat. His cool marine vest. His cool marine pants... you get it.
Just so everyone is clear, the three people I mentioned in the opening post will be announcing that the quest for One-Piece is once again initiatted and that a group of marines are coming so they are testing you're worth. they'll tell you a meet location to those who survive, also, they're character profiles will be in the CHAR tab shorty with an image.
I'm confused, are you saying that the marines are coming for the soul purpose of testing the worth of the new wave of pirates? If so, should I change where my character is then? At the moment he's in Loguetown under the current Loguetown Marine captain.
Chris awoke to the sun greeting him through his window. Chris sat up in his bed and even through a slight hangover and lack of sleep, began his morning routine. His morning habits included noting the weather, a inventory check of his belongings, as well as boiling himself some water for the day. Since it was his first day back after his 'expedition' he marked down the new places he went as well as adding more plants, fungi and wildlife into his notebook. After his short morning movements, he grabbed the rodents he had hunted the day before and left his hut for the skinner. The skinner happily supplied Chris with some gold coins for the pelts, and Chris was left with a bucket of rodent meat. He was going to bring this to the butcher to sell but first he would leave some at Kiln's. After his usual short exchange with the elf butcher, he started to make his way home when the town bell rang. He was relatively close to the Circle already, and casually made his way over.
I'm here, just waiting for a PM reply and to see where everyone else is going with this
Chris watched as the Red Coat Leader trudged away into the darkness. Funnily enough that was perhaps the most pleasant encounter he had with the man yet. Usually the words of Jack Sullam stung a bit more, and was at least a couple sentences longer. Chris was even toying with the idea that he was warming up to him. Shrugging off the words of the mercenary leader he walked into the busy tavern. The singing and music was deafening. The stench of alcohol and smoke was nauseous. The taste of the air was stale. But the life. Chris loved all forms of life. The quiet, stirring life of the wilderness, the busybody everyday life in the larger cities, and even this, a rowdy crowd of almost every shape of people he had ever seen. He couldn't help but breathe in and enjoy the life, especially after his little encounter outside. Looking around the room he saw some of the notable people he knew here, namely the Governer-General, as well as the new arrival, Tristan. He was off in a corner but it was no matter to Chris. Chris didn't mind spending some time alone here, watching and soaking in the festivities. He found himself an empty stool at the bar and settled in. His feet ached as he lifted them off the floor. Ordering a pint from the bartender, he swung around and rested his elbows on the bar. Taking a sip of his mead, he watched on.
=Samuel's Tower=
One week: a new record. Chris Din's first time staying a full week out in the jungles of Kasum. He'd already landed here, on this new land for about 5 months now, and finally was he beginning to feel confident in his new surroundings; well, at least for now. Chris knew that sooner or later the weather would turn on them, and he would have to re-adapt to the forces of nature once again. The sun was setting now as he approached the outlying tower of the colony of New Bayhearth, Samuel's Tower. He saw a torch flicker as he approached. Chris waved at the scout atop the tower, and he waved back. "Glad to see you're fit and alive!" Shouted the scout. "This colony as well!" Chris shouted back. He thought he heard a chuckle as Chris strolled past the tower. He knew it was only a matter of time that the colony would need to expand. Finding resources, new places to settle, and pretty well anything useful for the colony from out in that thicket was his job here. On his back he carried a string of unnamed forest rodents. Their meat was stringy and bland, however it was the only fresh meat that they had. Otherwise, Chris carried a bow and arrow, a skinning knife, a machete, a torch, a small pack that contained his mobile shelter, his canteen, rations, rope, as well as oils for his torch. After a little while longer, Chris passed a patrolling Red Coat. "Well Chris, you've made it back from one of your adventures hum? Oh and more of those critters?", greeted the guard. "Indeed I have, Kiln. And yes, would you like one?", replied Chris with a smile on his face. "Drop one off at the wife's if you would please, of course we'll pay." Kiln waved and started to part ways when he turned around. "Ah yes, the harvest celebration is tonight! You should go! You've been here for five months already and I think you've gotten to know that damn jungle better than the people in this colony." "I'll try!" replied Chris without turning around, waving as he went. He was nearly at the town now, and he could see the torchlight outlining the buildings of New Bayhearth in the distance. Chris entered his small cabin that only he occupied. He set down his equipment in his trunk, and lit a fire and put on a kettle. After he had some hot water, he did what he could do clean himself up from his week in the wild. He put on his town garb and left for The Lost Minstrel. As he approached the tavern he could smell the alcohol, smoke, and he could feel the energy of the festivities. As much as he wanted to turn around and collapse in his bed, he marched on. As he approached the tavern he saw the leader of the Red Coats here walk out.
You could say . . . I didn't 'butcher' my application.
