"Starbucks on a rooftop... yes, yes that sounds nice," Myrtle agreed dreamily, smiling. "Oh! Let me get my things first," Myrtle said, suddenly remembering her belongings. She dashed over to the bushes, grabbing her bag with her civilian clothes and tucking it under her arm.
Kotov motioned her to follow, and Myrtle was quickly back at his side. They walked a little together and he stood by a circuitry box, and as she approached he had a sort of mischievous grin. "You sure you want to come with someone you just met, eeeh?" he teased.
For a moment, Myrtle froze and her eyes went wide, pupils dilating. She clenched her fists around the strap of her messenger bag, looking down at the ground. He was right--it was the stupid and reckless thing to do. Her dad would kill her if he found out. But when Myrtle looked back at his charming blue eyes and his smile, her heart fluttered. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and nodded.
"I owe my life to you...the least I can do is give you a chance," she decided, smiling shyly and offering her hand.
@The Man EmperorI've been back and forth between making her as young as 16 and old as 28 (my real age) and everything in between. Could always change it again. =P
@Eviledd1984 You don't need to make your two characters interact. In fact, I think this could be a great opportunity for Wrecking-Ball @The Ghost Note to make her entrance at the Art Museum! Maybe Kali @CryptDemon could happen to be there, checking out an exhibit at the Currier Museum after her shift. Onslaught @King Cosmos could potentially be trying a heist at the same time, whether also at the museum or elsewhere in the city.
As for Templar, well, think about why a unique character such as himself would be in an up and coming city such as Manchester. Was he following somebody in particular? Does he have some kind of attachment to the city? Or is he just passing through? Does he pursue people other than 'demons' such as 'heretics' or 'sinners'?
I saw you had him looking in a dark, crime-ridden abandoned apartment. What was he looking for? Did he suspect or know that a case 53 lives there? Or is he looking for information from its residents perhaps?
Myrtle's eyes sparkled at the sight of a card with Shockwire's symbol on it. She nodded, smiling like a doofus, unable to find her words. She was standing with the son of one of her idols--and she was saved by him! He went on, introducing himself as Kotov-codename Blizkrieg. Myrtle could hardly believe his words, how honest and kind and open he was with her.
"My.. my name is Myrtle Gardner," she gushed in her excitement. "I mean...Wallflower. Stupid names, both, of them, I know..." she babbled, her face turning even pinker than before. She mentally kicked herself for her rookie mistake. deciding to add 'cute guys' to her list of weaknesses.
"I-I really could use help with the whole hero thing, though. If you don't mind," Myrtle put her hands together in front of her chest, subconsciously, pleading. "It would be amazing to have somebody to talk capes with. Umm.. What did you have in mind?"
@The Man Emperor Myrtle is awkward around guys-- especially cute ones! =) It doesn't necessarily mean she has any desire to pursue a relationship. She is just used none or negative attention.
Just want to add an FYI, though: Enbringers won't just be prancing around town, nor would most Case 53 parahumans. Enbringers are massive creatures, that alternate between destroying entire cities and periods of slumber. We most likely won't encounter them until much later on, when we have more RPers. Case 53s are people who were taken by Cauldron on the verge of death, and forcibly given untested Vials. These vials had a very high death rate, but granted powers in those who survived. And most of who survived, also usually suffered from mild to severe deformities. They also suffer from amnesia, as their memories were erased in all or part by Cauldron. For example, they may have unusual colored or textured skin, tails, feathers, or have an inorganic body. At the moment, we do not have any characters that fall into this category, but you may sparingly create disposable Case 53 characters for Templar to advance his storyline. While not required, I strongly encourage you to read the original work by Wildbow available here. It is one of my all-time favorite reads. =)

"Sometimes I wonder if I had been born during the Renaissance, maybe then I would be considered beautiful." ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
▼ PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Mary is not considered very attractive by modern standards due to her somewhat large, upturned nose, sunken bulgy eyes, toothy English smile, and small mouth. Some of her better features are her hair and eyes. Her eyes are hazel, but often appear to change color depending on her environment, varying from green to blue to yellow to brown. Her hair blond, thin but wavy, that glows strawberry gold in the light. Her face and body is speckled with dark freckles that contrast her pale skin. The girl has a mature chest and slightly broad shoulders for a female. Her muscles are just slightly developed from cardio activities, leading to toned, but not overly muscular arms and belly, with a line down to her belly button visible. Her hands and feet are bony and her skin somewhat translucent and prone to bruising and discoloration.
▼ ATTIRE:
Her fashion sense is best described as Bohemian, hippie, or flower child. She prefers to go natural, without make-up, and her hair unstyled. She enjoys light, airy clothing that can flow in the wind and appreciates textures such as lace and knit. Clothing is usually covered in beautiful patterns and many colors or pure white. She usually accents her hair with flowers, chains, or headbands. Stone and bead jewelry is often found around her neck, wrists, and ankles.

"Some may say I’m weak... But deep down, I know I’m strong." ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
▼ PERSONALITY:
To strangers, Mary may seem cold or distant. She rarely smiles and usually appears somewhat sad or lonely. She avoids eye contact, and when looking toward someone, it often appears that she is looking through or past them with a vacant or dreamy expression.
She keeps to herself and only speaks slowly, softly, cautiously when spoken to, speaking a few words when she does or responds with sounds. She is shy, introverted, and avoids socialization and especially confrontation. In most cases, she would just agree or do what is asked of her, keeping her head down.
Due to her childhood bullying, Mary developed social anxiety and stage fright. When near other people, she often freezes, stutters, or stammers when trying to speak. She also becomes more clumsy, causing her to trip, fall, or drop things she’s holding. She shys away from physical contact and signs of affection. But when she is actually able to bring herself to communicate, she is friendly and kind no matter how others treat her.
Making friends can be very difficult for Mary. She is unusually suspicious and distrustful of others, often questioning their actions and worrying about being talked about behind her back. She tends to click with people more like herself (broken, introverted), but will allow herself to be dragged around by more extroverted types, provided they are kind enough.
Closer friends get to see more sides of her. The more she gets to know or is exposed to someone, the more likely Mary will open up to them. When speaking about something she is deeply passionate about--such as the wellbeing of plants and animals and protecting the earth and its inhabitants--her eyes twinkle and she speaks louder and higher pitched than normal, sounding almost childish at times. She may even smile, her little closed-mouth smile. The happier she is, the pinker her cheeks and face become.
While Mary deeply cares about people as a species, she has difficulty forming bonds with others. The girl sometimes has trouble understanding body language and cues. While she easily cries while watching sad movies, a real-life death or separation may not seem to affect her at all. That does not mean she doesn’t care, however. She can feel emotion as deeply as anyone, even if she has trouble showing it.
But none of that applies when it comes down to her ultimate weakness: cute, nice guys. Not just cute. Not just nice. But the perfect combination of the two. When Mary is attracted, all reason goes out the window. She gets giddy, excited, impulsive. She becomes naive and trusting to a dangerous degree, enough to get herself killed.
▼ SKILLS/TALENTS:
Academics: Her limited social life has allowed her to focus more on studying. While she is not academically talented, she puts a lot of time and hard work in to make up for it. Hobbies: Mary enjoys art in many forms, reading, gardening, swimming, and hiking.

"I’ve seen how bad life can be. I want to show others how good it can be." ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
▼ BACKSTORY:
Mary grew up in a rural town of New Hampshire. Her parents divorced early on and she and her sister were shuffled between them. Her father was a stern, heartbroken man who pushed her to exceed academically and had trouble showing love. Her mother was a drunk who stayed with an abusive alcoholic boyfriend. She feared for her life when she was with her mother, and suffered from loneliness and insecurity when she was with her father. Her sister never seemed to be around, and when she was, she saw Mary as an embarrassment.
School was no better. She was often targeted by bullies due to her meekness and less than desirable looks and poverty. While teachers regarded her as the perfect student, they never stood up for her. Bullies called her ugly, weak, stupid, brown-noser, and often shoved or ordered her around. If people weren’t bullying her, she was left to her lonesome. If groups were required, she was always picked last or forced to do all or at least the majority of the work. Mary would just keep her head down and do as she was told, not wanting to start anything.
Finding no sanctuary at home or school, Mary would retreat to nature. When she was young she would hide in the woods, spending her time climbing trees and searching for little bugs, or feeding animals food stolen from home. As she got older, she would slip away with a book, music, or sketch pad, or go exploring.
It was on one of these explorations that she discovered a delta crystal in a small crater. At first, she thought it was a meteorite. Wanting to add it to her collection, she reached down for it and a strange power surged through her, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious.
It was hours later that she came to, woken by a strange new sense of danger. She could hear snarling, howling, and the shuffle of leaves. Something was out there--she could sense it, see it. There were actually several large blue creatures in a whole night sky of green and blue stars.
Mary sat frozen in fear. She was surrounded by a pack of coyotes. She held her breath and closed her eyes, awaiting her end.
The coyotes lunged and Mary screamed. Prickle bushes and vines shot from the ground, encircling her, stabbing out and stopping the dogs in their tracks. The coyotes yelped, whimpered, trying to free themselves from the bushes. When she dared to open her eyes, she saw the dogs were long gone and she was surrounded by a circle of plants dripping with blood.
The next day, Mary confessed to her father what happened and proudly demonstrated her newfound power. But there was no praise, no hug of relief that she survived. He simply walked away without word.
The next morning he informed her that she would be sent to boarding sxhool-Academy 003. A week later she was packed and at the airport. She and her alcohol-infused mother shared a tearful goodbye. Just before leaving she received a pat on the shoulder--the first ever sign of affection from her father--before boarding the plane bound for Myrtle Beach, SC.

"I know plants better than I know people." ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
▼ CLASSIFICATION:
Red
▼ POWER INFORMATION:
Chlorokinesis: Mary can telepathically control the growth and movement of plants. This allows her to grow plants and seeds around her to great sizes, and to use vines and branches like prehensile arms or tails. She can also induce flowering, fruiting, seeding, and pollination. These skills can be used to feed herself and others, increase her supply of plant seeds, and to provide cover with clouds of pollen, petals, leaves, or airborne seeds. Created matter cannot be reabsorbed. Plants that cannot sustain themselves naturally will die.
Chloropathy: This ability allows Mary to feel light, moisture, heat, cold, pain, and vibration through plants. This ability helps her detect non-living things such as machines and other unnatural occurrences.
Life Aura: Mare can see living plants and the creatures that come in contact with them. Unliving or dead matter appears black or grey. Plants appear green, molds and fungus are blue-green, animals-blue, regular humans-indigo, and delta humans-violet.
Ecological Empathy: As an extension of her aura sense, Mary is able to feel distress, such as that caused by wildfire or the chopping of trees, or bliss caused by a good day. She can sense fear and agitation in animals. Humans are more complex, so she can only sense intense emotions. Her empathy manifests as 'gut feelings', such as heart or stomach pain.
▼ LIMITS:
Chlorokinesis: Cannot conjure plants out of nothing, nor can she control or revive dead plants or materials such as paper or wood. This means Mary is at a disadvantage while in buildings and cities where there is little plant matter and soil. She also cannot alter the DNA of her plants, so the usefulness of her plants is limited by their species.
Her maximum range is roughly 100 yards (one football field). Her strongest vine could only support about 80 lbs including its own weight, but she can control approximately 1 ton (large truck) of plant matter at a time. Heavy use of her power leases to physical and mental fatigue.
Other abilities: Limited range (see above). Animals and people can be sensed while in contact with her plants, but may only be sensed for about 2 minutes after contact is broken. Excessive use of her abilities may lead to headaches and migraines.
▼ WEAKNESSES:
Her power is partially derived from solar energy, so she is weaker at night, during overcast or cloudy weather, and especially during autumn and winter when days are shorter. She is also more sensitive to heat and cold than most people.
Her abilities are easily countered with fire, lightning, and ice. These elements can outright destroy any plant matter she creates. Fire and other energy bursts can also obscure her aura sense, causing it to turn shades of red, orange, and yellow.

"I’m a Pisces, if that helps." ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
Allergies: none Phobias: strangers, dogs, public speaking, ghosts Western Zodiac Sign: Pisces
The strangest thing happened at the man's touch--a jolt of electricity pulsed through her and just a moment later they were outside in fresh air, alive and relatively unscathed. Myrtle took in a deep breath, then coughed the rest of the smoke into her elbow. She took what felt like a clean part of her cape and dabbed at her eyes until a last she could see her saviour.
Standing before was who appeared to be a regular, handsome guy. No costume. Just just civvies with just barely visible patches of his black and grey clothes. He took off a face mask, revealing a smirk.
"You're safe now," he told the two girls. Myrtle nodded and brushed soot off of the child's clothes, examining for burns. Thankfully there was no serious damage The little girl silently stared at the man, a little fearful, but most likely in awe of his power. He then turned to direct Myrtle directly, "Nice costume."
Myrtle blushed and brushed herself vigorously, embarrassed at her appearance, the situation, and the attention. "Oh thank you, I made it myself... and thank you... for saving us both," she said looking him in his blue eyes, then nervously distracting herself with the child."Speaking of which, we better get you looked at." "Hey! Over here! I found Tammy!" Wallflower shouted, turning toward the firetruck and rescue workers, waving for the attention. He gestured and shouted something to the others.
"Tammy? TAMMY!" a voice shouted, coming out from the other side of the truck. The woman raced to her daughter and embraced her in a hug, kissing her face and checking her all over for injuries. "Mommy, they saved me," the girl told her, hugging tight. "I want to be a superhero just like them and Daddy--" "Shhh, quiet now. We can talk about that later," the mother shushed her, putting a finger to the girl's lips. She looked anxiously and suspiciously at the two heroes, wondering if they overheard the girl's error. "I truly thank you both for saving my daughter. But now I need to make sure she gets the medical attention she needs. Please excuse us," the woman said, pulling the girl by her wrist to meet the incoming paramedics halfway.
It was just the two of them now. Myrtle looked to him a smiled shyly. "Thank you again. I hope I haven't endangered you by risking your secret identity or anything..." Myrtle apologized, worried. She held her hands, looked at the ground. "I should run off, before people start asking us too many questions." @The Man Emperor
