Profile
Reese is a pale Rot-Touched, who might have once been a very handsome man, elf, or particularly malnourished orc. Whatever the case may be, any pontification on what he was would be irrelevant -- Reese is a pasty Rot-Touched, that much is clear even from a distance. To say that Reese is only pale would be an understatement. Before he was a Rot-Touched, he was perhaps even an albino, though his skin is now a papery lilac in direct light, and stark white everywhere else. In the dark, miasmic swamps he grew up in, this was hardly a problem. He has bone-white hair which is, for all the gruesome specifics of his biology that are readily visible, kept very well trimmed and maintained. Upon closer inspection, you would notice particular sections of Reese's anatomy, particularly open wounds, the seams of his lips, and any small cuts he might have, are kept clean by a loyal colony of maggots. Despite the unpleasant visual this presents, it does relieve him of the wet, rotting smell that accompanies most Rot-Touched.
Outside of his penchant for keeping his hair maintained, Reese doesn't have any particular fashion sense. His kind are kept out of any respectable city, so he has never seen the inside of a respectable store. Accordingly, his clothes are picked off of the ground and seem to have been chewed on by moths for decades. The only object he has carried to defend himself is a short hatchet, which has dulled considerably over the course of his walkabout.
Biography
Reese, like many Rot-Touched, is jaded by the years, and years, and years he has spent wandering the Badlands of Terra. He is a second generation Rot-Touched, who awoke in a toxic swamp, where the glowing seas flow into a tepid, irradiated marshland. Given that he is not old enough to have witnessed the First Fire, he is not quite as far-gone as his brethren, though there remains something distinctly inhumane about him that was not always there. A cold, self-serving aura. He is a man of very few words, partially due to the fact that he has nearly forgotten that he can use them. His coldness aside, Reese comes off as polite, or at least, aware of manners. He has great respect for the Rot-Touched code, and if his brevity and to-the-point manner of speaking is any indication, a great respect for time and the spoken word. He has taken many jobs over the years, and though he fancies himself a renaissance man, this pursuits have mostly followed the path of the Carpenter -- His experience includes helping a Gnome village mend their bridge, fixing the keep doors of a high king, and building a curio cabinet for a lovely Lizardman couple.
His odd jobs and contracts are all short-lived and far-between, however. The only constant friend and conversational partner Reese has had is Flickers the Moth, who has accompanied Reese on his travels for nearly a century. Flickers is accompanied by "The Fluttering Horde", a collection of several hundred smaller moths more obedient and less rambunctious than Flickers. Unlike the Fluttering Horde, Flickers communicates with his mind, a feat that Reese has never questioned. Flickers can speak to other moths on Reese's behalf -- Whether or not the latter two statements are true, or loneliness has made Reese paranoid and insane are up for debate. Regardless, Reese has benefited from this level of Control over Moths in the past.
