"Wait," Geno began, slowing almost to a standstill as he spoke behind the group. "Are you saying that we are this supposed council?" His tone mutated from inquiry to complaint quickly, continuing before the Caretaker could respond. "Because if so, don't you think our memories would be a bit more important? Was it truly impossible to maintain the mental health of a small group like us, even at the expense of those still sleeping?"
He quickened his pace again, marching to the center of the group to address this towering idol more directly. "And if not, what are we doing here? Why us in particular? And why not everyone else here?" His arms threw themselves out wide, gesturing with clothed hands at the many pods of still sleeping people that surrounded them as they walked.
