When Pierce was 10 his mother got really sick, a trip to the hospital discovered a tumor in her brain. The doctors were confident they would operate to remove it. The operation seemed to go well, however his mother died in the hospital later due to some complications. Since then Pierce has been terrified of hospitals. Despite the tragic death of his mother Pierce still maintained his kind personality. His father was sure to get his son the care he needed so Pierce never entered the self destructive phase he could have. Life continued as normal for the next 3 years. That was until his Father met his now Step Mother Alice, who had a son of her own. Things were a little rocky at first but 2 years after they met they were married and Pierce went from an only child to having a younger brother. Despite being perceived has the generic jock type person he loves theater and cosplay, and his not at all shy about expressing these interests. Sadly Pierce is allergic to cocoa. Their birth parents were both drug dealers, though neither actually did the drugs they sold themselves surprisingly. They were terrible parents however, often neglecting the twins or even beating them, and it only got worse as they got older. It wasn’t until the twins were about eight that their parents finally got caught and both arrested. Needless to say this left the two in the foster care system for a while before they were adopted by a couple who couldn’t have children of their own. This didn't happen until the two were about eleven as not many people wanted to keep the twins together. The Daltons took them in and treated the twins as if they had raised the two there whole lives. Luckily the twins had each other so they settled in fairly easily. Though they had developed a bit of an unhealthy co-dependence on each other. The two have since worked through this with the help of therapists and can go about there own business without feeling anxious with the other not there. This allowed the twins to develop there own personalities and interests. Whereas for the most part the twins were inseparable they did have their differences. Maria grew into a very musically talented young female, learning several instruments at once and even taking voice lessons. She loves music, it is her getaway and her stress relief. She also secretly enjoys nerding out about superheroes. This year, for the first time in their entire lives the twins are seperated. Marco managed to get himself into a boarding school with a fantastic dance program after spending all summer studying with Maria to pass the entrance exams. Completely whip the encounter out of your mind right, instead the party arrived, the tavern was hosting a drinking contest, our group and your character joined in, we all got shit faced drunk (maybe there was a small bar fight to explain why the non-drinkers of our party were also passed out) and now we are all waking up.

I think the DM would rather just move on from the whole thing, a big ol retcon.

Don't worry too much about it, it's a boundry nobody really brought up until it was happening, it's on all of us. We should just really quickly go over any other boundries we all have that we don't want crossed. And also remember to speak up if something comes up later that maybe we forgot to mention or didn't think would bother us until it came up.

My list of no goes are pretty basic stuff:
-No Sexual Assult
-No Body horror/gore, or at least no detailed depictions of it (after all we are fighting Hags, it's bound to come up)
-No child murder, at least on the players parts, as we just establised
-Murderhoboing in general is also not on my list of things I enjoy.

Listen he would have beat the crap out if the kid if he actually had hit him, but Hammerhand was trying to prove to Max that he wasn't a true warrior. He needs to marshal himself. Other than that, I dunno about you guys but killing Gorgash sounds like a great idea after all it seems like him and Max are working together

I've run an annis hag in a different game and I have a similar villain in Wild Beyond the Witchlight (without giving spoilers).

Fighting an Annis Hag, or any hag, is not the issue, as they are depicted to be irredeemable monsters.

The main issue with this encounter is fighting the child without the possibility of helping the child.

I think this is the way I would have put it too. I have also fought one of these hags in previous games but we managed to help the children before anything bad could happen to them.
