Saria looked over the poster, slowly making out the words. Reading is tough, as she has had a very small amount of practise, usually involving observation of someone reading outloud. The poster read:
HELPERS NEEDED If willing to escort me, ask for Kudelia at Highwayman's Head Tavern, located near the southern gate. Be prepared for a long and rough hike, and be willing to protect me from danger.
Saria grinned, showing off pointy teeth that everyone thinks means 'DANGER!' Moving out of the alley, she walked southwards in as unharmful a manner as she could, not wanting to scare anyone she passes.
Arriving at the tavern about 30 minutes later, Saria admired the artwork on the sign with the tavern's name. It wasn't particularly nice art, but Saria thought it was. A bit old looking, the building wasn't the best in the city, but Saria guessed that was the point of meeting here since the person who placed the posters wanted to escape the city safely.
Saria stepped inside, where there were three customers quietly munching on food and drink. Two of them, when they saw her, nervously payed and left. But the third, a girl, looked at Saria seemingly hopeful.
Saria approached the girl, and said in her quiet voice, "I'm looking for Kudelia. Are you her?"
Backstory: After taking a physical form, this Hallow gave herself a name. Exploring, she's looked at and waded in a shallow river, and observed some rabbits playing in a field. While investigating an abandoned campsite, she found clothes, and played around with the campfire's charcoal. But after exploring a town she discovered that other races are scared of her kind. A bit hurt by that, she is careful not to scare people and so mostly keeps out of towns and cities, at least until very recently. Getting into the Capitol was a bit demoralizing, as people were either really nervous around her or just ignored her. But after discovering a small poster on the side wall of a tavern, she was hopeful for a chance to be accepted by someone, anyone. Having an opportunity to be part of a group and escort someone sounded very appealing to her.
Appearance: Tall, pale, skinny, and modest - she wears old clothes she found discarded.
Personality: Typical Hallow personality: Innocent, kind, gentle. She is patient and very curious. Willing to do what she is told to do. Having experienced the world for 2 months, she knows to be cautious of certain things and ignore her curiosity at times. Also found out the hard way that bees don't like you eating their honey straight from the nest.
We should send more scouts in small groups, and they should use the undergrowth of the forest to help keep them hidden, while still able to look for the wasp nest. A suprise attack on the wasps would be the best way to go.
Perhaps on making the pool, the workers' sticky spit would help keep the water in?
Workers making the pool should be careful, as they would have to get wet in order to make a stream deep enough to allow small fish in. This project should only be done if we are fine with possible worker casualties due to drowning/getting washed away.
Intel on the wasp hive should be a priority, but caution and any info we can get from the bees about those wasps comes first.
Rachel sat in her alleyway closest to her old workplace. She painted on makeup in front of the lower car's shiney, reflective surface. A lot of this makeup she makes herself, the rest she steals.
Once done, she stands up and stretches, preparing for any running or fighting needed, as she is needing to cure her unusual boredom by messing with people. Late afternoon is the best time to leave her hideout. She knows that hiding is usually considered the coward's way, but this was the only way she had escaped capture.
Before she could leave, she heard something quietly flying overhead, towards the southeast of her. Ducking down, she throws a dark gray blanket over her, hoping the people in the carrier were too busy on other things to notice. She didn't have to worry about this previously, but the blanket she is under had fallen from the hooks above the cars and her sleeping and storage area.
"I really need to fix that," Rachel muttered to herself. No longer hearing anything, she stands up and raises the blanket to the hooks overhead, concentrating on getting the ripped holes to go on the hooks. This telekinesis used to seem like a curse to her, but now it is a source of fun and protection.
She then lifts the cars, going under, and carefully putting them down, not wanting to damage the anti-gravity tech hidden underneath. Putting her hood up, she leaves the alleyway, acting like a normal person.
Age:22 Gender:Female Appearance:5'3 with short blonde hair, usually wearing jean shorts, a blue v-neck, and a gray hoodie. Face changes a lot due to a skill in makeup. Para category/Threat level: Beta 3
Powers: Strong Telekinesis - Can control up to 10 small things or one thing her size with her mind. Even though this power takes much concentration depending on size and amount, she is very skilled and can lift anything her weight (107 lbs) or lower, and with a burst of energy can crush a car most of the way. She can even make weapons out of normaly safe objects, crushing them to a hard point and throwing it at a target. Her telekinesis also has a defensive property, in the form of a shield around her whole body. This sheild, like a physical sheild, does take damage, a bullet making a crack, two more shattering it. It also takes lots of focus to keep it up, so she can only move really light things while using it. Minor Atomikinesis - If something is flammable (anything from a can of gas to a peice of wood), she can make it explode. The more flammable it is, the bigger and more fire-filled the explosion will be. The less flammable, though, the more concentration and energy it takes to make it burst apart in flames.
Skills: Quiet - Can move silently. She always could as long as she wasn't stepping on anything noisy, but after the explosion she gained the ability to walk and run silently on anything. Except water. Accurate - Due to an interest in bows and throwing-knives pre-para, her aim is on-point when using telekinesis for ranged attacks. Almost perfect disguise - Because she used to be a makeup artist for a small movie studio, she can disguise herself to hide from those who hunt her. It takes a close look to recognize her.
Weaknesses: Needs sight - If she can't see for any reason, she can't use her kinesis powers. She also panicks a bit and freezes due to an old fear of becoming blind. Crazy - The Tower's explosion threw her emotions into chaos. One moment she may be laughing with you, the next she may want to rip your head off. She also kills random pedestrians when she loses control. Wanted - Because she sometimes kills at random, she is seen as a threat and is actively hunted.
Backstory:
After getting her senses back (mostly) after the explosion, she played around with her strange new abilities. Independent of the factions that arose, and fending for herself, she has made a couple hideouts in alleys that she blocked off from anyone who can't move a pile of cars. Anyone who comes too near gets pushed back if she sees them through the cars, cautious of anyone who might be a threat. Even though she could easily kill them, since an encounter with a flash bomb which hindered her powers for a few seconds too long, (which was carried by someone who looked like a normal person) she keeps people at a distance and uses disguises. Her hiding places are usually only for sleeping and stashing food; she's usually out causing trouble while in disguise. She hasn't been captured only because she was able to hide and disguise herself.
When she made her hideouts, she had first stolen some anti-gravity and thermal hiding tech. Finding cars with no one around was tough, but she did it. Adhering the anti-gravity boxes to the bottom of the cars, she brought them to a couple of alleyways with dead ends. Painting the cars and installing the thermal hiders took awhile, but it was worth it to Rachel.
As for before becoming a Para, she worked at a small movie studio as a makeup artist. She enjoyed that job, as it allowed her to be creative. She always loved watching movies, loved the realistic effects and everything that happens behind the scenes which people don't acknowledge as much. She used to wander the city around the studio and her appartment a lot, and has mostly stayed in that area even after her change.
She used to like painting, reading, using her bow and throwing knives. But now she messes with people. She causes trouble, tripping people, crushing property, scaring people with small explosions. Though these are bad enough, sometimes she loses control, and instead kills or traps people. When in control of her emotions, she usually hates killing, but mostly because it brings attention to her, and she doesn't want to get captured.
Rachel walks down the street, watching the cars zoom by. She has her hood up, helping her disguise. The cars' solar panels reflect the sky beautifully, but the sun was also reflected. Rachel looked away from the cars, not wanting to ruin her eyes. The memory of the bright flash and the resulting fail of her powers still haunted her.
Silently ducking into an alleyway, she watched from the shadows, bored. She wanted to mess with people, perhaps make trash cans spill their contents on people and the cars. Yeah, that would be fun. As she was deciding what to do to cure her boredom, she saw a cop walk out of the donut shop across the street with a donut box. Curious, she shielded her eyes from the cars' brightness and watched. Maybe something simple first, then make trash-falls. Looking around, she saw a gross wrapper further in the alley. Ripping off a piece, she carefully sent it over to the cop, making it hover behind him. When he opened the box and took out a donut, Rachel quickly placed the piece of wrapper on the donut. When he bit into it, a confused look came over his face. Spitting out the bite, he looked down at the soggy paper mixed in with the chewed bits of the donut. He angrily threw the rest of the donut on the ground, and stomped into the shop and gestured with the rest of the box. As the door slowly closed, Rachel could her him yell, "I warned you, NO MORE MISTAKES, YOU STUPID - " Rachel couldn't hear the rest, as the door closed. She giggled. Now, time for some fun...
She didn't know how or why it happened again, but it did. One minute she was giving people a suprise with piles of goopy trash landing on them and their cars, the next she angrily started snapping people's necks. It was a short burst of anger, luckily, so she ran as soon as she could, dodging shots from stun bullets, using her shield when needed. Running through alleys, around cars, silently gaining speed. Turning a corner, she looked back and saw she lost the cops that were chasing her. Running faster, almost tripping, she threw herself into one of two deadend alleys she made into her safe spots. Running towards the cars roughly disguised as the walls, she moved them up slightly and dove through, placing them back as quietly as possible. Peeking through a small gap, she watched as most of the cops ran past, but a few stopped and looked around. She covered her mouth, quieting her heavy breathing. They walked away, looking around. Rachel had made sure that her hideouts were almost impossible to see, unless you knew what to look for. Her painting skill as a normal human really came in handy. The thermal hiding tech she stole is also useful, and the anti-gravity boxes are what make her able to lift the cars. She walked to the back wall and grabbed some chips. That run was exhausting.
I am a 17 year old female named Logan. Yes, that name is unisex. I am a homeschooled Christian who loves animals (I have a cat and a rabbit, but there are many other pets living in this house.). Favorite color is blue, I like supernatural, horror, certain types of scifi, apocalyptic/post apocalyptic, fantasy... I guess a shorter list is what I don't like; romance and anime.
I plan on opening a completely allergy-free bakery one day, as there doesn't seem to be enough of those, and, being deathly allergic to eggs, I understand how important it is to not cross-contaminate. I may also someday have a gaming channel on YouTube. And I'm currently writing a book. And I give myself short deadlines to finish a whole year of school. Lots of stuff to do. I also plan on homeschooling any future kids I have. I really don't know how I'll be able to manage all of this, lol.
I like chocolate.
