If you're looking for weapons and arms, you look no further than the Iron Man and Stark Industries. The Stark family business has been putting iron in the hands of hardworking Americans before the ink dried on the Second Amendment. Now facing an unprecedented crisis in the form of persons of mass destruction, Stark Industries wants to put peace of mind back on the menu and keep the citizens of not only the United States but the world safe.

Enter Project War Machine.

Despite the intimidating name, Project War Machine seeks to put the fighting power back in the hands of honest, hard-working Americans. Pairing a predictive algorithm Artificial Intelligence with a skilled pilot, Project War Machine places this dynamic duo inside a personal aviation suit, giving even the most ordinary man a fighting chance against the rising tide that is the 'metahuman'.

Designed by the Iron Man, the Da Vinci of Death, none other than Tony Stark, Project War Machine looks to be the future of personal protection. Despite his superior dominance on the market, Stark is in an arms race against Boliver Trask's Sentinel Program and Prof. Anthony Ivo's A.M.A.Z.O. To assert his claim for the military contract, Stark has invited the Council of Defense to his testing facilities to witness a little competition between both military and civilian pilots as they put the 'War Machines' through their paces.

"In the past we put our trust in a man and his serum. But the manufacturing time, the human factor, it's too variable. The future," Tony paused, the curtain behind him drawing away, "The future is Warmachine. Project Warmachine puts the power back in the hands of the people you trust, imagine one of these,"

Tony gestured towards the row of heavily armoured humanoids behind him. Each decorated for a different branch of the military, several done up in the colours of civil services. Each equipped with specialized arms and tools. Save for one in the center, coloured in a garish red and gold. That was the mascot, done up in Stark's own personal colours.

Beside Tony on stage was his beautiful personal assistant whom many considered the only reason Stark Industries stayed afloat after the death of Howard Stark, Virginia 'Pepper' Potts. A large man walked onto the stage, applauding Tony while inciting the crowd to follow as Obediah Stane and his own assistant, Justin Hammer, joined their colleagues.

"And that's not all folks," Stane yelled over the applause, "We're going to be holding a test flight, and we're going to make it fun," He smiled, "I've called my friends over at Ferris Air and they've lent me their best test pilot while Tony is backing his personal friend, Captain Rhodes of the U.S. Air Force. Both of these men, along with some of their colleagues will be the first to try out Stark's War Machines in a series of tests and challenges designed to put both the pilots and the suits through a series of arduous tests. From this boot camp, I'll get the join of crowning my pilot 'Top Gun' and Stark Industries gets the benefit of putting together a comprehensive training manual to put the War Machine into the hands of your public servants."

"Cocky about that victory, big guy," Tony interjected, "I don't think Rhodey is about to let a civilian 'test' pilot with more crashes on his resume than years of experience beat him."

"Then may the best pilot win," Stane replied, shaking Tony's hand, behind them, the suits suddenly flew into the air, their remote operators guiding them out over the crowd before the congregants erupted into excited cheers.

Pacific Royal Collegiate & University is a roleplay set in an alternate history where an unprecedented coronal mass ejection led to a global blackout in 1967 that resulted in a fraction of the population developing extranormal abilities. This roleplay focuses on a group of these 'Hyperhumans' and their adventures at the titular school.

It's finally the start of senior year.

You will be playing a student who has returned to Pacific Royal Collegiate & University to complete their final year of post-secondary education before departing from the school and heading out into the world. Whether you've been at P.R.C.U. for eight years, or only one, you've finally reached the beginning of the end; your final year before graduating and entering the world to make a difference. Through your time at P.R.C.U., you've been taught, trained and prepared for life as a Hyperhuman away from the safety of the island school. As a student of Pacific Royal Collegiate & University, you have been assigned to a team with which you have spent the last couple of years alongside. Additionally, you also belong to one of the school's eight houses where your assigned dorm lies along with the friends within. Along with a group of other students, you make up the latest iteration of Team 21 - Blackjack, one of P.R.C.U.'s most infamous intramural teams.

The only thing standing between you and your future is one final year of school. Two semesters consisting of classes, intramurals and other course competitions with the world's only other Hyperhuman Institution; the Alexandria Foundation. But rest assured, everything will run smoothly, just as described in the brochure. No doubt just like every other year had previously, it's not like P.R.C.U. has dealt with Hyperhuman Terrorists, killer bees, zombies or any other manner of weird or odd before.

Nothing unexpected ever happens at P.R.C.U.

The roleplay has thus far been moving along at a strong and steady rate, accomplishing over 200 posts in four months. However, we've lost some people along the way.

We're looking for one to three new players to join our existing roleplay. A character template is provided in the Character Tab of the game's thread. Applicants would be expected to familiarize themselves with the essential lore of the world and the overall IC thread thus far to integrate themselves with the game. New characters should bring something unique to the cast so as not to overlap with existing dynamics and abilities.

Prospective players are welcome to join the Discord to feel out the vibe and workshop their ideas with players directly, along with testing their personal compatibility. We have a very active and social group, so if that's not really you, you're probably not going to fit in here. Applications will first and foremost be decided by the GMs, however as introducing new players also affects the group as a whole, player perspective will be weighed accordingly.

What we can promise you out of the effort is an RP with an active cast and a proven track record of over two hundred posts in four short months. Our roleplay is built on the back of a GM-created lore doc which is constantly evolving with new ideas that expand the world. You would be joining a roleplay that holds players accountable and keeps track of activity and engagement while also ensuring everyone gets a turn in the limelight.

I understand it's a steep ask, but if you're a player who wants to put in the work then you'll be a great fit for P.R.C.U.

Still reeling from a Hyperhuman Terrorist Cell several years ago, the Bureau of Hyperhuman Equality, Logistis and Protection is attempting to pick up the pieces of its shattered reputation and rebuild for the future. An asset of the Bureau, the Pacific Royal Collegiate & University was supposed to be a safe haven for all Hyperhumans; where they could train their abilities all while chasing a quality education. Unfortunately, the school was ultimately caught in the crossfire between H.E.L.P. and the Hyperhuman Terrorist known as Hyperion. Hyperion was ultimately revealed to be masquerading as a faculty member at P.R.C.U. leading to a mass exodus from the school in the aftermath.

Due to this, P.R.C.U. has been left in a position where it is vulnerable to potential acquisition by the rival Alexandria Foundation. In addition to this, the rest of the non-Hyperhuman population has yet to forgive and forget, seeing a direct correlation between Hyperion and the school due to the identity of Hyperion being the form director of H.E.L.P. This has led to public tensions between powered and non-powered individuals not seen in nearly fifty years. Between a low enrollment and an ongoing audit being conducted by the Foundation, life at P.R.C.U. might be a little different this year, but that won't stop the former Faculty Advisor and recently appointed Chancellor of Pacific Royal; Jim O'Neil, from making Team 21's final year one to remember.

^{I S T H I S A N O R I G I N A L U N I V E R S E?}
This RP is based in what I like to call the 'Hyperverse'. It is a soft reboot and adaption of my previous original universes of Vigilance and the Mavericksverse. The biggest difference is the complete erasure of the heroes known as the Mavericks. This is due to the fact I only can claim the rights to one of the characters. In terms of differences from Vigilance, there have been several changes made to Hyperhumans, most notably the redefining of their abilities and limitations, an isolated power source, and a shared weakness. Any and all information relating to the 'Hyperverse' can be found in the linked Google Document.

^{D O R E A L W O R L D L O C A T I O N S E X I S T?}
Simply yes, while Pacific Royal Collegiate & University itself is a fictitious institution, it is still set on the very real Dundas Island off the coast of British Columbia and the country known as Canada. Real-world cities such as New York, and San Francisco, all exist with no changes outside of the Hyperhuman population and minor technological advancements made in the lore.

I envision this RP as more of a parallel universe. I'll be cherry picking events and plot points from that RP as I see fit and pending the submitted characters and their players' desires. However, I also want to move forward with a fresh slate and plot that are completely separate from the previous plot surrounding Hyperion but spring boarding on some of the aftermath from this RP's version of that plot's conclusion.

As mentioned above, I see this RP as a way to have a bit of a clean slate. Thus, my desire is to have a mix of both new and old players to give the RP some fresh twists. If the RP was only going to be returning players then I would simply do a continuation. That is not this RP's priority or main intention.

^{D O I H A V E T O R E - A P P L Y I F I ' M U S I N G M Y C H A R A C T E R F R O M T H E P R E V I O U S R P?}
Simply yes. You may bring in your original character, however as 'Commencement' is not intended to be a direct sequel, nor directly connected to the 'Future Agents of H.I.T.', characters who appeared in the latter are subject to re-evaluation for this roleplay. This is to make Commencement welcoming to new and returning players so that everyone has an equal opportunity during the application process.

Yes, in fact, that would be preferable to adapting a character originally conceived for another RP. However, there is no penalty for re-using a character and it won't slow or affect your acceptance. As stated above, I've put a lot of work into crafting this universe and would prefer concepts built specifically conceived for this roleplay.

^{H O W M A N Y P L A Y E R S W I L L T H E R E B E?}
The aim is to gather between seven to eleven reliable players plus myself who will make up the returning students. If need be we can run the RP with as few as three. New players can be added down the road if our numbers dwindle and cause the RP to cease moving. If however, we keep a full roster or a consistent pace, there will be no need to recruit and no new acceptances will be made.

^{W I L L Y O U E X P A N D T H E R O S T E R W I T H O U T N O T I C E?}
No. The RP will stay limited to the original number of players. Recruitment will only be made if there is an agreed upon need by both players and the GM and if the plot makes sense for new characters to appear.

^{C A N I H A V E M U L T I P L E C L A S S I F I C A T I O N S?}
Hyperhumans are only ever one Primary Classification, with one Secondary Classification. This means any abilities that your character has must be justified under the single secondary classification. Characters may not have more than one Primary or Secondary Classification. This system was developed intentionally to move characters away from being a 'Superman' and more in line with Marvel's 'X-Men'.

^{C A N I U S E M A G I C?}
Characters in this RP are required to be Hyperhumans only. That said, no you are not able to use magic or gain your abilities from any other source. This means you can not be a vampire, werewolf, alien or demi-god.

^{C A N I H A V E M O R E T H A N O N E C H A R A C T E R S?}
You may only have one primary character in this RP, however, you are encouraged to develop a cast of secondary characters to interact with and challenge your character. It is more than welcome for each character to come from within different courses, programs and school teams. In the event that your character has died in the IC, you may create a replacement player provided you weren't removed from the RP for any of the reasons specified under the rules.

^{C A N M Y C H A R A C T E R B E B A D / E V I L?}
Your character should struggle with morality, after all, suddenly being gifted with powers above those of mere mortals could lead to some overwhelming temptation whether to get revenge or use them for self-gain. But that said, your character should not spiral out of control, or at least the group should step in before then. The overall idea is that our characters do become forces for good in the end. Keeping in mind the setting and organizations involved, were your character considered to be a threat to society, they'd be arrested by H.E.L.P.

^{C A N M Y S E C O N D A R Y C H A R A C T E R S B E B A D / E V I L?}
You are free to do as you wish with secondary characters. If you wish to mould them into an antagonist for the group you are encouraged to consult me and we can collaborate on how to make that happen. There will be opportunities for characters to shift alliances and become more antagonistic as the plot unfolds.

^{W H A T W I L L T H E P L O T B E L I K E?}
The plot will follow a new group of students who have recently arrived at Pacific Royal Collegiate & University. The RP will follow the typical 'super school' formula, using a balance of slice-of-life, school and superpower tropes while also building to a larger overarching plot. In this plot, characters and players will have a chance to uncover secrets that could shake the institution to its core. There will be moments of surprise, and betrayal. Ultimately the group will be given the chance to take to the field and test their mettle.

^{C A N M Y C H A R A C T E R D I E?}
Simply put yes. There will be moments in the RP where character death is entirely possible and I would like to treat these moments in as real of a manner as I can. Treat your character as vulnerable, and think through actions. If your character is vulnerable to gunfire and incites someone to open fire, they will be shot. Going into this RP you should know that in the event one of these situations arises, I will not ask if I can kill your character, I will simply do it. Abandoned characters will often be turned into cannon fodder.

^{I F M Y C H A R A C T E R D I E S, A M I O U T O F T H E R P?}
Absolutely not unless you had abandoned your character. An abandoned character means you've likely dropped the RP, or missed your posting deadline thus meaning you're out. If your character died by circumstance you are free to either make a new character or promote a member of your secondary cast to a primary role and continue as part of the RP. I also understand bowing out after the death of your character though.

As the water level continued to rise, the already sinking structure groaned under the increased weight. The springs that filled the pond in the Quadrangle’s courtyard continued to flood the abandoned sub-basement, filling it with ice-cold, fresh water. Fractures appeared along the ceiling and the walls, chunks of concrete splashing into the water as it fell away from the rebar supporting it.

Girders shifted and walls began to crumble, collapsing entire corridors and limiting the path the Team was able to take. In the main lab, sparks began to arc through the air, the rising water level threatening to short circuit the now defunct teleportation pad. Even inoperable, the device was still coursing with higher than normal voltages that would no doubt end the lives of any who came in contact with it.

A block of concrete plummeted from the ceiling, landing on the body in front of Rory, covering the twisted grin of Daedalus’ former host before Haven’s nearby body was stirred by the frigid water brushing her wingtips. Another arc of electricity illuminated the room like a strobe light as the basement’s lighting flickered rapidly while power lines were strained.

Suddenly the entire structure shook.

The soft ground beneath the sub-basement sank, the entire abandoned structure sloping to the side. The force of the flooding waters pushed it deeper beneath the campus as metal protested before letting go with a deafening snap. Waves washed over Rory and suddenly Haven’s gurney was rushing towards him, heading towards the deeper water.

Another blinding flash of light erupted from behind the athlete as he sat locked in shock, his muscles frozen. Time was running out and those inside had better hurried lest they find themselves in a watery grave, buried beneath the falling rubble or electrocuted.
