Abarat is a thinker. A scientist and a wizard. He firmly upholds that extreme ethics and morals in either direction are heavily bias, and that only the perfect balance of ideals can allow the light to shine, purging the darkness from the galaxy.
History
Built in the golden age, Codex-12 fought in the wars against the first wave of the Darkness. In humanity's downfall, many exos were also wiped out. Those who survived were lucky to have their memories wiped by the surge of Darkness that caressed the Solar System. Codex-12 was no different from the many exo who were corrupted by the evil presences. All of who he was previous had been destroyed, all memory of name and action erased from his mind. Centuries later, he awoke to learn of his fate through the assistance of a Ghost, calling to him and ushering him into the Light.
Cyprian was the navigator of this lost machine's salvation. But even with Cyprian's assistance, the lost exo found the new world to be strange. Advancements in the study of the traveler, and the survival of humanity struck him as impossible. He even knew not of the Awoken who had mysteriously appeared during his slumber. It dawned on him that it was not the outside world that was strange and abhorrent, it was him. He had become a strange being to this world, even when touched by the Traveler's Light, he felt the Darkness looming, taunting him with the mysteries of his past. The lost exo took up a new name, a mantle to wear the mystery that surrounded him.
